A/V EQUIPMENT INSTRUCTIONS AL-105

►Press AutoPC Adj on the remote when you see
your image.
►If you don't see your image, review instructions.
You may need to “force” the signal out of your
laptop. Call Quick Help above if you need help.
►For Internet access plug in blue network cable
,go to
www.laptop.uwaterloo.ca and logon.
Note: “NO SHOW” button on remote gives a black screen until you press
it again. Projector is still on though! Be sure to turn it off at class end.
NEVER go into the “Menu” button or you may accidentally change
critical settings, making projector unusable by you , and other instructors!
Getting Started- Do this first:
Unlock cabinet
Call ext. 84070 for key permit information.
Turn on Projector: Get Sanyo brand remote control, pictured
above, with thick cable attached, from podium cabinet, push red
ON/OFF button for a full second. Wait 20 seconds for light.
NOTE: To turn off when done, push red ON/OFF button
TWO times.
Projection Screen: The switch is in the wall, to your left,
marked Up/Down/Stop
All Audio: Turn on black amplifier with the round power button
on right side. Set 16mm/Master knob at “4”, and adjust the
appropriately labeled knob: FM Mic, DVD/VCR, or Computer
/Laptop. 16Mm sound is controlled with the Master knob.
Computer monitor: Flip switch on power bar in cabinet
labeled “Monitor”. Tap Space bar to “wake up” monitor.
Show Videotape
► Turn on VCR/DVD Combo unit and load tape.
►Press the DVD/VCR Select button so that “VCR”
is lit, to the left of the button.
►On projector remote, press INPUT button until
INPUT 3 shows briefly in upper left corner of
screen.
► Use the VCR/DVD buttons or the VCR/DVD
remote to control the tape.
►Adjust the amplifier knob marked DVD/VCR
Show DVD
►Turn on DVD player and load disk.
►Press the DVD/VCR Select button so that
“DVD” is lit, to the left of the button.
►On projector remote, press INPUT button until
INPUT 3 shows briefly in upper left corner of
screen.
► Use the DVD player buttons or the VCR/DVD
remote to control the DVD disk.
►Adjust the amplifier knob marked DVD/VCR.

Wireless Mic: Power button is on top. Swap
Project Nexus Computer
►Press INPUT button on remote until “Input 2” shows briefly
on the upper left corner of the screen. It takes a second to
show up.
►On the box labeled EXTRON, (near your right knee) flip the
small silver switch marked “Computer” upward.
►Press AutoPC ADJ on the remote when you see your image.
Project Laptop Computer
►Carefully connect VGA cable at top of cabinet to VGA port of
Laptop. Take care when disconnecting to avoid pin damage!
►Press INPUT button on remote until “Input 2” shows briefly
on the upper left corner of the screen.
►On the box labeled EXTRON, (near your right knee) flip the
small silver switch marked “Laptop” downward.
batteries with those in battery charger only when
they “die”. Carefully note polarity in the charger and
the mic. Adjust “FM Mic” knob on amplifier.
Lighting:
Adjust lights to avoid glare on the projection screen.
Controls are to your left, in the wall.
Wireless Mouse: Gently pull “trigger” on
underside, move your hand to move the cursor. It may
take a couple of minutes to get the hang of it. Use the
large buttons on top as left and right mouse buttons.
Useful for advancing Powerpoint.
Finished?
If you turned it on, turn it off. Lock everything
away!
