Safety Features:
The TetraSource 300 is the most advanced, intelligent digital electrophoresis
power source in it's class. Designed to power any combination of horizontal or
vertical electrophoresis units, it features a low profile, easy-to-use interface and
numerous safety features. Tactile buttons enable adjustment of voltage in 5 volt
steps, from 30 to 300 V, with a maximum current of 0.75 amps. The LED
displays voltage, current and time.
TO OPERATE
Load connect detection - unit will not function unless a
connection is made.
Current step-down over time - unit automatically lowers
current to accommodate multiple electrophoresis units
to avoid overload and prevent a blown fuse.
Recessed terminals - terminals are recessed to safely
accommodate leads.
Sealed casing - case is sealed to prevent liquid spills
from damaging sensitive internal parts.
Plug the TetraSource™ into a grounded outlet and turn the switch on.
The arrow ( ) indicates the desired mode. Press the MODE button to move the arrow to voltage (default). Press the “up” or “down” value
button to adjust the desired voltage. We recommend that you do not adjust the current, unless your protocol requires a specific amperage.
OPTIONAL – set the timer. Press the MODE button to toggle to time (the top line of the display screen). Press the “up” value until you reach
the desired time of your electrophoresis run. Load samples into gel. Be sure the unit is not running and connect the leads to the power supply
(black input is negative and red input is positive). Place lid onto electrophoresis unit(s), press Run button. NOTE – if you choose not set the
timer, the unit will run until you shut it off (the timer automatically counts up). If an adjustment in voltage, current, or time is needed, press
the STOP button to pause and press the MODE button to the desired function that you wish to change. After you have made your adjustment,
press RUN.

PRECAUTIONS, CARE & MAINTENANCE
Do not run the unit without an apparatus connected to it. Unplug the unit first, before disconnecting leads. Any electrophoresis
apparatus connected to the power supply unit should not be handled until the power is turned off and the leads are disconnected.
Under no circumstances should the outer encasement be removed from the power pack. Exercise caution whenever you are
using equipment that has the potential to generate high voltage. The unit should not be used to provide power in excess of
the number of inputs. Do not expose the power pack to water or organic solvents. If the power pack does not operate,
check the fuse and replace with an equivalent fuse if necessary. If replacement of the fuse does not result in
resuming operation, call EDVOTEK for consultation at 1.800.EDVOTEK.
Note: Standard agarose gels run with TAE or TBE buffer should not be run at voltages
higher than 150 V. The heat generated by the current will likely melt the gels.
