VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS (VSS)
A.
All equipment shall be listed as power limited by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.
and approved by Factory Mutual Research. The manufacturers specified are
Honeywell, and Bosch. These manufacturers are indicative of the quality and type of
equipment to be furnished.
a) The video surveillance system and its entirety shall be in compliance with all
applicable electrical codes.
b) Panels and accessory components shall be catalogued by the manufacturer, U.L.
listed to operate as a compatible system.
c) Specific U.L. Provisions:
(1) The system shall comply with the applicable provisions of the following
Standards and Classifications:
(a) Underwriters Laboratories UL 294.
(b) Underwriters Laboratories UL 609.
(c) ANSI/BHMA A156.23. 1.4 CODES AND STANDARDS
d) State Codes:
(1) The system shall comply with all state codes with no exceptions.
(2) The California Electrical Code - NFPA 70 National Electrical Code with
State of California amendments and Article 760.
(3) NFPA - 101 Life Safety Code.
(4) California Fire Code (CFC) - Uniform Fire Code with State of California
amendments.
(5) California Building Code (CBC) - Uniform Building Code with State of

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM PATHWAYS

Distribution Pathway Systems
1. The surveillance cable system shall utilize the same cable tray system utilized for
the telecom system.
2. The cable system will be a structured cable system and have the same cable
requirements as the telecommunications system. Jacket will be green.
3. Dedicated conduit and J-hooks shall be used to route ACAMS cable to devices
from the cable tray.

Intelligent Controllers
The PW-Series Modular Control System is an advanced access
control hardware architecture capable of providing solutions for
large enterprise applications. The Intelligent Controller (PW6K1IC,
PW3K1IC or PW6K1ICE) provides power and flexibility with its
32-bit architecture, TCP/IP support, flash memory, large local
cardholder database, and large reader and I/O module support.
The Intelligent Controller is designed to operate off-line, making
access control decisions independently from a PC or other
controlling device. It can also be connected to a host computer
for system configuration, alarm monitoring and direct control.
Connectivity to the host computer is accomplished via direct
serial communication (RS232 or RS485), dial-up modem, or
TCP/IP network connection. The PW-6000 has Ethernet directly
embedded and will support a second Ethernet connection.
The PW6K1IC Intelligent Controllers support any combination of
up to 32 I/O or reader boards (16 for the PW3K1IC) to monitor
alarm input points, relay output points and access control reader
interfaces. By offering a modular design, the system can be
tailored to meet a wide range of applications, while optimizing
cost and mounting space.
The PW-6000 will support up to 600,000 cards and 50,000
transactions. The PW-6101 will support up to 240,000 cards
and 50,000 transactions. The PW-3000 Intelligent Controller
accommodates a card database of 7,800 cards and a standard
transaction buffer of 5,000 transactions.
The PW-Series access modules have been designed to
accommodate various mounting options. Units can be wall
mounted in a high density configuration (PW5K2ENC1) when
space is limited, a 19" rack configuration (PW5K2ENC2), or
in a tile mount configuration (PW5K1ENC3). The PW-6000
controller utilizes a built-in Web server to configure the hardware
attributes of the controller.

GV4 panels are the premier
commercial control panel
line from Bosch.
Flexible communications options
Using Bosch Conettix communication, GV4 can transmit
alarm events in both Bosch ModemIIIa2 and Contact ID
formats over telephone, data networks and GSM/GPRS
cellular networks to increase security and efficiency. GV4 is
the first security control panel to support DNS for remote
programming and central station communication. With DNS,
IP communication is simple to set up from the installer
keypad menu or via RPS.
Adaptable to virtually any application requirement
GV4 panels are as adaptable as they are powerful. The
system can be split into up to 32 areas, each with perimeter
and interior arming. To provide ease of use, keypads can be
configured to operate all areas, or just a single area. Custom
text is remotely programmable on each keypad – reducing
costly service calls.
Remote programming
Remote programming over IP or cellular minimizes service
costs by allowing you to service systems or enable and
disable certain functions without traveling to a facility. And,
remote firmware updates ensure easy maintenance or feature
enhancements as they become available. The panel firmware
can also be updated locally using a flash key.
Banking/Finance:
E Use the early ambush feature for banks where the
manager opens alone or Two Person disarm where two
people are required to open the branch or critical area
E Use multiple areas to partition the bank for critical
areas like the ATM, vault and office. GV4 can even be
programmed to easily allow the branch manager to disarm
the branch without disarming other critical areas

Remote Security Control
With a B420 Ethernet Module, you can operate the GV4
from an iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Arm or disarm the
system, check system status and control outputs or doors
using a hand-held device over the Internet or through a local
wireless network.

Maximal3
Input:
Maximal3 distributes and switches power to access control systems and accessories. They convert a 115VAC 60Hz input into sixteen (16) independently controlled 12VDC or 24VDC fuse protected outputs. These Fail-Safe/Fail-Secure
power outputs may be converted to dry form “C” contacts. The outputs are activated by an open collector sink or normally open (NO) dry trigger input from
an Access Control System, Keypad, Push Button, REX PIR, etc. Units will route
power to a variety of access control hardware devices including: Mag Locks, Electric Strikes, Magnetic Door Holders, etc. The FACP Interface enables Emergency
Egress, Alarm Monitoring, or may be used to trigger other auxiliary devices. The
fire alarm disconnect feature is individually selectable for any or all of the sixteen
(16) outputs. All interconnecting equipment must be UL Listed.

• Filtered and electronically regulated outputs (built-in power supply).
• Thermal and short circuit protection with auto reset.
Fuse Ratings:
• Power Supply input fuse rated @ 3.5 amp/250V.
• ACM8 boards main fuse is rated at 10 amp.
Output fuses are rated @ 3.5 amp.
Features:
• Fire Alarm disconnect (latching or non-latching) is individually selectable for any or all of the
sixteen (16) outputs.
• Fire Alarm disconnect input options:
a) Normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) dry contact input.
b)Polarity reversal input from FACP signaling circuit.
• Alarm output relay indicates that FACP input is
triggered (form “C” contact rated @ 1 amp 28VDC).
• AC fail supervision (form “C” contact).
• Low battery and battery presence supervision
(form “C” contact).
Battery Backup:
• Built-in charger for sealed lead acid or gel type
batteries.
• Maximum charge current 0.7 amp.
• Automatic switch over to stand-by battery when
AC fails.
• Zero voltage drop when unit switches over to battery backup (AC failure condition).
Visual Indicators:
• Red LEDs indicate outputs are triggered
(relays energized).
• Green LED indicates FACP disconnect is triggered.
• AC input and DC output LED indicators.

• Operating temperature: 0º C to 49º C ambient.
• BTU/Hr.:
- 12VDC: 30.71 BTU/Hr.
- 24VDC: 66.54 BTU/Hr.
• System AC input VA requirement: 402.5VA.
