CONNECTING YOUR DEVICE TO THE PROJECTOR 1. First determine which port(s) and display technology your device has, and which port you would like to use to connect to the projector. The guide below can help you identify what you have. 2. If your device has anything other than a full size HDMI port, select the correct adapter from the kit. They are numbered to match the selection guide below. Install the chosen adapter on one end of the HDMI cable. 3. Insert the adapted end of the HDMI cable into the appropriate port on your device. 4. Insert the remaining end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on the projector. 5. Turn on the projector. 6. Turn on your device. Disclaimer: We have included adapters for the most common connectors, but cannot accommodate every possible device. You are responsible for your own equipment. Do not force adapters or cables into ports. WHAT KIND OF PORT DO I HAVE ON MY DEVICE? Windows Laptops HDMI® Port [HDMI cable A] If your device has a regular, full size HDMI port, you will not need an adapter. HDMI® Mini Port [HDMI Cable A + Adapter 1] If your device has a mini HDMI port, you can use adapter number 1 to connect your device to the projector. This port is commonly found on laptops, and two-in-one notebook computers. USB-C Port [HDMI Cable A + Adapter 2] If your device has a USB-C (also called USB Type C) port, you can use adapter 2 to connect your device to the projector. This port is most commonly found on newer, ultrathin systems. Check your manufacturer’s specs to determine if your device has a USB-C port. VGA Port [VGA Cable B + Audio Cable C] If your device does not have an HDMI port at all, but does have a VGA port, use the VGA cable in the kit instead of the HDMI cable. VGA transmits only the picture to the projector and not sound. If you need sound and you are using VGA, you will also need to connect the audio cord to the headphone jack on the device and the “audio in” port on the projector. Mac Laptops USB-C Port [HDMI Cable A + Adapter 2] If your device has a USB-C (also called USB Type C) port, you can use adapter 2 to connect your device to the projector. This port is most commonly found on newer, ultrathin systems. Check your manufacturer’s specs to determine if your device has a USB-C port. Mini DisplayPort Port [HDMI Cable A + Adapter 3] If your device has a Mini DisplayPort port, use adapter 3 to connect your device to the projector. This port is commonly found on MacBook and Mac Pro computers manufactured between late 2008 and mid2012. You can check https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202079 for additional information. Mini-DVI Port [HDMI Cable A + Adapter 4] If your Apple computer has a mini-DVI connector, use adapter 4 to connect your Apple computer to the projector. This port is commonly found on the Apple PowerBook G4, iMac, and MacBook Intel-based laptops. Apple iPads and iPhones Lightning Port [HDMI Cable A + Adapter 5] If your Apple device has a Lightning connector, use adapter 5 to connect to the projector. This port is commonly found on Apple iPhones and iPads. Android Tablets and Phones HDMI® Micro Port [HDMI Cable A + Adapter 6] If you device has a mini HDMI port, use adapter 6 to connect your device to the projector. This is the smallest current HDMI connector. It is supported on devices made by leading manufacturers like HTC, Samsung and Motorola on models like the EVO 4G, Galaxy S and Droid X. Micro-USB Port—SlimPort or MHL [HDMI Cable A + Adapter 7 or 8] If your device has a micro-USB port along the side, or back, it may use the SlimPort standard or the MHL standard to transmit video and sound. You cannot tell whether your device uses SlimPort or MHL just by looking at the port. Check your manufacturer’s specs. Check this listing of SlimPort devices: http://us.slimportconnect.com/slimport-supported-devices/ Use adapter 7 for SlimPort. Check this listing of MHL devices: http://www.mhltech.org/devices.aspx Use adapter 8 for MHL.
