ArcGIS 10.2 Download and Installation Instructions
Updated January 20, 2014, Clarkson University
ArcGIS is available to all students, faculty and staff of Clarkson University. It can be installed to any on-campus
computer and authorized through the campus Flex LM License Administrator or installed on a personal machine
with a unique authorization code. Authorization codes can be accessed by contacting Bill Olsen (268-3878) in the
CEE Department. The authorization code will enable the software for 1-year periods. After the one year period,
there is no need to re-install the software, just contact Bill again to receive a new authorization file.
1. The software installation package can be copied from
S:/Classes/GIS/Software_Installs/ArcGIS_Desktop_102_135736.exe
2. It is recommended that you copy this file to your flash drive and then to your computer's hard drive.
3. Open the EXE file and click OK to extract the file to the default directory.
4. From the Quickstart Guide, choose Setup under ArcGIS for Desktop.
5. Choose Next and accept the license agreement.
6. Click next a few times (it is recommended that you keep the default installation directories) and when the
installation completes, click Finish.
