FASTFILLER OPERATION MANUAL FIGHT FIRES FAST. Part 1 Aircraft Mix Procedure c. On the CONTROLLER, press the ORANGE BUTTON (Fig 1.5) to ON. This activates the system and does NOT need to be turned off until filling exercises are complete. Use the RED handle to turn the pump ON and OFF for the HOPPER Filling Process. Fig 1.5 d. Fill HOPPER to desired volume- as shown on the level inside. (Fig1.6) Step 1. a. Connect the FastFiller PUMP INLET to the bulk BlazeTamer380™ concentrate tank. b. Connect water supply to the inlet side of the INDUCTION PUMP. (Fig 1.1) c. Connect the high volume water pump to the outlet side of the INDUCTION PIPE. Important: Note the water flow direction marked on the pipe. Step 4. Fill aircraft using the following procedure. Step 2. Determine the required amount of BlazeTamer380™ for the volume of water to be pumped into the aircraft. Refer to the MIXING GUIDE (Fig 1.2) on the FastFiller. a. Begin water supply to aircraft, open INDUCTION BALL VALVE (BLUE HANDLE)( Fig 1.7) under the HOPPER allowing for a gradual induction of BlazeTamer380™ concentrate. Fig 1.2 Step 3. Pump the required volume of BlazeTamer380™ concentrate into the white hopper using the following procedure: a. Ensure the INDUCTION BALL VALVE (BLUE HANDLE) (Fig 1.3) Fig 1.3 underneath the hopper is CLOSED (UP) before beginning any filling process. b. Set the BALL VALVE (YELLOW HANDLE) to HOPPER FILL. Adjust the flow rate out of the HOPPER via the INDUCTION BALL VALVE (BLUE HANDLE) to drain the contents in the first 50% of the aircraft tank fill. This will enable a well-mixed solution of BlazeTamer380™ in the tank. c. IF NECESSARY, the BUTTERFLY VALVE fitted to the induction pipe can be adjusted to regulate the water flow pressure. This enables greater suction or (volume) to be drawn from the HOPPER accelerating the rate of concentrate through the line into the induction pipe (FIG 1.8). d. Once HOPPER is empty, ALWAYS close the INDUCTION BALL VALVE (BLUE HANDLE). Important: The BUTTERFLY VALVE and the INDUCTION BALL VALVE can be restricted to prevent backflow when using high pressure water sources. Fig 1.7 Fig 1.8 3 Part 2 Aircraft Concentrate Tank Procedure Control Measures. The FastFiller is equipped with a spill tray (Fig 2.6). Use the tray to minimise concentrate spillage when removing camlock fittings. Fig 2.6 Power Sources. The FastFiller is equipped with a heavy-duty 12 volt battery to power the concentrate pump. (Fig 2.5) Step 1. a. Connect External Outlet (Fig 2.1) directly to the aircraft concentrate tank. b. Ensure HOPPER is switched OFF (BLUE HANDLE) into the UP position. (Fig 2.2) BATTERY running hours are limited to 25 HOURS without CHARGE. Fig 2.1 c. Connect PUMP INLET to BlazeTamer380™ concentrate supply. Step 2. a. Set the BALL VALVE (YELLOW HANDLE) to EXTERNAL OUTLET (Fig 2.3). Fig 2.2 The solar panel should be deployed to charge the battery. (Fig 2.7) Battery voltage level is shown on the controller. If the voltage level drops below 12 volts the unit should be recharged using the solar cell or the charge socket fitted to the FastFiller. Use the RED handle (Fig 2.4) to turn the pump ON and OFF for the HOPPER FILLING PROCESS. Fig 2.4 4 Fig 2.10 5 Part 3 Service and Parts To ensure the highest level of operational performance the BlazeTamer380™ FastFiller should be serviced annually in preparation for the fire season. A service kit is available for this purpose. FastFiller Cleaning This unit should be cleaned at the end of the fire season. The lines from the Hopper and the Pump are fitted with easily removable clamps. The CHECK VALVE (Fig 3.1) should be placed in a bucket of water and left to soak for 15-30 minutes. Wipe off, blow dry with compressed air and replace. Fill the HOPPER with water and a citrus based cleaner, allow to soak for 15-30 minutes then drain. This unit is fitted EXCLUSIVELY with Viton rubber seals. Fig 3.1 Fig 3.2 1x Spare parts box Pump Cleaning Place the concentrate hose into a bucket of water and run the pump for 5-10 minutes. Use WATER ONLY to clean the pump. The small amount of BlazeTamer380™ residue left in the pump will pose no problems. The overflow of water used to clean the pump can be disposed of into an appropriate drain or onto any earthen ground. Under a tree is always a good place. Replace all hoses to their original position and store. Solar Panel Cleaning With WATER ONLY. A damp cloth can be used.
