Preface
We are very grateful for your purchasing our company’s GPS positioning burglar
alarm; the instructions on usage are detailed in the Instruction Manual. So make sure
you read carefully this Instruction Manual before using this terminal. The changes
may be made without prior notice. Each change will be released during the latest
product marketing activity. The manufacturer doesn’t assume legal responsibility for
faults and omission in the Instruction Manual.
1. Introduction
This product is based upon GSM/GPRS network and the Global Positioning
System (GPS), through which the positioning and monitoring for remote objectives
can be achieved through sending SMS or the Internet.

5. Instructions for use
5.1 SIM card installation
Remove the rear cover of the terminal by hand, and open the cover of the SIM
card slot, then insert SIM card into the SIM card slot with the metal face facing
downwards, and lastly snap on the cover of card slot. (As shown in the following
picture)
Precautions:
Please use the GSM SIM card
The terminal’s SIM card requires Caller ID services
The terminal’s SIM card requires GPRS function
The PIN code of the terminal’s SIM card is off
5.2 Change of charging indicators
For the charge of main host, the red and yellow indicators of the charger flashes
alternatively (9 seconds for red light and 1 second for yellow light); if battery is
charged fully, the yellow indicator of the charger is on continuously.
5.3 Starting device
5.3.1 After the SIM card and battery are in place, take the terminal outdoors and
long-press the on/off button until the indicator lights up.
5.3.2 After 30 seconds or so when outdoors, the terminal will have searched the GMS
and GPS signals and commence normal operations. Under normal operations, the
indicator of the terminal flashes every 3 seconds continuously.
5.3.3 After the terminal receives the GPS signal and starts normal operations, users
can make any settings according to the commands in the Manual.
Tips:
Command format for setting the following functional parameters uses the
lower-case letters with English punctuation marks; all commands sent shall receive
replies; information of successful setting will be given if the setting for parameter
commands are successful; if not, parameters shall be reset.
The “+” sign in all the commands shall not be input when writing SMS, and the
“space” means the space symbol in the mobile phone.
Location information searching function is operable for all mobile phones while
the remaining functions should be through the service center.
Sending corresponding enquiry commands will receive corresponding messages
from the terminal
5.4 Setting phone number of the Service Center
The phone number by which users dial the locator and have 10 times of
successful positioning within 30 minutes will be set as the Service Center’s number
by default; sending the message of “admin+password+space+phone number” to the
terminal can also set the Service Center’s number. If the Service Center’s number is
successfully set, the terminal replies with the “admin ok” information.
Notes:
Only one phone number of the Service Center can be set
The Service Center’s number is used for receiving the alarm signals of the terminal
5.5 Deletion of Service Center’s number
If the Service Center’s number is successfully deleted after the message of
“noadmin+password” is sent to the terminal, the terminal replies with the “noadmin
ok” information.
Example of command: noadmin123456
5.6 Password setting
5.6.1 Sending the message of “password+old password+space+new password” to the
terminal for change of password.
Example: After the message of “password123456 888888” is sent to the
terminal,If the password change is successful, the device will reply "password OK".
5.6.2 Please keep new password in mind, or the terminal will have to be restored to
factory settings (5.4) if the password is lost.
5.6.3 The new password must have six digits of Arabic numerals; otherwise the
terminal will be unable to identify it.
5.7 SMS enquiry of network links
5.7.1 Single positioning
5.7.11 If the Service Center’s number hasn’t been set, the terminal replies with the
information of longitude and latitude degrees if any phone number is dialed to the
terminal; if the Service Center’s has been set, the terminal won’t reply with
information of longitude and latitude degrees for any phone number except the
Service Center’s number.
5.7.12 If the Service Center’s number is dialed to the terminal, the terminal hands up
your phone number and replies with the actual information of longitude and latitude
degrees as follows:

