Dimmable Electronic Control Gears (DIM ECGs) are playing an increasingly important role in all modern lighting applications.
Dimmable ECGs, integrated in a building management system, form the heart of intelligent lighting systems and save up to

LED control gears.
LED technology is changing the world of general lighting. In luminaire design, however, the numerous benefits of LEDs can
only be achieved with perfectly matched control gears and dimmers. Nowadays, long-life LED modules require long-life
equipment – such as our OPTOTRONIC® control gears and dimmers. Moreover, LED technologies also provide a high level of
flexibility in luminaire design. OPTOTRONIC® control gears contribute to this flexibility by allowing a wide power and current
range and with their future-proof design, which makes them ready for coming LED generations. In addition, OPTOTRONIC®
control gears offer various dimming methods that lead to higher energy savings and thus make today‘s LED systems highly
economical solutions.
Constant voltage DALI® dimmer.
The Constant voltage DALI® family is composed of intelligent dimmers with an interface
that complies with the DALI® standard. Alternatively, the Touch DIM® function (single
switch operation, without a controller) can be used to control brightness with a singlepush button. The advantage of PMW (Pulse Wide Modulation) brightness control is
that it eliminates flicker, allowing the light output to be regulated according to individual
requirements.

Constant voltage 1…10 V dimmer.
The 1…10 V dimmer family enables LED modules to be dimmed individually by pulse width
modulation (PWM). In the pulse width modulation, the power supply to the LED modules is
interrupted at a frequency of 135 Hz. This means that the amount of light produced can be
set individually. This technology produces an exactly linear dimming characteristic during
maximum dimming rates. The LED dimmers can be controlled via a 1…10 V interface which
means that standard controllers, such as the OSRAM DIM MCU, or commercially available
potentiometers (i. e. 100 kΩ log.) are suitable for this purpose. In addition, the DALI® CON
1…10 V converter can be integrated into a DALI® system.

Constant voltage DMX dimmer.
The DMX constant voltage family is used for connecting constant voltage LED
luminaires or modules and enables the user to create homogeneous colour moods,
simulate daylight and create dynamic lighting effects in combination with appropriate
DMX control units and user interfaces. By means of DMX signals, Led dimmers mix
the colours of the LED modules by means of pulse-width modulation with fast colour
changing sequences allowed by a very fast dimming characteristic and full dimming
range from 0.1…100 %.

Constant current LED dimmer.
The Constant current LED dimmer family controls high-power LED fixtures with
a DMX signal using linear current or PWM dimming. It is designed for use with
both 350mA and 700mA driving currents. The dimmers can be interconnected to
control large installations by DMX signal. Within a DMX network, connected highpower LED fixtures can be controlled by a central DMX controller (e. g. OSRAM
EASY DMX SO).

DALI® (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is an international, non-proprietary, digital
communication standard for modern lighting applications. DALI® enables simple and
cost effective control of lighting systems without the need for complicated wiring. The
interface permits control of a maximum of 64 DALI® ECG with a high degree of flexibility,
via a 2 wire control line. Individually, jointly or in as many as 16 groups.
