REV Robotics,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Building Guide

Below you will find brief information for Building System, Control Hub, Expansion Hub, Core Hex DC Motor, Servo, Linear Motion Kit.. This document provides an overview of the parts included in the system and some example building techniques to help you build your robot. The system was designed with flexibility in mind, where every bracket and part can be mounted in infinite locations along the REV Rails, making it easier to tune your design and speed up iterations.

Frequently asked questions

The REV Robotics 15mm Building System for FIRST Global only requires a few basic tools. A 5.5mm Nut Drive, 5.5mm Combination Wrench, 1.5mm Allen Wrench, 2mm Allen Wrench, Small Pliers, a Chain Breaker, Hack Saw, Chop Saw, Band Saw, Diagonal/Flush Cutter, File/Sandpaper are all optional, but recommended.

This system uses both analog and digital sensors. Some analog sensors include: Potentiometers. Some digital sensors include: Limit Switches. This system also utilizes I2C sensors such as the 9-Axis IMU (inertial measurement unit) and the Color/Distance Sensor.

The REV Robotics Building System uses plastic brackets, which are nominally 3mm thick and made from molded nylon (PA66). The system offers both Motion brackets and Construction brackets. Motion brackets are used to attach motors, potentiometers and other mechanical parts. Construction brackets are used in the assembly of your robot, and include brackets for inside corners, lap joints, and a variable angle bracket.