5.7.2 Automatic continuous positioning (The default state for this function is off)
5.7.21 Sending the message of “fix time s times n+password” to the terminal will
successfully set the continuous positioning function.
Example: fix030s005n123456
This example means that the terminal sends the information of longitude and
latitude degrees every 30 seconds for a total of five times. (s: second, m: minute, h:
hour); this command must be set with 3 digits of Arabic numerals, with the highest
value of 250.
5.7.22 Positioning for endless times
Sending the message of “fix020m***n+password” to the terminal will
successfully set the positioning for endless times.
Example: fix020m***n123456
This example means that the terminal sends the information of longitude and
latitude degrees every 20 minutes for an endless number of times.
5.7.23 Cancellation of automatic continuous positioning
Sending the message of “nofix+password”. If the automatic continuous
positioning is cancelled successfully, the terminal replies with the “nofix ok”
information.
Example: Sending the message of “nofix123456” to the terminal will cancel the
automatic continuous positioning.
5.7.3 If your mobile phone supports the internet connection, you can click on the
location link through the SMS, and download the map snapshot of the terminal’s
location through GPRS, WIFI or 3G networks. (This method has margin of error,
since the mobile's map is inconsistent with the satellite data)
5.7.31 Download the Google Earth app at http://earth.google.com/; (click on
"http://earth.google.com" for more information about this app); after downloading,
start the Google Earth app, as shown in the following picture: (Enter the longitude
and latitude degrees at the Search Bar to locate the present location)
Note: Or, you can start Internet Explore, and enter http://maps.google.com, and
then enter the longitude and latitude degrees at the Search Bar to locate the
present location. (Emphasis: Data from satellite map, earth map, and
planimetric map are inconsistent, with wide margin of error)
5.8 Platform enquiry
Note: To start this function, first set the GPRS parameter (Please refer to
article 5.24)
Enter the service platform website: ________________, and key in the login
name and password for operations at the service platform.
5.9 Surroundings of the monitoring device
After the message of “monitor+password” is sent to the terminal, the terminal
automatically dials the Service Center’s number to the user; after the phone is
connected, the user can listen to the sound around the surroundings of the terminal.
Example of command: monitor123456
5.10 SOS number setting
After the message of “sos+password+space+no serial number+space+SOS
number for setting” is sent to the terminal, the terminal replies with the “sos ok”.
Example of command:
sos123456 no1 13512345678 denoting setting the first SOS number
sos123456 no2 13612345678 denoting setting the second SOS number
sos123456 no3 13712345678 denoting setting the third SOS number
5.11 Deletion of SOS number
If a certain number is required to be deleted, users can send to the terminal the
message of serial number command corresponding to the specific number to be
deleted, in order to delete the specific number.
If the designated SOS number is deleted by the terminal after the message of
“nosos+password+space+no serial number” is sent to the terminal, the terminal
replies with the “nosos ok” information.
Example of command: nosos123456 no1 no2 no3
5.12 Operations of emergency alarm
When users need assistance in emergency circumstances, the terminal
automatically turns on the SOS emergency calling alarm after the user press the SOS
button. The terminal will send the alarm information to the service platform, and send
the alarm information to the various SOS numbers having already been set in the form
of phone-making. For the repeated dialing of SOS numbers, it dials three times at
maximum if the phone is unanswered.
Note: The emergency alarm function requires pre-set SOS number!
5.13 Electronic fence
Generally, the electronic fence for the terminal is off by default; user can send
SMS to the terminal to turn on the electronic fence.
5.13.1 Setting for circular fence
You can set the present point as the center of the circular fence; with this point as
the center of the circle and the distance as the radius, the circle thus formed is a
circular fence.
If the terminal is out of this electronic fence, the alarm will be sent through
SMS to the Service Center’s number which has already been set!
When the GPS of the terminal is not under the positioning mode, this
function is disabled.
Command format: stockade+password+space+fence radius
Example: stockade123456 5
In the example is a circular fence with a radius of 500m (fence's radius 1=100m,
2=200m and so on)
If the setting for a circular fence is successful, a replay message of " stockade
ok " will be sent.
5.13.2 Cancellation of the setting of circular fence
If the cancellation of the setting of circular fence is successful after the message
of “nostockade+password” is sent to the terminal, the terminal replies with the
“nostockade ok” information.
Example of command: nostockade123456
5.14 Position shift alarm
After the terminal stays in a place for 3-10 minutes, the user can set a circular
fence (Please refer to Article 5.13). The radius of the circular fence can be set at 100
or 200 meters. Once the terminal moves outside the fence, the terminal sends the
fence alarm information, namely the position shift alarm information, to the Service
Center’s number.
5.15 Speed alarm
Note: It is recommended to set the speed alarm at 50km/h and above. If it is
set too low, it may not produce accurate results due to GPS signal drift.
5.15.1 The terminal replies with the “speed ok” after the message of
“speed+password+space+080” is sent to the terminal; when the operating speed of the
terminal reaches more than 80km/h, the terminal sends the message of “speed+080+
longitude and latitude degrees” to the Service Center’s number. The terminal sends
one piece of alarm information every 3 minutes.
5.15.2 Cancellation of speed alarm
If the cancellation of speed alarm setting is successful after the message of
“nospeed+password” is sent to the terminal, the terminal replies with the “nospeed
ok” information.

