VMware License Registration Guide

Thank you for purchasing VMware pre-installed on your NEC server. NEC has created this guide to walk you through the process of obtaining license key(s) for your VMware software.

VMware Software Subscription Services

VMware will provide the software subscription service that has been sold with this software license. To access your VMware software and subscription service, you must register

within 30 days. You establish entitlement to software subscription service by registering your activation code. Software subscription service is provided as defined under the “VMware Gold

Support & Subscription Service" section of the VMware Technical Support Guide, posted on

VMware’s Web site at http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/support/tech_support_guide.pdf

.

“Product Updates” and “Product Upgrades” will be provided to you directly by VMware for the first year. NEC or VMware will contact you for subsequent years of software subscription service.

To receive proper subscription services, you must register the activation code and exchange

it for a license key (serial number). When you register your Activation Code, you will be prompted to enter the email address of the person to be listed as the VMware License

Administrator for the product you have purchased. The VMware License Administrator is the person who will receive the initial VMware product serial number and all future serial numbers for the registered product under VMware subscription services. The License Administrator is responsible for receiving and administering software product licenses, updates, and upgrades from VMware. If you have activation codes for more than one purchase, you can register all of the activation codes to one License Administrator or you can divide them among several different License Administrators. It is also possible for a registered License Administrator to register additional License Administrators for the same product by sending an email request to [email protected]

. For more information on License Administrators, please refer to VMware

Inc.’s “VMware Technical Support Guide.”
