1. Installation
Thin Client is already included in WebCCTV/QGuard core, starting from 6.5.2.0 version. For any actions with Thin
Client, .NET 4.5/5 needs to be installed on the machine. In case the component is absent, WebCCTV/QGuard will ask
about installation of the framework during the next product update.
2. Interface Overview
2.1. First Start
Thin Client software is installed along with WebCCTV/QGuard video server, so the only thing you need to start
working with Thin Client is valid external IP-address.
After the first launch of the site, you will see a window as shown below:
To use Thin Client you should type Windows user credentials, which are used to access the server machine.
2.2. Controls
After the successful login you will see minimalistic, yet intuitive and easy to understand user interface.
Since Thin Client is one page web-based application, all its functions are located in certain blocks on the main page
of the site.
After uploading the site user will see the following features:
SingleView — expands or collapses the camera list and allows to start Live and Playback video by clicking on
the corresponding buttons.
With multiple servers in list, all cameras will be combined into groups by server’s name
MosaicView — expands or collapses the list of configured mosaics and allows adding a new mosaic.
Mosaic list is stored on the client side, so it is unique for each client device and it is initially empty
Search function — allows filtering the camera or server list by typing a part of its name in the search field.
Search results will be displayed in the camera list

3. Single View
Single View mode consists of camera list grouped by server. Each camera list contains buttons for switching
between Live and Playback mode. All cameras which appear in camera list are configured on WebCCTV/QGuard
side and cannot be changed via Thin Client settings.
To access the cameras you should add all of them using WebCCTV/QGuard video manager tool. For more information
on adding and configuring cameras please refer to WebCCTV User Manual.
3.1. Camera List
Camera list is the main field in SingleView. It contains thumbnails for each camera with the camera name, Live and
Playback buttons. If total amount of all cameras is more than 6, camera names are shown without thumbnails.
To see Live video from a camera, click on the Live button on the corresponding thumbnail or camera name. To
playback recorded video from a camera, click “Playback” button to open a date and time selection calendar.
3.2. Live View
Live View allows user to see live video stream from the certain camera. If you want to start live stream, all you have
to do is just to click on “Live” button or thumbnail of the chosen camera. Live View will also start if you drag and drop
camera into the main window.
Live View mode has the following features:
Full Screen — mode which allows to show video on fullscreen (available on desktop versions only).
It will open after clicking on the main window
Screenshot — function which creates screenshot of the main window and allows you to examine the
picture later. For more convenient usage it already contains information about server, camera name and
time of the screenshot in its title. Button is located on the right upper corner and it is available on desktop
and mobile version (depends on the browser). To save screenshots on mobile device that does not support
this function, you should use your phone tools such as screensaver

It will appear if camera has PTZ-function
Stop video — this button stops any Live or Playback video from the camera that streams in the main window
3.3. Playback
Playback mode is one of the most important functions of surveillance cameras, allowing user to check recordings
from a certain camera. Thin Client has very minimalistic interface, thus for operating in playback mode, you have
only two main features: calendar and video player itself. If you want to use such functions as Smart Search, MultiPlayback and Movie-Export, please use full WebCCTV/QGuard client.
3.4. Calendar
For choosing the exact day and hour of your incident, Thin Client has special Calendar function. To find the exact
recording you can select Month and Date in the Calendar, and move Hours and Minutes sliders to the desired
position. If the date contains no recordings, the button will be unavailable, so you can easily see the dates where
there are existing recordings.

will start in the main video. If you do not need the Calendar anymore you can close it by clicking on “Close” button.
3.5. Player
Player starts playing video from the date and minute you chose in the Calendar. By default the sliders are positioned
at the date and time of the earliest available recording for the chosen date.
Each video is limited to 60 min (by default). When the current video comes to an end, next video will be loaded.
Both versions of Thin Client have identical behavior, so it will be easy for you to work with player on desktop and
mobile clients.
Player contains the following controls:
Play/Pause — function that allows user to pause the playback or continue playing if it was paused for some
reason
Player slider — helps user to put playback to see what has happen in certain moment during the chosen
period of time
Duration indicator — displays the exact length of the playback that was chosen in certain period of time
(depends on the browser)
Fullscreen mode — allows user to maximize video window and to see all details more clearly. Available only

this particular client device will appear in this list. Please note that all mosaics are unique to client devices where they

By clicking the “+ add new mosaic” button you will see a new window which allows you to choose the cameras you
want to see simultaneously on the screen. Cameras from different servers will appear in certain block, related to
servers’ name.