5.16 Low-battery alarm
Note: The low-battery alarm function is on by default during the factory
settings.
5.16.1 Turn on the low-battery alarm
After the message of “lowpower+password” is sent to the terminal, the terminal
replies with the “lowpower ok” information. If the terminal’s voltage is lower than
3.4V, the terminal automatically sends the message of “low battery+longitude and
latitude degrees” to the Service Center’s number.
Example of command: lowpower123456
5.16.2 Cancellation of low-battery alarm
If the cancellation of the low-battery alarm setting is successful after the message
of “nolowpower+password” is sent to the terminal, the terminal replies with the
“nolowpower ok” information.
Example of command: nolowpower123456
5.17 Setting of GPS working mode
5.17.1 Mode 1
Note: Under the first mode conditions according to the factory settings
If the setting of the terminal’s mode 1 conditions is successful after the message
of “mode+password+space+1” is sent to the terminal, the terminal replies with the
“mode ok” information. Under this working mode, the GPS works non-stop without
entering the sleep mode, and uploads data at a certain interval in accordance with the
pre-set GPRS transmission location data (Please refer to Article 5.23).

5.17.2 Sleep mode 2
If the setting of the terminal’s mode 2 conditions is successful after the message
of “mode+password+space+2” is sent to the terminal, the terminal replies with the
“mode ok” information. Under this working mode, the GPS sends the location data
after successful positioning and then enters the sleep mode; after 10-minute sleep
mode, it continues to search for the satellites (Refer to Article 5.17.21 for setting of
time of sleep mode); it re-enters the sleep mode after successful positioning, and this
cycle repeats.

5.17.21 Setting of GPS sleep time
If the setting of the time of GPS sleep mode is successful after the message of
“sleepout+password+space+sleep time” is sent to the terminal, the terminal replies
with the “sleepout ok” information.
Example of command: sleepout123456 8
The example means the sleep time of GPS is 8 minutes, namely the GPS uploads
the location data every 8 minutes.
5.17.3 Sleep mode 3
If the setting of the terminal’s mode 3 conditions is successful after the message
of “mode+password+space+3” is sent to the terminal, the terminal replies with the
“mode ok” information. Under this working mode, the GPS enters the sleep mode
after 2 minutes (Refer to Article 5.17.31 for setting of GPS working time) without
automatically quitting the sleep mode; the terminal wakes up after the terminal
receives the message or phone-making, and then enters the working mode. It re-enters
the sleep mode after 2 minutes, thus the maximum power-saving mode.
5.17.31 Setting of GPS working time
If the setting of GPS working time is successful after the message of
“sleep+password+space+working time” is sent to the terminal, the terminal replies
with the “sleep ok” information.

The example means that the GPS’s working time under the working mode after
wake-up from the sleep mode is 5 minutes, and after that it re-enters the sleep mode.
5.18 Enquiry of status
After the message of “check+password” is sent to the terminal, the terminal
replies with a piece of message displaying the current status of the terminal.
Example: after the message of “check123456” is sent to the terminal, the
terminal replies with the information of the current status: “GSM:100%
GPS:OK/NO GPRS:ON/OFF battery:100%”
5.19 Setting for enquiry about parameters
After the message of “param+password” is sent to the terminal, the terminal
replies with the information for the setting of parameters.
Example: After the message of “param123456” is sent to the terminal, the
terminal replies with the information for setting of parameters:

