Installation Instructions (Refer to Fig. 1–2 and accessories picture)
The RadioLink DAC consists of two parts, one the transmitter and two the
receiver.
The transmitter picks up sound from the TV and that sound is transmitted
to the receiver. The receiver amplifiers the sound and sends it to the user either
via headphones or a neckloop and hearing aid. The receiver is powered by
a rechargeable battery. The transmitter is mains powered and connection of
the transmitter to the TV can be via digital or analogue audio out as the
RadioLink DAC is compatible to both methods.
1. Place the RadioLink DAC™ transmitter on shelf under or next to TV.
2. Plug the RadioLink DAC™ mains power adapter (5 or 6) into a standard
electrical power socket, then plug the power lead into socket
(1 Fig. 1).
3. Plug other 12V power adapter into a standard wall socket and then plug
its power lead into the socket on the charging base (2). The red power LED
on the charger base will light when power is supplied to the base.
4. Place receiver (1) into the charging base (2). Ensure the
receiver is switched off via the yellow on/off volume wheel.
The charge LED will be red when charging and green when
fully charged. The receiver will only charge until full and
cannot be overcharged.
5.When connecting the transmitter to a TV which has
digital optical Audio output (see page 7) use the Toslink
cable (4) to connect from the TV digital output socket to
the RadioLink DAC™ digital socket (3 Fig. 1).
NOTE if no sound signal is going
into the RadioLink DAC™ from the TV the LED (4 Fig. 1) no signal will be lit.
4
6. When connecting to a TV that has analogue audio output sockets
(see page 8) connect the lead (10) to the phono audio output sockets
on the TV and connect the other end to the line socket (5 Fig 1) .
7. If connecting via SCART socket, attach the SCART adapter (7)
to the phono lead (10).
8. If using the microphone, plug the 3,5mm jack on the microphone (8)
into the microphone socket on the RadioLink™DAC (6 Fig 1), then fix
the microphone to the speaker of the TV see picture below.
9. Switch the RadioLink DAC™
transmitter on (8 Fig 2); the red on LED
will be lit. NOTE the transmit LED (7 Fig 2)
will flash when the transmitter is connected
correctly to a valid audio source and is
transmitting.
10. If the sound is not clear try changing the
channel (2 Fig 1).
11.Remove the receiver from the charging base and fully insert the
headset or neckloop into the phone socket of the receiver.
12. Ensure the volume is at zero, put on the headset or neckloop. If
you are using the neckloop set your hearing aids to the “T” setting. Adjust
the volume to a comfortable listening level.
13. Tone can be adjusted via the three position switch on the side of the
receiver.
14. When you are finished using the receiver switch it off and place it
back into the charging base.

Audio out
SCART sockets
Audio out
When connecting to a TV the first thing to look for is red
and white audio out sockets, these are usually at the back of the TV,
and usually indicated by a circle with an arrow pointing out of it.
Connecting from audio out will always provide the correct sound for
The program that is being watched. Note the red white and yellow or
red white and blue sockets marked component in are for sound and
picture in and do not give sound out. It may also be possible to
connect to SCART socket if using the TV built in freeview.
Headphone socket
If the TV has no audio out sockets or they are not working,
the next thing to try is the headphone socket. Simply switch the TV on
and insert the 3.5mm jack plug into the headphone socket, if the sound
is not cut from the speakers then connect from this and into the line in
on the RadioLink DAC™. You will then have to adjust the headphone
volume level on the TV, this is done by pressing the menu button on
the TV remote, selecting sound and then moving the headphone volume
to about two thirds full.
Microphone pick up
If the TV has no audio out and the headphone connection cuts the sound
from the TV speakers, simply pick up sound by fixing the microphone
provided to the speaker of the TV.

Receiver works with headset but not
with neckloop.
Background hum when using
neckloop.
Sound not correct for program being
watched.
Sound out of sync with picture.
Resolution
If the transmit light is not flashing on
the transmitter, this indicates that no
sound is being fed into the
transmitter. Check the instruction
manual of your TV or audio device to
ensure you are connected to audio
out and that it is active.
Try changing the channel on the
transmitter (2 fig 1)
If using neckloop, try listening with
headset. If sound is clear with
headset the fault may be the hearing
aid or neckloop.
If connected via digital optical Toslink
cable check the no signal LED. If it is
lit no sound is being picked up from
the TV. refer to TV manual to activate
digital out.
Headset broken.
Neckloop broken or hearing aid does
not have T setting activated.
It may be caused by other electronic
interference in room. Switch off
transmitter leave hearing aids on T
setting and try to find source.
