** This room utilizes a ceiling-mounted projector focused on an electric
screen, controlled on the touch panel, as well as by a wall switch located
near the equipment rack. **
Displaying PC or Laptop

the equipment rack. Access code to the rack and the panel
provided upon authorization. Current note: the touch panel
should only be used while connected to its base in the rack.
“Press anywhere” on the Crestron panel’s welcome screen to
wake up the system. Following a text prompt, enter the access
code on the touch panel, followed by “Enter”.
Select PC/LAPTOP for the bench-located PC, or the benchlocated laptop cable. The system will auto-detect and switch
between the two. Please allow enough time for the projector to
warm up. Note well: Per user requests, the PC local monitor
may be stored in the drawer under the bench, left of the PC.
You may remove it and insert its base into a lab bench peg hole.
Select RACK LAPTOP if you plugged your device into the
VGA connection point at the equipment rack. We recommend a
resolution of 1280x1024 for best display results. PC displays
are not viewable in the touch panel, but your video sources can
be viewed, as described below. MAC and Display Port users
should provide their own adapter.
PC LOGON: **Use your UNET name and password, in
the USERS domain. ** Going wireless with a laptop: You
can log on using your UNET name and password, or if your
laptop is not registered on the network, you can log onto the
guest network when prompted, after opening a browser.
5. Volume levels from any source may be controlled using the
VOLUME buttons on the touch panel. Make sure audio amp
(and all rack items) are powered ON for proper performance.
Playing DVDs or Videotapes, Displaying LabCam
1. Access the rack, in the front corner of Abelson 131.
2. Insert your DVD disc or VHS tape as appropriate.
3. Press the appropriate input source button on the touch panel

display on its screen. Touch image to enlarge to a full screen
preview. Touch again to revert to a small window view.
Use the transport controls for your selected device. Controls will
be found either on the touch panel, or on the units themselves.
You can display the Lab Cam, using the front Video Input on
the VHS. Video cable is stored in rack.
Playing Audio CDs
Audio CDs are played using the DVD player, the installed PC or a laptop.
1. Insert your CD into the player of choice.
2. Press the appropriate selection button on the touch panel.
3. Use the transport controls for your selected device. Controls will
be found either on the touch panel, or on the unit. Using the
touch panel ROOM CONTROLS, you can MUTE the image or
POWER OFF the display during audio playback.

Using the Document Camera - (DOC CAM input rack still
under construction.)
1. Press the DOC CAM source button on the touch panel. If you
are “turning on” the system, follow the instructions above. The
projector will power on automatically. Please allow enough
time for the projector to warm up. The Doc Cam is located to
the instructor’s right at the lab bench. A video cable should be
coiled up at the camera. You need to connect the video cable to
the rack input labeled “Doc Cam” before display is possible.
Unlock: Press this to release and raise the camera, @ the back left corner.
Power: Turns the unit on or off. It’s located on the back of the unit.
Light: Illuminates the viewing area. Press repeatedly for the 3 available
light modes: upper lamps, sub surface lamps, or no lamps.
Zoom: Allows you to enlarge/magnify the document
Focus: Allows the image to be focused.
Using the Microphones
There are two wireless microphones you can use simultaneously. One is
a hand held unit, and another is a lavaliere (body pack) model.
1. Remove either of the wireless microphones from the rack drawer.
2. Turn the microphone’s power switch “ON.” Adjust room
volume using the SPEECH VOLUME buttons on the touch
panel. Spare batteries are kept in the drawer.
3. Volume levels from any source may be controlled using the
PROGRAM VOLUME buttons on the touch panel, and are
independent of speech volume controls. Make sure audio
amplifier (and all rack items) are powered ON for proper
performance.
Assisted Listening
One listening receiver is available in the rack drawer. Contact Media
Technology Services (MTS) for additional units or assistance with the
system.
Lighting Controls
*** Currently, this auditorium utilizes previously installed wall and
bench located switches for lighting control. Please contact Facilities
(ext 6-4385) for additional lighting assistance***
*When Finished* -- PLACE THE TOUCH PANEL BACK
ON ITS CHARGER, and RETURN ALL ITEMS SO OTHERS MAY
USE THE SYSTEM SUCCESSFULLY.
Press the SHUT SYSTEM DOWN button on the touch panel. Follow the
instructions on the touch screen and press YES, TURN THE SYSTEM
OFF. Please be sure the projector begins its 90 second shutdown process.
Return and lock up microphones, remotes, keyboard, mouse, or other
technology related items to the rack drawer and lock it up!
