Application:
Hardness reference plates are indispensable tools for indirect and periodic checking the functioning and measuring the uncertainty of hardness
testing devices.
Requirements to hardness reference plates (HVPL) as calibration
masters:
HVPLs should embody the measured variables as accurately as possible
and remain unchanged over their service life. This means during the production of these plates, a uniform hardness (homogeneity of the structure) must be aimed for over the complete tested surface. Nowadays this
is achieved by selecting the correct material and thermal treatment.
