Important safety instructions

ㆍDo not use this camera near water – For example: near a bath tub,
tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink, near a swimming pool; etc.
ㆍClean only with dry cloth. – Switch off the power source or
disconnect the camera before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners.
ㆍDo not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instructions.
ㆍSlots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation, to
ensure reliable operationof the product, and to protect it from
over-heating. The openings should never be blocked by placing
the product on a bed, sofa, rug or other similar surface. This
product should not be placed in a built-in installation such as a
bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided and the
manufacturer’s instructions have been adhered to.
ㆍDo not install near any heat sources such as stoves radiators,
heat registers, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that
produce heat.
ㆍProtect the power cord from being walked on or pinched
particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point
where they exit from the camera.
ㆍRefer all servicing to qualified service personnel at local
distributor, or Service Point mentioned at the end of this manual.
Servicing is required when the camera has been damaged in
any way, such as powersupply cord or plug is damaged,
liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the camera,
the camera has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not
operate normally, or has been dropped.

1. Front cover
Used to access focus or zoom handle. After adjusting, be sure to close it.

Cautions for Safe operation
Power Supply
This camera must always be operated by a DC 12V CE approved
power supply only.
Handling of the unit
Be careful not to spill water or other liquids on the unit. Be cautious
not to get combustible or metallic material inside the body. If used
with foreign matter inside, the camera is liable to fail or to get cause
of fire or electric shock.
Operating and storage location
Avoid viewing a very bright object (such as light fittings) during an
extended period. Avoid operating or storing the unit in the following
locations.
ㆍExtremely hot or cold places (operating temperature -10 °C - 50 °C)
ㆍDamp or dust place
ㆍPlaces exposed to rain
ㆍPlaces subject to strong vibration
ㆍClose to generators of powerful electromagnetic radiation such as
radio or TV transmitters.
Handling of the unit
ㆍRemove dust or dirt on the surface of the lens with a blower.
ㆍUse a dry soft cloth to clean the body.If it is very dirty, use a cloth
dampened with a small quantity of neutral detergent,then wipe dry.
ㆍAvoid the use of volatile solvents such as thinners, alcohol, benzene,
and insecticides. They may damage the surface finish and/or impair
the operation of the camera.
Before installing and using the camera, please read
this installer manual throughly and retain them for
reference!

Troubleshooting
The bracket can be installed to either the top or the bottom of the camera
as desired. When changing the position of the camera mounting bracket,
you should always reuse the screws that have been removed.
Note:
If using a camera mounting bracket, select a location that is strong
enough to bear the full weight of the camera and the mounting bracket
for long periods, and install the camera and mounting bracket securely.
In Lens menu you can change between DC or Manual lens.
You can use the camera identification menu to display a camera name
on the screen. Up to 15 characters can be used for the camera ID.
1, Move the cursor to the letter required by using the UP and DOWN
button.
2, Select an ID from A~Z; a~z; 0~9 using the UP,DOWN, LEFT and
RIGHT buttons.
3, Lock in the characters by using the SET button.
ㆍOnce locked in the cursor moves to the next space in the ID.
4, Repeat the above steps until the ID is complete.
There is a problem with the camera operation. The camera surface
is too hot and black stripes appear on the screen.
ㆍCheck if an appropriate power source to the camera complies with
the manufacturer's standard requirement, or if the voltage is fluctuating.
Check for ground loops.
The MOTIONDETECTION function is not working.
ㆍCheck if 'MOTION DETECTION' mode is turned on.
ㆍCheck the setting of the MD AREA.
Colors are not quite right.
ㆍCheck the 'WHITE BAL' setting.
The screen is flickering.
ㆍCheck if the camera is facing directly into sunlight or fluorescent
light. You can’t select LL mode.
ㆍHave you connected your camera to DC power source? Connect
it to AC power source.
L/L mode is not available.
ㆍCheck the frequency of power supply (60Hz for NTSC, 50Hz for PAL).
SENS-UP function is not working.
ㆍCheck if the AGC menu is set to the OFF position.
ㆍCheck if the SHUTTER menu is set to MANUAL mode.
Outdoor installation of the camera
We advise you to use GRUNDIG electronic’s camera housings with
heater&blower!

