Our Multi-Function Speech Unit reproduces high quality announcements from actual
voice recordings and drives our display unit products via our 4-wire network.
The Multi-Function Speech Unit is of single circuit board construction and requires no
additional encoder boards. It is usually installed in the lift control panel, where it
interfaces to the appropriate lift control signals. The unit intelligently interprets these
signals and generates corresponding voice announcements whilst simultaneously
transmitting control information to any display or ancillary units connected onto our
serial data network.
ONLY ONE MULTI-FUNCTION SPEECH UNIT IS REQUIRED PER LIFT.

(Remote Network Speech Unit)
Description
Our remote speech unit (RMVU24-g) reproduces high quality announcements from actual voice
recordings.
Any number of remote speech units can be connected onto our 4-wire network, along with any of our
indicator products, at any location throughout a building.
The unit announces in response to commands serially transmitted from one of our control units,
responding to signals in the lift controller, and from directly wired signals connected to the remote
speech unit itself. This design enables signals located locally to the remote speech unit, landing push
signals for example, and control panel signals to be used as stimulus for announcements.
The flexibility of our remote speech unit’s design allows for even greater disability access provision;
up
and down landing call acceptance can be announced, lift status messages can be announced
when a landing call button is pressed, for example: ‘Lift out of service’ (announced at any floor
when a landing button is pressed) and ‘Lift doors are open’ (announced only at the arrival floor when
a landing button is pressed). The unit can even be used as an arrival/departure direction announcer
giving voice or tonal indication of next travel direction.

Our inductive loop driver receives 100v line amplified voice signals, generated
by our voice unit, and plays the sound back through two separate channels;
one for a loudspeaker and one for an inductive loop.
Both voice output channels are independently volume controllable allowing the
installer to select larger amounts of power output (up to 6W) for the inductive
loop whilst trimming the loudspeaker output to acceptable levels.
The standard wire loop supplied with the unit must be mounted around the
perimeter of the lift car; ideally, either in the ceiling or in the floor of the lift.
The loop generates an electric field that can be obscured by large amount of
steel, so care must be taken when locating the loop.
