Standard Features
At 99.9 percent efficient, the Vent-Free Vail Fireplace delivers more heat
for your energy dollars – 32,000 Btu for the Vail 32 and 36,000 Btu for
the Vail 36. Ceramic glazed pellets in the burner tumble and swirl the
gas to produce a natural flickering flame.
Choose one of two available log sets - Ceramic Fiber or Refractory. Both
are hand painted for exceptional realism and exquisite detail.
And choose one of two liners - aged brick or stacked limestone to

complement your decor.
The matte black arched screen front perfectly frames the logs and
optional brick liner to create an exceptionally beautiful fireplace. All Vail
fireplaces come with matte black slat louvers and hood.
The Vail 32 and 36 Premium Vent-Free Fireplaces feature hem-bent
seams that provide a better seal while elimi­­nating dozens of screws and
fasteners. The result is a lighter, more rigid box that’s easier to install.

Surround your Vail fireplace with our Standard Cabinet Mantel or Corner
Cabinet Mantel beautifully hand finished in cherry, nutmeg, dark oak, oak, or
white. Or select unfinished hardwood or oak and match your new mantel to
your home’s other woodwork.
Empire’s craftsmen (and women) build each mantel from 3/4-inch fine-furniture
grade cabinetry components, including select hardwood veneers. Because this

Our metal three-piece outer frames let you transition from your fireplace to any adjoining surface – wooden mantel, tile,
stone, or any noncombustible material. Choose from steel frames – with traditional crisp lines – or our new extruded
aluminum frames – with a profile that combines gentle concaves with flat surfaces. Each is available in matte black,
hammered pewter, polished brass, and stainless steel finish.
Our bottom trim completes the fourth side of the color frame.

Aged Brick Liners have brown bricks with charcoal mortar in running bond courses, plus smoked accents.
Stacked Limestone Liners have rugged, irregular stones with no mortar.
Traditional liners have burnt umber bricks with light gray mortar, in running bond courses (Available for Vail 24 only).
Banded Brick Liners have dark “creamed-coffee” bricks with charcoal mortar in running bond courses, plus an accent band of diagonal brick (Available for Vail 26 only.)

Vail 24 – a full-featured fireplace for smaller spaces
The Vail 24 delivers the beauty of hand-painted ceramic fiber logs and natural flickering flames to dens, halls, and even
bedrooms.
Vail 24 Fireplaces are rated at 20,000 Btu - enough heat to keep a family room cozy and warm. Special 10,000 Btu
models are available in Millivolt and Intermittent Pilot for bedroom installations, where allowed by local codes.
The Vail 24 fireplace includes matte black louvers and frame. Available accessories include metal frames (in polished
brass, hammered pewter, and stainless steel), blowers, brick liners, remo­te controls, and Standard Cabinet and Corner
Mantels (in cherry, dark oak, oak, unfinished hardwood, unfinished oak, and white).
Control Options
The basic Vail 24 operates with a built-in modulating hydraulic thermostat that automatically manages the flame to
maintain your preset room temperature.
The Remote-Ready Millivolt Vail 24 Fireplace works with any of our battery operated Thermostat Remote Controls, or
connect to a simple wall switch or wall thermostat.
The Intermittent Pilot Vail saves even more energy by eliminating the standing pilot – yet can still operate in a power
outage with a battery backup.

Vail 26 Special Edition
The Vail 26 Special Edition is the Americanmade fireplace system that ships complete in
one package – fireplace, assembled mantel, Flint
Hill log set with 20,000 Btu vent-free Contour
burner, matte black hood, frame and louvers –
even glowing embers.
This package system installs in as little as 30
minutes, minimizing labor costs. A total mantel
footprint of just over 17 by 45 inches makes the
Vail 26 Special Edition ideal for tight spaces and
small rooms.
The Vail 26 Special Edition is available in three
mantel colors – nutmeg, cherry, and white – and
in modulating hydraulic thermostat and Millivolt
control. The Millivolt system allows you to add
a wall thermostat, remote control, or thermostat
remote control.
Available Accessories include Hammered
Pewter trim, blower, and Banded Brick liner.

We also offer the Vail 26 as a separate fireplace – perfect for built-in and custom mantel applications. Or choose one
