Visual Alignment Aid
A buzzer sounds upon detection in the
microwave and PIR detection areas.
Use this device to make visual
adjustments for the PIR detection area.
Note: This tester can also be used with REDWALL.

adjusts the microwave’s sensitivity to its
surrounding environment. When repetitive
movement is detected from objects such as
trees, flags, bunting, and so on, the
microwave sensitivity is lowered slightly to
prevent the possibility of a false alarm.

REDWAVE is a totally new type of outdoor combination detector that sets a new
standard in false alarm prevention. In addition to using passive infrared (PIR) and
microwave technology as in conventional combination detectors, REDWAVE advances
further with the world’s first A.M.R.L. (adjustable microwave range limiter) technology,
which lets users adjust the detection distance, and Dual Quad Zone Logic PIR, which
uses two PIR detectors to increase detection density and eliminate undetectable areas.
With REDWAVE, Optex offers a new solution to outdoor false alarms.

Then, when there are no repetitive
movements in the detection area, the
microwave sensitivity increases
automatically, greatly reducing false alarms
even under the severest outdoor

REDWAVE offers unparalleled
reliability with two, vertically
configured PIR detectors that create
two different, highly dense
detection areas — a near and far
area. This dual coverage essentially
eliminates dead detection spots,
preventing the possibility of missed
alarms. What’s more, the sensitivity
of each area can be adjusted
separately using the PIR Sensitivity
Selector Switch.
Each PIR utilises Quad Zone
Logic, providing multi-segmented
detection zones throughout the
detection area and an alarm signal
based on the cumulative IR energy
of each zone. This greatly reduces
false alarms, particularly those
caused by sudden small
temperature changes from light
reflection or small animals.
