Twin Tec TCFI III Fuel Injection Controller Installation Instructions

Below you will find brief information for Fuel Injection Controller TCFI III. The TCFI III Fuel Injection Controller is designed to replace the original equipment (OE) 36 pin Delphi® controller on 2001-2009 Harley-Davidson® motorcycles with fuel injected Twin-Cam series engines. The TCFI will require initial setup and tuning of the fuel tables. The USB interface is required for setup. The wide-band oxygen sensor interface is required for auto-tuning fuel tables. The TCFI III kit includes the new WEGO IIID dual channel wide-band exhaust gas oxygen sensor interface that allows simultaneous front and rear cylinder auto-tuning during actual riding conditions. The WEGO IIID interface uses low cost Bosch LSU 4.2 wide-band sensors.

Frequently asked questions

The TCFI III Fuel Injection Controller is designed to replace the original equipment (OE) 36 pin Delphi® controller on 2001-2009 Harley-Davidson® motorcycles with fuel injected Twin-Cam series engines. It is intended for 95 CID and larger high performance race engines that are expected to produce over 100 HP. The TCFI III solves tuning problems with highly modified engines.

Alpha-N fuel control is a type of fuel control that is based on throttle position and engine speed (RPM). It eliminates any dependence on manifold pressure and is unaffected by long duration/high overlap camshafts. Speed-density fuel control relies on manifold pressure and engine speed. Long duration/high overlap camshafts wreak havoc with manifold pressure - especially at idle and cruise RPM. Speed-density based fuel control simply can’t cope.

The WEGO IIID interface is a dual channel wide-band exhaust gas oxygen sensor interface that allows simultaneous front and rear cylinder auto-tuning during actual riding conditions. It uses low cost Bosch LSU 4.2 wide-band sensors.

The PC Link jumper wire is used to connect the TCFI module to the OE diagnostic connector. This allows you to use the PC Link TCFI III software for setup and tuning.

The check engine LED illuminates when the ignition switch is first turned on. It goes out when the system initialization is complete. If a diagnostic fault is detected while the engine is running, the LED will illuminate. Diagnostic codes can be read with a scan tool or by means of the TCFI Log software.
