A 114-key ultra-compact, QWERTY keyboard with two rows of function keys
ideal for retail point of sale, and general purpose use.
Description
The AKC114 is a QWERTY-over-POS style, compact
programmable keyboard ideal for POS and general
purpose applications. The 114 key keyboard combines an
exceptionally small size with a rugged construction.
All AKC keyboards are made using high quality switches
with a rated life of more than 50 million operations, and are
designed to withstand years of use in highly demanding
environments (go to www.access-is.com/keyboard-reliability
for further information on how reliability is designed into AKC
keyboards). Cool white and dark grey case colours match
industry standard peripherals.
Access IS provides a configuration service to customise
keypads with special key top layouts, colours and legends.
All keys on the AKC114 are fully programmable. The
Access IS SoftProg32 Windows® configuration software
enables users to design their own layouts. Key positions
can be programmed to have a single character or string
of characters. Adjacent keys may be combined to provide
double and quad keys. Keys may also be disabled using a
key switch lock-out cover.
The keyboard has a PS/2 or USB interface and, optionally on
the USB version, two bus-powered hub ports for connecting
another keyboard, a mouse or other USB1.1 devices which
draw less than 100 mA.

Flexibility and Reliability
The majority of all keyboards manufactured by Access are based on a proven
and well established modular design. When combined with our ability to offer
custom keysets, non-standard housing colours and application-specific keyboard
programming, we are able to offer an infinite number of keyboard variations from

a family of 12 base designs with 48 to 127 fully-programmable keys.

• A biometric fingerprint reader can be added for user ID acceptance, providing a
reader option
