Stripe Removal Tool
Instructions:
1. The 6670 must be used on tools that do not exceed 4000rpm. Under no circumstance should this
wheel be used on a tool that exceeds the recommended RPM’s. Do not modify the wheel in any way.
Using the wheel on tools that exceed the maximum RPM’s or tampering with the wheel may result in
wheel failure and/or disintegration and may result in injury and/or death.
2. Carefully screw the wheel into the tool mandrel.
Fig. 1
3. For best results, rough up the eraser wheel on a hard surface before using.
4. With the tool running, bring the edge of the wheel in contact with the material that you wish to remove. Apply light to
medium pressure. Be sure to use the edge of the wheel rather than the flat surface of the edge. You
will get optimal results by holding the tool at an angle (see Fig. 1). The wheel’s top surface should be
at about a 60 angle to the surface.
5. While applying pressure move the tool horizontally or vertically against the material you want to
remove.
6. Each wheel is marked with arrows identifying when the wheel should be discarded. Do not use the
Fig. 2
wheel beyond this point as there is an internal metal disk that could damage the surface (see Fig. 2).
7. After you have removed material, there may be some residue. Use a clean cloth with a mild polish
to remove the residue.
Maintence:
Air Pressure:
• Air pressure will determine tool performance and longevity. Low air pressure will cause the tool to work ineffectively
and “stutter” or “jump” on the surface.
• Excessive air pressure will cause the tool to run at RPM’s greater than recommended. This could also cause the
6670 Stripe Removal Wheel to shatter causing bodily injury. Lastly, running the tool at greater RPM’s than recommended will reduce bearing life.
Lubrication:
• The tool should be oiled daily to extend the tool’s usable life. Always use a #10 machine oil.
Manufacturers WARNINGs:
1. Study, understand and follow all instructions provided with the products. The owner and/or operator shall have an understanding of these operating instructions and warnings before operating. Warning information shall be emphasized and
understood. If the operator is not fluent in English, the instructions shall be read to and discussed with the operator in
operator’s native language by the purchaser/owner, making sure that the operator comprehends its content.
2. Stripe Removal Wheel must be used on tools with RPM speeds between 3200 to 4000rpm. Under no circumstances
should the wheel be used on a tool that operates above 4000rpm. Using the wheel on tools that exceed the maximum
RPM’s or tampering with the wheel may result in wheel failure and/or disintegration and may cause injury and/or death.
3. Never alter the threaded arbor! Altering the arbor voids ALL warranties of this product and may result in injury and/or
death.
4. Never use with standard non-geared die grinders.
5. Do not use if wheel is chipped, cracked or sliced. Use may result in wheel failure and/or disintegration and may cause
injury and/or death.
6. Always wear ANSI approved safety goggles! Power tools with rotating discs can cause flying particles.
7. Stripe Removal Wheel is not recommended for use on lacquer or acrylic lacquer paints.
8. This product may expose the user to dust and/or microscopic particles that may contain chemicals know to the State
of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Users of this product should review the chemical
composition of the work surface and any products used in conjunction with the operation of this tool for any such chemicals
prior to engaging in any activity that creates dust and/or microscopic particles. Users should obtain the Material Safety Data
Sheets for all identified chemicals, either from the manufacturer or their employer, and proceed to study, understand and
follow all instructions and warnings for exposure to such chemicals. A list of chemicals can be obtained from www.oehha.
org under Proposition 65. In order to reduce their exposure to such chemicals, users should always: work in well-ventilated
ares, wear appropriate safety equipment and clothing that are specifically designed to filter out microscopic particles.
