Using Zero Surge Protection With an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

Surge™ unit
Zero Surge™ can’t protect the
UPS in this configuration!
When using Zero Surge products with a UPS, the Zero Surge unit must be ahead of
the UPS to protect the UPS and its connected equipment. This will also insure that
the MOVs inside the UPS remain dormant, preventing ground line contamination.
Zero Surge’s 15A, 20A, and 30A models are recommended for UPS applications.
Any equipment that generates a surge (i.e., a laser printer) should be plugged directly
into the Zero Surge unit and not into the UPS. This will allow the Zero Surge unit to
filter the kickback surge.
