Determine the install location of the Motion Sensor Box
(C). The Sensor Box should be located about 2” above
the floor of the safe, and about 2-4” away from the
inside front of the safe on the hinge side. The Sensor
Box should be mounted vertically, with wires at the
bottom facing the safe’s floor. Remove the backing from
the double-sided adhesive attached to the Sensor Box
before securing against your safe’s clean surface. You
may mount the Sensor Box with screws if adhesive is
not practical for your safe’s interior.
Remove light strips (A) from packaging. For 60”
tall safes, you will use all three (3) included 39” light
strands (54” total with connector ends) by connecting
them together. For smaller safes, you may reduce the
number of light strips used, dependent upon safe size.
Each light strand includes connectors on both ends.
Choose the desired location for light strips and clean
with rubbing alcohol before positioning. It is best to
adhere the heavy-duty adhesive to the inside of the
front of the safe.(FIG. 1) Do not adhere to the back side
of your safe’s reinforced return jamb, as the locking
bolts will cause damage to the light strips when safe
is closed. Installing the LED light strips directly to the
return jamb WILL void the Limited Warranty of your LED
Light Kit.
STEP 4
Position your light strips starting closest to the Motion
Sensor Box on the hinge side.
STEP 5
Remove heavy-duty adhesive backing, press firmly on
the light strip to ensure proper adhesion. Humidity and
climate may affect the adhesive backing’s effectiveness
on carpeting or non-metal materials; to permanently
install, you may carefully staple the light strip (we
recommend a T-50 size staple) to your safe’s interior.
Stapling in a few key areas will ensure the strip does not
become loose over time.
STEP 6
Connect the Power Supply Jack (B) to Motion Sensor
Box using the connection at the bottom of the Sensor
Box. (FIG. 2)
STEP 7
Plug Power Supply Jack into a 110 volt power source.
You may directly plug into the Power Docking System
on equipped Winchester Safes. (FIG. 3)
