PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
These Aprilaire® Power Stealing thermostats are designed for new or replacement heat/cool
applications where a common wire is not available or dual transformers are used. Each one represents
the latest in solid-state, surface-mounted electronics and manufacturing techniques, incorporated into
a unique, ultra-thin ABS plastic case. They offer “user-friendly” control {and programming with model
8552} of the heating and cooling system along with an easy-to-read vertical LCD that displays complete
equipment operation status. An easily installed direct wire sub-base mounts on a standard vertical
outlet box or any dry wall surface using provided anchors and hardware.

NOTE 1: 300 OHM, 5W load resistor supplied with the thermostat. Measure the A/C current
to each of the equipment terminals: any terminal whose current reading does not
exceed 80 mA {0.080 Amps} must have a load resistor installed to it in order to
ensure the thermostat will function properly. Install load resistors at the equipment.
Load resistors become hot during equipment operation: Do not let resistors touch
each other or any other components or wiring.
