multiple operator positions can be installed to service the incoming calls to the business from one
or more locations. The standalone solution installs the server components on the operator’s PC.
The Operator Console does require an IP Phone to be used with the Operator Console client.
The Cisco IP Phones models have differing call handling capacity. The Operator’s phone must
have the capacity to handle the incoming call volumes. Only the SPA525, 7965 and 7975 are sold
in conjunction with Operator Console.
Note: During the installation of the Call Connector Operator Console, you need to have local
admin rights to the personal computer. This is to allow various system files to be loaded and
Windows registry entries to be written.

The table specifies the minimum computer requirements for three different size systems. The
system requirements vary depending on the number of users logged on to the Call Connector
Server. The number of users here refers to the number of concurrently logged on Call Connector
clients.
These are minimum requirements and deal with only the Call Connector Server requirements. If
the computer is running other application or services, those requirements should be added to
these specifications.

Application Software
Call Connector Server uses the settings of Internet Explorer for navigating through proxies
servers. If you are using a Proxy server to access the Internet, first verify the connection using
the IE browser.
Internet Explorer Version 6.0 with Service Pack 2, Internet Explorer 7.0
Pre Requisites for Server Installation
As a part of the installation of the Call Connector Server, Customer needs to have certain network
connectivity and configuration information. These are summarized below and described in the
following paragraphs.
Static IP Address: The computer must be configured with a static IP address which is on
the same network with the Cisco CME router.
Admin or Power User Account of Installation PC: The installation program requires
access to Windows registry and installation of services. These changes can only be
performed with an account with admin or power user rights to the Window’s computer.
Internet Access: The Call Connector Server software has to be registered to the Call
Connector License Server via an activation process. This requires access to the Internet.
The Internet access can be through a Proxy Server. In this case the Internet Explorer on
the PC should have the proxy settings defined.

General Guidelines
Outlook 2010 x64-bit Support
Outlook 2010 x64-bit uses MAPI x64 library and requires all applications and components
accessing Outlook x64 to use this x64-bit library. The Call Connector Operator (for Outlook x64)
is a native x64-bit application with x64-bit toolbar components to support Outlook x64. As an x64bit native application, this version of the Call Connector Operator has the following
restrictions/limitations:
The x64-bit Call Connector Operator will only work with Outlook x64. If the x64-bit
Windows has Outlook x32 installed, then the installation will fail.
Existing 1.6.0 version Call Connector Operator will need to be uninstalled first before
installing the 2.1 version.
Running under Windows Standard User Rights
Version 2.1 Cisco Call Connector clients can run on Windows accounts that have standard user
rights. There are differences in the client behavior when run under standard user rights. These
are summarized below:
The Cisco Call Connector client must be installed from a Windows account with
administrator/power user rights. During installation, the option to “Run with limited user
rights’ must be selected. The required Cisco Call Connector Services are setup to run
automatically at Windows startup.
The option to ‘Run with limited user rights’ is not available when updating. User requiring
this option must uninstall the Cisco Call Connector clients.
The Cisco Call Connector Services cannot be started or stopped by the client menu.
(Note the status of the Call Connector services cannot be queried and always indicates
stopped).
Connection errors that require restart of the Call Connector Services will require the PC
to be restarted.
LAN Access and Ports
The Local Area Network is used in multi-user environments to share the directory data and to
access services such as E-mail and the Telephony Service. Access to the Internet is also
required for the activation process.
The following network connections are made between the applications running on the Call
Connector Server and the Call Connector clients and the Communication Systems:
