А.2.1.1 Wiring to the V1000R Series Controller
The C50 is mtended to be mounted indoors on the secure side of the controlled
door. To prevent RS485 multi-drop troubleshooting problems, the C50
communications wiring is isolated through an RS485 Hub. You can only connect
one C50 to each port on the RS485 Hub. The RS485 ports on both the RS485
Hub and the C50 board have built-in line termination resistors.
The RS485 Hubs are located in the wiring closet with the V1000R series
controller. Each RS485 Hub can be connected to a maximum of 8 C50 boards. A
maximum of 4 RS485 Hubs can be daisy-chained to a single V1000R series
controller to support up to 32 C50 boards, Since the RS485 wiring between the
V1000R series controller and the RS485 Hub is limited to 50-ft. in length, no
line termination resistors are required. (See Figure A-5.)
Power to the RS485 Hubs should be supplied from a battery-backed 12VDC
power supply that is usually located in the wiring closet with the RS485 Hubs,
Since the RS485 Hubs do not have a terminal strip for connection to the 12VDC
power, you can cut off and splice to a section of the cable from the included
12VDC power supply.
NOTE
Make sure that you observe the polarity. The center pin of the
barrel connector is negative.
