Product Description The FOTON 1 is a man-machine interface used to show messages and operands values in a LCD, as well as interact with the system through a membrane keyboard. The messages may be composed by ASCII code characters and memory operands, which are supervised while the message is being displayed. The FOTON 1 sends to the PLC a scan code correspondent to the pressed key. All communication between FOTON 1 and PLC (messages upload and configuration) is done through the serial port. The FOTON 1 may be connected directly to the RS-232C port of an AL-600, AL-2000, AL-3000, Quark and Piccolo PLC Series or to the I/O Cards Bus by an AL-1401, QK1401, AL-1402 or QK1402 interface cards. It is also possible to connect a FOTON 1 to a RS-485 serial port, for instance to a QK801 PLC using the F-ALNET1.062 software function. It may use the same message file from the FOTON 3 MMI, but with a 50 messages limit, instead of 100. The message programming is done by the PROFOTON software. 2.
