The Model SRP-4x4 is a UL listed and FM approved, Fire
Alarm/Releasing Control Panel. Primarily designed for use as
a releasing panel for Pre-action and Deluge water-based extinguishing systems, it may also be used as a stand alone Fire Alarm
Control Panel and is ideally suited for many commercial and
light industrial applications.
The unit consists of a single multifunction control board for
flexibility in adapting to individual job requirements. Field selectable input and output configurations, detection circuits capable
of Class A (Style D) or Class B (Style B) service, battery charger/monitor, and ground fault detection are standard features of
the control panel. The versatile single board configuration
eliminates custom assembly of multiple modules thus ensuring
a streamlined system.
System Design F eatures
The SRP-4x4 is a four zone control panel designed for use with
Protectowire Linear Heat Detector, two wire smoke and heat
detectors, flame detectors and direct shorting devices such as
manual pull stations and water flow switches. The panel is UL
listed and FM approved for automatic release service.
The unit comes completely assembled in a surface mounted
enclosure. The traditional red textured finish resists scratches
and the durable, heavy-gauge steel cabinet has a piano hinged
door allowing for greater rigidity to prevent sagging.

Configuration: The control panel provides four Class A or B (Style
D or B) Initiating Circuits, one dedicated Class B (Style B)
Supervisory Circuit, and four Class B (Style Y) Output Circuits.
An optional Class A (Style Z) Output Module is available.
Programming: The four input circuits and four output circuits can
be configured into 16 standard operating programs that are field
selectable by utilizing a set of simple to operate dip switches.
Output 1 is reserved for use as a general alarm notification appliance
circuit, while Outputs 2, 3, and 4 can be configured in various
combinations as solenoid release circuits, or notification appliance
circuits suitable for fire alarm, water flow, or supervisory signaling.
For ease of servicing, Outputs 2, 3, and 4 have a disconnect switch
to prevent accidental operation. When activated, the disconnect
switch causes an off-normal supervisory indication at the control
panel. Cross-zoning configurations are limited to the following input
groupings: Inputs 1 and 2; Inputs 3 and 4.
Visual Indicators: Seven system status indicators are mounted on
the main control board. A green Power On LED, a red Common
Alarm LED, and five yellow LED’s indicating Ground Fault,
Battery Trouble, System Trouble, Output Disconnect Supervisory
and System Silence. Additional red and yellow LED’s are provided
for each of the four input and four output circuits to indicate individual zone Alarm and Trouble. The dedicated supervisory circuit
is provided with two yellow LED’s to indicate zone alarm and trouble.
System Controls: The system controls consist of two momentary
push button switches that provide the following functions: System
Silence, and System Reset. The switches are located on the main
control board and are accessible only by unlocking the enclosure door.
Protectowire Alarm Point Location Meter: The SRP-4x4
Control Panel is available with the PDM-1000-4 Alarm Point
Location Meter. This unique feature is designed to locate a heatactuated point on the Protectowire Linear Heat Detector. The high
intensity LCD meter will display the distance in feet or meters from
the start of the Detector portion of the zone to the heat actuated
point on the Protectowire Linear Heat Detector.
Class A (Style Z) Output Circuits: A conversion Module, Model
AM-91-2, is available to convert the standard Class B (Style Y) output circuits to Class A (Style Z) operation. Each AM-91-2 Module
will convert two output circuits.
Zone Alarm Relays: A zone operated Alarm Relay Board, Model
RB-4, is available that provides four SPDT relays, rated at 1 amp,
24 VDC. The RB-4 is designed for quick, easy field installation
and provides zone activated contacts for auxiliary alarm control and
annunciation functions.

• Four Class B (Style Y) Output Circuits, reverse polarity on alarm.
• Optional Class A (Style Z) AM-91-2 Module available.
• Output 1, dedicated to Common (General) Alarm signaling,
rated 24 V FWR, 1 amp continuous. Outputs 2, 3, and 4 are
rated at 1 amp each, 2.1 amp combined.
• Outputs 2, 3, and 4 are provided with a common disconnect
• UL listed compatible Solenoids (see manual) and FM Solenoid
Groups A, B, D, E, F, G & H.
• Remote Signaling SPDT Relays rated 3 amp, 30 VDC for Alarm,
Trouble, and Supervisory.
