Setting up Email on iPhone
1. Power on the device.
a. With the phones Screen facing you and the home button on the bottom, press
the power button on the top right edge of the phone or you may press the home
button once.
2. Place your finger on the “Slide to Unlock” icon and move your finger from Left to
Right. You must keep your finger in contact with the screens surface during this
movement.
3. Once you have unlocked your device press the home button one time to ensure you are
at your main home screen.
4. Select, by tapping on the screen, the “Settings” icon. A new window will open at this
point.
5. Select, by tapping on the screen, the “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” icon located towards
the bottom of the menu listings.
6. Tap on the “Add Account…” a new window will appear.
7. Tap to select the “Microsoft Exchange” entry. A new window will appear.
8. Tap to present a cursor in the “Email” field. Enter your CMS Email address.
9. Tap to present a cursor in the “Password” field. Enter your Current Email/Computer
Log in password.
10. Tap “Next” located in the upper right side of screen.
11. The iPhone will test your credentials and if successful will present a new screen with
the following:
Mail
On
Contacts
On
Calendars
On
Reminders
On
12. If you are satisfied press the “Save” button located in the upper right portion of the
screen. If you would like to remove an event from synchronizing with your iPhone, move
the slider to off beside each entry you wish to turn off. Once completed with making
On/Off changes press “Save”.
13. Tap the “Settings” button located in the upper Left hand side of the screen to return
to the “Settings” main Screen. Then press your “home button to return to the iPhones
main screen.
In some instances, iPhone may not be able to authenticate your credentials and you will
be presented with a new screen.
If this happens please use the following information
For Email Server enter email.cms.k12.nc.us
For Domain Please leave Blank
For User name enter your full CMS Email address for example
XXX.XXX@cms.k12.nc.us
Enter your password and click save.
If authentication fails perform the following:
For domain enter cms.k12.nc.us
For user name enter your AD name as follows XXXX.XXXX
(Do not include the @cms.k12.nc.us)
Enter your password and click save.
If authentication fails, you may be entering the incorrect password for your Email
account. Double check the password and spelling of your credentials.
