Using the Pro Set Elite iC with the NCS-C003 Headset Interface Box
To connect the Pro Set Elite iC to the NCS-C003 Headset Interface Box requires the NCS-003HHS-0.7 Headset Adaptor Cable. The two Pro Set Elite iC 3.5 mm phone plugs connect to their
respective jacks on the Headset Adaptor Cable. Make sure that the color of the plug and jack
match. The optional NCS-F230 Hand Switch is connected directly to the ¼ inch phone jack on
the front of the NCS-C003.

Installation of Microphone Jumpers in the NCS-C250
Microphone jumpers must be installed in the NCS-C250 to match the pin outs of the NCS-C003
Headset Interface Box. The proper installation of the mic jumpers for use with the NCS-C003
and adaptor cable is shown below. After all jumpers are installed refer to the NCS-C250
Instruction Manual and set the mic audio level for proper audio output.
The Sel Audio and Unsel Audio jumpers can be swapped to reverse the audio in the headset
earpieces.

To connect the Pro Set iC to the RJ45 mic jack on the NCS-C250 requires the NCS-250-HHS-216
Headset Adaptor Cable. The RJ45 plug on the adaptor cable connects to the mic jack on the front
or rear of the NCS-C250. The two Pro Set 3.5 mm phone plugs connect to their respective jacks on
the Headset Adaptor Cable. Make sure that the colors of the plugs and jacks match. The optional
NCS-F230 Hand Switch is connected via the ¼ inch phone jack on the Headset Adaptor Cable.

The microphone boom has a steel rod inside that can be easily bent to place the microphone
holder in the desired position.

The Heil PRO SET Elite iC is equipped with an electret microphone element. This element has
a wide frequency response for full voice range articulation. The element is optimized with an
increased output of +6 dB at 2000 Hz (middle of the human voice pattern).

phone plug. A RED band around the plug housing identifies this phone plug.

Installation of Microphone Jumpers in the NCS-C250

Jumpers must be installed in the NCS-C250 so that the RJ45 mic jack pin-outs on the front and rear
panels match that of the NCS-250-HSS-216 Headset Adaptor Cable. Refer to the NCS-C250
Instruction Manual for detail instructions on setting these jumpers.

The Phase Reversal Switch allows the operator to acoustically “move” the signal being
monitored just by reversing the phase switch. This feature is best used when monitoring
multiple signals as in HF operation. In one position the signals appear to be centered between
the two speakers while the other position creates a spatially widening sound field that appears
to “spread” multiple signals making the desired signal easier to copy.
