WARNING
• A direct, reflected or scattered laser beam can cause permanent blindness.
All individuals in the laser use area must wear laser safety glasses.
• Use with care. Cooling air from the contact tip can cause subcutaneous emphysema or air embolism.
Please refer to the full operations manual for complete instructions on how to operate and maintain this unit.
Handpiece Attachment, Hanger, Tips & Tip Stand Cleaning/Sterilization
Cleaning of Tips
Autoclaving (Sterilization)
1. After using a tip, immerse the fiber part of the tip in tap water and
emit the laser for 3 to 5 seconds. Use an enzymatic detergent (such
as CIDEZYME® by Johnson & Johnson) to clean off blood and other
contaminants.
1. Put the handpiece attachments, hanger and
tips in sterilization pouches or the tip stand for
autoclaving.
2. Place them inside the autoclave chamber.
2. Immerse the tip in a chemical disinfectant for the recommended time as
described in the manufacturer’s instructions. Use one of the disinfectants
listed below at the concentration specified for medical instruments
cleaning.
3. Set autoclave cycle to the following
parameters:
• Temperature: 135 °C (275 °F)
• Chlorhexidine Gluconate (Such as Hibiten )
• Time: 10 to 15 minutes
• Ethanol for disinfection (70% to 80% by volume)
• Dry time: 0 min (dry naturally)
•D
o not use ultrasonic cleaning methods; this could break the tip or
cause its connector to fall off.
• Do not use the drying stage if the autoclave
has one. The temperature might be too high.
®
•C
ontact tips will wear out and must be replaced periodically. Replace
damaged tips and those that cannot be adequately cleaned.
3. Wash tips thoroughly with tap water after using the cleaning solution.
4. Wipe the contact tip with cotton. Take care not to pull out the optical fiber.
Cleaning of Handpiece
Attachment
Wipe entire outer surface of
handpiece attachment with a soft
cloth dampened with ethanol for
disinfection (70% to 80% by volume).
Three O-Rings
Large
Medium
Small
4. After the autoclave cycle is complete, let them
cool.
Make sure all 3 o-rings of the tips are intact and
are not damaged in any way.
Pay special attention to the smallest o-ring. If
this is missing or damaged, water could seep
into the handpiece and damage it or cause the
laser to lose power. It also might harm the drum
lens.
Cleaning of Hanger
Wipe entire hanger outer surface with
a soft cloth dampened with ethanol for
disinfection (70% to 80% by volume).
Maintenance
Grease Handpiece End
Drum Lens Cleaning (Handpiece End)
Grease the handpiece end each day before use.
1. Rotate the applicator to apply grease and
then remove it from its case.
Disconnect the handpiece attachment and
clean the lens on the end of the handpiece
with the lens cleaner provided.
Dampen the end of the lens cleaner with
ethanol for disinfection (70% to 80% by
volume) and lightly wipe the lens.
Aiming Beam
Good
2. Use a piece of gauze to wipe off excess
grease.
* Do not wipe off too much grease;
leave enough to lubricate the
handpiece attachment.
3. Insert the applicator into the handpiece as
far as it will go and rotate it; then remove
it. When finished, return the applicator
back to its case.
Hazy
Ball Lens Cleaning (R-Attachment)
Clean the ball lens on the end of the
R-Attachment after each patient.
Dampen the end of the lens cleaner with
ethanol for disinfection (70% to 80% by
volume) and lightly wipe the lens.

If air gets in the lines when the bag is replaced,
depress the foot switch halfway down for 90
seconds to activate the water pump only and
force the air out.

Before use, check the level of the water in the
spray bag.
