Introductions
The advantage of USB2.0 internal Card Reader provides a better solution for direct access easily at
front of your computer. It allow you install to a free 3.5 inch drive bay and accept over ten most
popular memory cards to read、write、erase or data exchange in front of computer.
This card reader can support such as Secure Digital card (SD), Mini SD, Multi Media card (MMC),
RS MMC, Compact Flash™ (CF), IBM® Microdrive, Smart Media™ (SM), Memory stick (MS),
Memory stick pro, MS-Duo and more media memory cards.

How to Install Your Card Reader to drive Bay
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------CAUTION:
Electrostatic discharge can damaged electronic components. Be sure you are properly grounded
before beging any procedure.
You can touch a metal part of the computer’s chassis or power supply unit to discharge any static
charge that may have built up inside your body.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1. Turn your computer off and disconnect the power cord.
2. Remove the cover of your computer. (Refer to your computer’s hardware reference manual and
follow the instructions to removing the cover)
3. Remove 3.5inch plastic cover on your PC’s front panel.
4. Put the internal card reader with USB cable into the
3.5inch drive bay.
5. Mount internal card reader firmly in both tracks of drive
bay by four screws (ISO 3φ*4mm).
6. Connect USB end to your on-board USB connector that is
a standard ten male pin-header on your motherboard.
(Please refer to following USB pin assignment description
and check your computer’s on-board pin assignment that is
the same definition. You can refer to your computer’s
hardware reference manual.)
7. Check every connection is correct and do not leave any
tooling or screw inside of your computer before you close
the cover.
8. Recover your computer and apply the power cord again.

Driver installations
The card reader need to install application driver for showing media icon on your Windows, you can
find the software program in bundle disc and follow next steps to complete the driver installation.
Note: All the driver installation steps may be a little different from this guide when you using a
new upgrade version of O.S., in this situation please follow the Windows prompt steps to
complete the installation procedure.
Windows® 98 driver installation
1. Turn on your computer, Windows will detect the addition of new hardware and display the following
message.
2. Click “Next” button to continue.

3. Click “ Browse ” button to specify the driver location.
4. Insert your driver disc into the CD-ROM drive and path to “ 409r208n\Driver\Win98”, Click “OK”
button to next.

5. . Click “Next” button to continue.
6. Click “Next” button to continue.

7. Click “Finish” button to complete driver installation.
8. The Windows will detect reader and display four “ Removable Disk” icons in My Computer, now you
can insert your memory card for application. If you have any problem of using media card, please
refer to the next “How to use your media memory card” section.

Windows® 98SE driver installation
1. Turn on your computer, Windows will detect the addition of new hardware and display the following
message. Click “Cancel” button to close this windows.
2. Insert your driver disc into the CD-ROM drive and path to “ 409r208n\Driver”, double click “setup”
icon.

7. This window shows you that driver has completely installed. You need to restart your computer, click
“Finish” button.
8. Reboot your system, the Windows will detect reader and display four recognizable media icons in “My
Computer”, now you can insert your memory card for application. If you have any problem of using
media card, please refer to the next “How to use your media memory card” section.

How to use your media memory card
This internal card reader provides four slots for over ten most popular memory cards application. You
must insert each memory card in correct slot and do not attempt to insert the memory card in reverse
direction by force. Please refer to the following description.
1. CF/MD slot: This slot place in bottom-left of front bezel, it label as “CF/Microdrive” which can
accept Compact Flash™ memory card type I/II and IBM™ Micro Drive.
2. SM slot: This slot place in top-left of front bezel, it label as “Smart Media” which can accept Smart
Media™ memory card. The gold plate must be downward when you insert it.
3. SD/MMC slot: This slot place in top-right of front bezel, it label as “SD/MMC” which can accept
Secure Digital card and Multi Media card etc. The gold plate must be downward
when you insert it.
4. MS/MS Pro slot: This slot place in bottom-right of front bezel, it label as “Memory Stick” which
can accept Sony®MS、MS-Pro、MS-DUO。The gold plate must be downward
when you insert it.
Note: When you using mini memory cards such as Memory stick DUO, mini SD or RS MMC to this
reader, you need to utilize an adapter then card slot can accept it. Normally the adapter comes
with package when you buy a new mini memory card. Otherwise you need to purchase this
adapter alone from your local dealer. See the following photo of adapter.

How to format your memory card
You can format the memory card like as format remove disk, but in some memory card such as
memory stick and SD card, you must be sure the write- protected switch is disable.
Indicator Descriptions
The card reader provides a R/W (read /write) status indicator for card slot diagnosis. Normally the
R/W indicator is off, when data is transmitting between PC and memory card, the R/W LED will turn
flash.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WARNING:
Please do not remove any memory card while data is transmitting between PC and card reader or R/W
status LED is flashing, it may result your computer to crash and lost valuable data.

USB pass through
There is an USB pass through connector in the right side of the bezel, this port has connected to the
motherboard’s on-board ten-pin dual USB connector, it perform as USB host port and support 500ma
output current, you can direct access either the USB1.1 device or USB2.0 high powered peripheral
easily from this USB port.
Note: This extra USB pass through connector doesn’t support another model of pure card reader.
Booting from CF memory card
This reader can boot from CF slot like as Floppy disk drive, but your system BIOS must support and
has changed to booting from USB device setting, otherwise you can’t boot from this reader.
Please see the following example to check your BIOS CMOS setting and change “First Boot Device”
to “USB-HDD”.
Note: The BIOS setup utility is constantly update, the following BIOS screen descriptions are for reference
purposes only and may not reflect your BIOS screens exactly. We recommend you to refer your
motherboard hardware manual to do this change.
1. To access the BIOS setup program. Press the “Delete” key after the computer has run through its
POST (the Power-On Self Test).
2. Select “Advanced BIOS Features” to next.

3. Change First Boot Device to “USB-HDD”, then save and exit CMOS setup utility.
How to swap your front bezel
If you want to change bezel to different color, find a stylus or pin-like tool to press the plastic-clip in
both sides and take off the front bezel. Then you can replace another bezel.
