2.1mm jack of +12VDC/500mA.
These BNC connectors accept the composite video signal of colour cameras.
Connect this input with the output of your VCR.
A composite video signal goes from this output to the video input of your monitor or TV.
This BNC connector provides a composite video signal that can be used as an input signal for a
video or a TV.
: Connect this output with an external alarm system.

MENU (exit)
Allows access to the system’s set-up menus and exits the current status
(▲)
Displays the image of the camera for CH1 in full-screen format. Also used to move the
cursor upwards in the set-up menu.
(▼)
Displays the image of the camera for CH2 in full-screen format. Also used to move the
cursor to the left in the set-up menu.
(◄)
Displays the image of the camera for CH3 in full-screen format. Also used to move the
cursor to the right in the set-up menu.
(►)
Displays the image of the camera for CH4 in full-screen format. Also used to move the
cursor upwards in the set-up menu.
QUAD (+)
Displays the image from all 4 cameras in quad format. Also use this button to increase
the entered values.
AUTO (-)
Starts the automatic switching sequence. Also use this button to decrease the entered
values.
VCR PLAY/FREEZE (enter) Used for the freeze mode or the VCR playback mode. Also use this button to confirm
the entered values.
5. Using the Menu
A convenient on-screen menu allows you to set up key features, such as the display time for each camera in the
automatic sequence, the camera titles, the colours, the time and the date.
Connect the cameras and the monitor and verify whether the power source has been connected with the
VQS4CRT2. The device is activated automatically when the power supply is switched on.
a) Menu
Press ▲or ▼to select the desired function and press ENTER.
Press MENU to exit the menu.
b) Alarm Duration
Set the alarm duration in seconds (1-99) with + or –.
Press MENU to return to the menu.
c) Baud Rate
Determine the interface baud rate with + or – : 115200, 57600, 19200, 9600, 4800, 3600, 2400 or 1200bps. Press
MENU to return to the menu.
d) Dwell Time
Determine the dwell time (1 – 30seconds) for the auto switching mode with + or –. Press MENU to return to the
menu.
e) Int Audible Alarm
Activate or deactivate the internal audible alarm with ► or ◄. Press MENU to return to the menu.

f) Ext Audible Alarm
Activate or deactivate the external audible alarm with ► or ◄. Press MENU to return to the menu.
g) Set Time
Select the characters with ► or ◄ and adjust the time/date with + or -. Select one of three time display modes :
YY/MM/DD/hh/mm/ss or DD/MM/YY/hh/mm/ss or TIME DISPLAY OFF (time and date are not displayed on the
screen). Press MENU to return to the menu.
h) Dwell Set-Up
Press ▲or ▼to select the auto switching mode. Use ► or ◄ to select ON/OFF. Press MENU to exit.
i) Rising or falling edge
Select the desired polarity of the edge with ► or ◄ : HIGH, LOW or OFF. Select the channel with ▲or ▼. Press
MENU to return to the menu.
j) Camera Title Set-Up
Select the desired position with ► or ◄ and select the channel with ▲or ▼.
Enter the words with + or –. Press MENU to return to the menu.
k) Event List (check alarm status and instances of video loss)
Press ENTER to clear the records. Press MENU to return to the menu.
l) Video Set (adjustments per channel)
Press ENTER to get into the video adjustment screen. Select brightness, colour or contrast for camera picture 1, 2, 3
or 4 with ▲, ▼, ► or ◄. Adjust the respective values with + or – and press MENU to return to the menu.
m) System Reset
The device returns to the default values when you press ENTER.
6. Additional Functions
a) Full Screen
Press one of the four full-screen buttons ( , , , ) to display the picture of the selected camera on the entire
surface of the screen. Press the quad button to return to the quad screen.
b) Quad
Press the quad button to simultaneously display the pictures of all 4 cameras on the monitor (quad-screen format).

c) Auto
Press the AUTO button to activate the auto switching sequence. The set-up of the menu will determine the order in
which the quad picture and the picture of the various cameras are displayed. Press the quad button to return to the
quad screen.
d) Freeze
Press the VCR PLAY/FREEZE BUTTON. The freeze mode is activated when FREEZE appears in the top right-hand
corner of the screen. Press the button for the channel you would like to freeze and you will see Z on the selected
channel ("CH1", "CH2", "CH3" or "CH4"). Press the VCR PLAY/FREEZE BUTTON again to exit the freeze mode.
e) VCR Play
Hold the VCR PLAY/FREEZE BUTTON for 2 to 3 seconds to display the VCR playback picture. Zoom in with one of
the four FULL SCREEN buttons. Press the VCR PLAY/FREEZE BUTTON again to exit this mode.
f) Alarm & Video Loss
Arm both the internal and external audible alarm : the symbol will appear to the right of the title of the camera
picture when the alarm is activated. The symbol (“lost signal”) indicates that the video signal is no longer received.

8. Troubleshooting
PROBLEM
No picture
Video loss e.g. the feed for channel 1 is lost at
noon : the picture for camera 1 will read "
LOSS 12:00".
Continuous alarm
The various camera pictures of the quad
screen exhibit different clarity, contrast and
colour settings.
Bad picture quality after power on
SOLUTION
1. Please check if the power supply is connected.
2. Please check if the wiring between the monitor, the camera
and the VQS4CRT2 is correct.
The wiring may be damaged or cut (sabotage).
Check if the camera and the VQS4CRT are connected properly.
Adjust the parameters for the different cameras in the VIDEO
menu.
Please connect the video cable to channel one before turning the
device on. The device will detect system automatically for PAL or
NTSC (EIA or CCIR)
