Initial operation
1)
Insert the supplied mains adapter into a wall socket and
connect the other end to the low voltage jack.
2)
Insert the supplied CD and install the FTDI driver. You will
now find a new COM interface in your Control Panel,
which must subsequently correspond with the interface in
your configuration tool.
3)
Now install the configuration software using the setup
feature.
4)
Connect the device to your computer. The device is
automatically recognised; follow the instructions in the
Windows dialogue box if applicable. The necessary device
driver can be found on the CD.
5)
Open the configuration programme and adjust the device
according to your requirements. The various settings are
described in the following chapters.
Configuration tool for eMusic
The device is factory preconfigured and only needs to be
individually adapted to the IP network (ask your system
administrator).

ARIA eMusic
Settings
Some settings will need to be implemented in order for the device
to be able to retrieve data in normal everyday operation. Fields 2 4 must be completed for this purpose.

1) MAC address
Media Access Control
Unchangeable, physically fixed address of a network
component.
The current address is displayed after the initial data
reception process.
2) DHCP setting
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
Dynamic allocation of IP addresses from a defined address
pool. If DHCP is enabled in your network, the setting will be
assigned automatically. You can also manually assign an IP

address, in which you enter the Local IP, Subnet and
Gateway. If you have any queries at this point, please
contact your system administrator.
3) DNS/POP3 settings
DNS (Domain Name System) is automatically assigned by
the DHCP server. If one is not available in the network, the
DNS specifications are to be transferred from the DSL
provider.
If you have any queries at this point, please contact your
system administrator or provider.
4) POP3 access data
Access data for calling up the stored files. This is where the
name (user name) of the e-mail mailbox and associated
password are entered.
Example:
User name:
Password:
my.name@arcor.de
my password
If you have any queries at this point, please contact your
system administrator.
Sending new music
Open your e-mail account (e.g. Outlook) and send the new piece
of music to the e-mail address entered in the device.
The subject line should only contain the word moh to enable the
device to identify the e-mail.

Loading new music from the mailbox
The device automatically searches the mailbox every 12 hours for
new moh messages and downloads these independently.
To shorten this time or to simulate the process the device is
equipped with a button for manual download. This requires the
button to be depressed for 2 seconds, after which the device
automatically establishes the connection to download the stored
mail. Depending on the size of the file, this process may take
several minutes. When accessing the new file the green LED is off
and the orange LED on the network jack flashes.
Note:
The mailbox must be emptied after each upload process. This can
be conducted automatically (software setting) or the mailbox must
be emptied manually. Otherwise the device would always switch
on and retrieve the same mail.

Troubleshooting
eMusic is not recognised!
A new interface is entered in the control panel when installing the
driver. If the COM interface is greater than 8, it must be renamed
in the driver under "Advanced".
Problems with the DNS setting!
If the POP3 server is in its own LAN (e.g. for test purposes), the
DNS service must be deactivated and the IP of the POP3 server
entered in the designated field.
If the POP3 server has a static IP address on the Internet, the
DNS service must be deactivated.
The same music is always played back, even though an upload
has been completed!
The mailbox must be emptied after each upload process. This can
be conducted automatically (software setting) or the mailbox must
be emptied manually. Otherwise the device would always switch
on and retrieve the same mail.
