What is Sprint Music Manager?
Sprint Music Manager is a free, PC-based software application that allows you to:

You’ll find Music Manager on the installation CD included with your phone, or at

How do I get Sprint Music Manager?
Sprint Music Manager is a free application. There are two ways to obtain Sprint Music Manager.

How do I install Sprint Music Manager?
When you insert the CD that came with your phone, the installation process will start
automatically. If you’ve downloaded the installation file from our Web site, you’ll need to locate
that file on your computer and double-click it to begin the installation process.
The Music Manager installer will make sure that you have a compatible phone, that your
computer’s version of Windows Media Player is up-to-date, and will then proceed with installing
the Music Manager software. It will also install drivers to enable your phone to connect to your
computer properly. Following installation, you’ll be prompted to restart your computer before
using Sprint Music Manager.
How do I activate Sprint Music Manager?
The first time you launch Sprint Music Manager, the program will have to be activated by
connecting your phone to the computer. The activation step verifies that the phone is registered
you, and allows you to opt-in to be notified of future Music Manager updates
To activate your phone on Music Manager, perform the following steps:

Make sure your phone is on, showing the home screen, with all applications closed.
Connect your phone to the computer.
Launch Music Manager
Click Activate, located at the bottom of the screen
A pop-up message will let you know when you have completed activation.
After clicking OK, Music Manager opens
How do I add music to Sprint Music manager?
The first time you launch Sprint Music Manager, the Add Music wizard will run, which will allow
you to let Music Manager search your computer for existing music files. You can also launch the
Add Music wizard by clicking on Add Music in the bottom left corner of the program window.
Follow the prompts to choose where to search and what type of files to include; when complete,
click Finish to view your music library.

How do I transfer music from my computer to my phone?
Once Music Manager is running, connect your phone to your computer using the appropriate
cable. Once connected, click the Transfer tab in Music Manager to drag and drop music files from
the left pane to the right pane of the window. You can build a large list of music files to transfer
and then click Transfer Now to start copying music onto your phone.
How do I create a playlist?
Once Music Manager is running, click on the Manage tab, and then the Create Playlist icon. Type
a name for your playlist (such as “Jogging Tunes” or “Relaxation”) and click Ok.
Once you’ve created a playlist, you can add music to it by locating the song in Music Manager,
right-clicking on it and selecting Add to Playlist. You can add multiple songs to a playlist by shiftclicking on them, and then right-clicking on the selected group. Click Add to Playlist and select the
appropriate playlist.
Can I import my other playlists that I have set up in Windows Media Player?
Yes, you can import these. From the Sprint Music Manager, select File -> Import Playlists from
Windows Media Player. This will launch a wizard which will give you the ability to import your
current playlists
How do I delete or remove songs from Music Manager?
Once Music Manager is running, click on the Manage tab. Select the song to remove in the righthand pane and click Delete, or press the delete key on your keyboard. Note that removing a song
from Music Manager does not delete it from your computer.
What types of music files can I play with Sprint Music Manager?
Music Manager supports importing and playing WAV, MP3, WMA, AAC, or non-DRM AAC files.
Currently, Music Manager only supports DRM-protected WMA files; other types of digital-rights
managed files are not supported.
Songs that you have purchased or 'rented' from online stores that contain digital-rights
management protection (DRM), such as purchases from iTunes, wal-mart.com, Yahoo! Music,
Rhapsody, Napster, etc. cannot be transferred or played on Sprint handsets. Songs purchased
that do not have DRM protection can be used with Sprint Music Manager.
How do I burn a playlist to a CD?
With Music Manager open, click on Manage, then click on Burn CD. This will launch the Burn CD
wizard.
You’ll be prompted to view your music by Album, Artist, Genre or Playlist. Select Playlist and click
Next. You can then select specific songs to include or exclude. Once you’ve made your
selections, click Burn.
How do I copy or rip a CD into my library?
With Music Manager open, insert your CD into your computer. In Music Manager, click on Audio
CD in the left pane. You’ll be prompted to select songs from the CD. Once you’ve made your
selections, click Rip CD.

How do I manage my collection in Music Manager?
The Manage section of the Sprint Music Manager is where you manage your music collections on
your computer.
The Manage screen is divided in two sections: The left pane contains a list of folders. The right
pane contains a list of the music files based on the folder selected. Music added to the Sprint
Music Manager is placed into folders based on the information included with the music file. The
Manage section is also where you can access the Add Music Wizard, the Burn CD Wizard, and
the functionality for playing music in a collection.

Folder
Description
Songs
All songs in a collection will display and can be sorted by any column
shown in the right pane.
Artists
All songs in collection organized by Artist Name will be displayed when
you click + to expand the Artist Folder.
Album
All songs in collection organized by Album will be displayed when you
click + to expand the Album Folder.
Genre
All songs in collection organized by Album will be displayed when you
click + to expand the Genre Folder.
Playlists
Playlists are your created song groupings. To display your entire playlists
click + to expand the Playlist Folder.
Digital Lounge
Downloads
Select the Digital Lounge Downloads to show all PC download copies of
music purchased through the Sprint Music Store.
Audio CD
Audio CD will only appear when a CD is in the CD drive of the computer.