Menu operation
This camera utilizes an on-screen user MENU. To set items on the
menu, use the following buttons on the back panel.

Shutter
In Shutter menu you can enable or disable flickerless function. The
funciton removes the flicker of a picture. The Shutter is set to 1/120.
In ESC mode the shutter is controlled automatically according to the
brightness o f the picture. If Manual is selected the shutter is controlled
manualy and the SENS UP menu is disabled.
White Balance
Color
You can change between ATW, MANUAL, AWC
ATW (Auto-Tracing White Balance):
In this mode, the color temperature is monitored continuously and
thereby white balance is automatically set. The color temperature
range for the proper white balance is approximately 1 800-10 500K.
Proper white balance may not be obtained under the following conditions:
1) When the object’s sorroundings are dark
2) When the scene contains mostly high color temperature objects,
such as a blue sky or sunset.
3) When the scene is dim.
MANUAL : You can set the white balance options manually.
ㆍRED : Obtains the optimum amount of red gain.
ㆍBLUE : Obtains the optimum amount of blue gain.
AWC (Automatic White Balance)
In this mode the white balance is set automatically. Press the set
button while the camera is directed at a piece of white paper to obtain
the optimum state under current illumiation. If the environment including
the light source, changes the white balance will need to be adjusted
again.
- AUTO : This Camera has an IR Cut filter and automatically changes
to the appropriate mode dependant on lighting levels.
COLOR mode selected during daylight, B&W mode selected at
night. When the AGC is turned off, COLOR does not operate
Up button: Moves the cursor upwards. Use this button to select an
item or adjust the parameters.
Down button: Moves the cursor downwards. Use this button to select
an item or adjust the parameters.
Right button: Moves the cursor to the right. Use this button to select
or adjust the parameters of the selected item. The parameter Backlight (BLC)
changes each time this button is pressed.
Left button: Moves the cursor to the left. Use this button to select or In Back light menu you can set the backlight compensation to OFF,
adjust the parameters of the selected item. The parameter changes LOW, MIDDLE and HIGH.

Set button: Executes selections and displays a submenu for an item AGC
with the mark.
Automatic Gain Control (AGC) setting
If the images are too dark, change the AGC value to make the images

Digital Noise Reduction
In poor lighting conditions you can use this menu to set the level of
the Noise reduction function, to get a better picture, and save HDD
capacity. You can set it to: Off, Low, Middle, and High.
Sens UP
Sens UP = DSS
In Sens up you can enable the Digital Slow Shutter.
You can set : 2X; 4X;6X;8X;10X;12X;14X;16X;24x;32X;64X;128X.
When SHUTTER is in the manual or flk mode, SENS UP does not
operate.
Special
Special menu consists several submenus such as CAMERA ID,
COLOR, SYNC; MOTION DETECTION; PRIVACY ZONE; MIRROR;
SHARPNESS; RESET;
Sync
Sync mode is fixed to ‘INT’ in DC12V input power.
Motion Detection
The motion detector detects the moving objects in the scene by
monitoring changes in brightness level. You can select the level of
sensitivity for motion detection. You can select 4 areas for detecting
motion.
Privacy
This function is aiming at the protection of personal privacy, selecting
a screen part black not to be displayed in the screen. You may setup
four areas.
Mirror
You can enable or disable the mirror function.
- ON : sets a horizontal image inversion.
- Off : cancels the inversion.
Sharpness
You can enable or disable the sharpness function. You can set the
sharpness level in 32 steps.
Troubleshooting
Nothing appears on the screen
ㆍCheck the power connection.
ㆍCheck the video signal line connection.
The video image is not clear.
ㆍMake sure that the lens is clean.Clean the lens with a clean lint free
cloth or brush.
ㆍAdjust the contrast control on the monitor.
ㆍMake sure that the screen is not exposed directly to a bright light.
Re-position the camera if necessary.
The screen is dark.
ㆍAdjust the contrast control of the monitor.
ㆍIf there is an intermediate device, set the75ohmHi-z correctly, and
also check the connections.
ㆍIf necessary, adjust the brightness level.
