TestTrack Evaluation Guide
Getting Started with Your TestTrack Evaluation
This guide walks you through the basic steps to install TestTrack and log in to the sample project on Windows. If you use a different
operating system, see the Seapine product help for information.

Step 1: Install TestTrack
For the evaluation, install the TestTrack and Seapine License Server client and server applications using the default options.
Note: The TestTrack Server communicates with TestTrack clients on port 99 (Windows) and port 1566 (Unix) by default. Check with
your IT team to make sure the port is open in your firewall or if you should use a different port.

Download and run the installer. A download link is included in the evaluation email you received. Contact Seapine Sales
(sales@seapine.com) if you did not receive the email.
On the Welcome screen, click Next, accept the license agreement, and then click Next again.
Select TestTrack Server as the Install Set and click Next.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. Remember to accept the default options, including the options
to start the servers. See the TestTrack installation help for additional information.
Step 2: Add a Seapine License Server connection
The Seapine License Server Admin Utility connects to the Seapine License Server via TCP/IP. Before you can access a server, you
need to add server connection information.

Start the license server if you did not choose to automatically start it after installation. Choose All Programs > Seapine
Software > Seapine License Server > Seapine License Server from the Start menu.
Choose All Programs > Seapine Software > Seapine License Server > Seapine License Server Admin to start the admin
utility. The Setup Server Connections dialog box opens. If it does not open, click Setup on the login dialog box.
Click Add.
Enter ‘Local’ as the Server Name and ‘localhost’ as the Server Address. Do not change the default Port (5100).

Click OK and then click Close to close the Setup Server Connections dialog box.

Step 3: Add the evaluation serial number to the license server

In the Seapine License Server Login dialog box, select Local as the Server and enter ‘Administrator’ as the Username. Leave the
Password field empty.

Click Connect. The admin utility opens.
Click Licenses and then click Add.
Copy the evaluation serial number you received from Seapine and paste it in the Serial Number field.
Click OK to add the license.
Choose File > Exit to close the admin utility. Click No when you are prompted to change the password.
Step 4: Add a TestTrack Server connection
Before you can access a TestTrack Server from TestTrack, you need to add the server connection information.

Start the TestTrack Server if you did not choose to automatically start it after installation. Choose All Programs > Seapine
Software > TestTrack > TestTrack Server.
Choose All Programs > Seapine Software > TestTrack > TestTrack Client to start TestTrack.
Click Setup.
Click Add.
Enter 'Local' as the Server Name and 'localhost' as the Server Address.
Enter '99' (Windows) or '1566' (Unix) as the Port. If you entered a different port during installation, enter that number.

Step 5: Get started with TestTrack

In the TestTrack Login dialog box, enter ‘Administrator’ as the Username. Leave the Password field empty.

Click Connect. The TestTrack Project Selection dialog box opens.
Select Sample Project as the Project. This project demonstrates a configuration for managing requirements, tests, and issues.
Click OK. You are now logged in and ready to start exploring TestTrack. See the TestTrack help to find out how to get started.