5.20 Setting of the terminal’s time
If
the
setting
is
successful
after
the
message
of
“time+space+zone+password+space+time” is sent to the terminal, the terminal replies
with the “time ok” information.
Example: In China, the setting is as follows: sending the message of “time
zone123456 8”, in which the “8” refers to the time zone in China; if the time zone
of the country the user is residing is minus, then the message shall be “time
zone123456 -8”.
5.21 Remote reset of the terminal
If the terminal receives the command after the message of “reset+password” is
sent to the terminal, the terminal reboots within 1 minute; after the reset, the terminal
replies with the “reset ok” information.
Example of command: reset123456
5.22 Restore factory settings
After the message of “begin” is sent to the terminal, the “begin ok” will be sent
by the terminal in reply, and the factory settings will be reset. (Factory default
password: 123456)
Example: Sending the message of “begin” to the terminal will receive the “begin
ok” in reply.
5.23 Setting interval time for GPRS transmission of location data
The default interval time for GPRS transmission of location data is 10s, namely
transmitting one piece of location data to the platform server every 10 seconds. For
setting interval for GPRS transmission of location data, send the command for GPRS
time setting.
Command format: upload+password+space+time of timer (second)
Set range of interval time: 0 or 10-600 seconds; "0" denotes no transmission of
data
Example: upload123456 15
In the example, the interval time for GPRS transmission of location data is 15
seconds, namely transmitting one piece of location data to the server every 15
seconds.
If the setting is successful, a reply message of "set uploda ok" will be sent.
5.24 Setting for GPRS parameters
5.24.1 APN Setting
The APN for GSM communications operators vary according to different
countries; for information about APN of your SIM card, please consult with your local
communications operator.
Command format: apn+password+space+ network name
Example: apn123456 cmwap
The "cmwap" in the example denotes the APN of China Mobile operator.
If the APN setting is successful, a reply message of " apn ok " will be sent.
5.24.2 Setting for GPRS login name and password
In most countries, the GPRS login name and password can be omitted; skip this
step. For countries requiring the login name and password, make the setting as
follows:
Command format: apn+password+space+network name+space+user+space+user
name+space+pd+space+password
Example: apn123456 cmwap user yidong pd 123
In the example, "yidong" denotes the login name, and "123" denotes password
If the setting for GPRS login name and password is successful, a reply message
of " apn ok " will be sent.
5.25 Setting for IP address and port number of the server platform
5.25.1 IP address and port number, provided by the platform operator, have already
been set upon purchase of this product; consult the platform operator if you need to
set these yourself.
Command format: ip+password+space+IP address+space+port+space+ port
number
Example of command: ip123456 120.31.131.88 port 8500

5.25.2 The setting through the domain is also capable of achieving communications
with the server.
Command

6 Points for attention
Please make sure the following is implemented when using the terminal:
6.1 Make sure the device operates in dry conditions, since the interior circuit is likely
to suffer damage in the humid environment.
6.2 Don’t place the device in areas with dust.
6.3 Don’t place the device in areas which are too hot or too cold.
6.4 Don’t violently shake the device during its use.
6.5 Please clean it with dry cloth, with no chemical agent or detergent.
6.6 Don’t paint the device, for this is likely to result in the fault of the interior circuit.
6.7 Don’t dismantle the device.
6.8 Please use the original batteries and charger. Use with other batteries and chargers
may lead to faults.
7.Trouble-shooting
a. The device, after initial installation, fails to connect to the server, and the server
displays "offline". Please check the device's installation:
1) Whether the batteries are flat, and whether the device is switched on.
2) Check whether the SIM card is inserted correctly; please refer to the installation
instructions.
3) Check the status of the LED indicator; when the terminal works normally, the
blue LED indicator is on for 0.3 seconds and off for 3 seconds.
4) Check whether the GPS positioning is ready; if not, please make the initial
positioning in an open area outdoors.
b. The device displays it’s in an offline state when working in the background.
First inspect whether the indicators of the device works normally; if the user is
unable to see the device, first check the state of the SIM card, as shown below:
1) Dial the SIM card number of the terminal to check whether the phone connection
is correct.
2) Whether there is GSM network signal coverage in the area in which the device is
located.
3) Inspect whether the disconnection is an isolated case and determine whether it is
a fault on the part of the network operator.
4) Check whether SIM card subscriber needs top-up recharge.
5) Check whether the GPRS service is canceled (offline at last day of the month).
6) Make enquiry about the parameter setting. Check the serial number of the
terminal and check whether the interval time of the GPRS transmission is correct.
c. If the GPS function of the device fails to work after having been activated, please
check whether the device is installed according to the following requirements:
1) The GPS antenna faces outwards for the installation of the device.
d. If there is poor GPS signal (surrounding high-rises blocking GPS signal), please
drive the vehicle to an open area for location. Generally, initial location may take 1-2
minutes.
e. If the GSM signal receipt is working abnormally, please check whether the SIM
card in the terminal is inserted correctly; or drive to a place with GSM signal
coverage, since the signal may not cover certain areas (e.g. underground parking).
