GENERAL DESCRIPTION
FEATURES
The MR-2608 is a microprocessor based fire alarm control unit with
8 zones for conventional fire detection devices.

• Conventional input circuits 8-Style B (Class B) or 4-Style D (Class A)
Front Panel
• Input circuits programmable for N.O. or N.C. contacts
The front panel consists of 4 system LEDs, 8x2 zone LEDs, and
6 function keys. The four system LEDs provide common indication of
alarm, trouble, supervisory, and AC power. LEDs will flash with a
new condition and will remain on steady after acknowledgement.
The zone LEDs consist of a red alarm LED and a yellow trouble LED
for each input circuit. LEDs will flash with a new condition and will
remain on steady after acknowledgement. Amber alarm LEDs are
available by special order for use with supervisory zones.

Function keys provide the following functions : acknowledge, signal
silence, system reset, ground fault, lamp test, and city disconnect.
Each function key has an LED to indicate when it is available.

The yellow zone LEDs are also used to indicate common troubles.
This function is activated by pressing the Ground Fault function key.

Input Circuits
• Signal time limit cut-out
Input circuits are individually software definable for contact devices
only, smoke detectors only, or combination of smoke detectors and
contact devices. Circuits defined for smoke detector and contact
devices are able to differentiate between smoke detector operation
and contact device operation which permits combining contact and
smoke detectors on one common circuit when the alarm verification
feature is used. The circuits are further definable for alarm or supervisory. If there are any supervisory zones defined, the function relay
becomes the supervisory relay. Input circuits programmed for contact
devices can be further defined for use with N.O. or N.C. contacts.
Circuits can support Style B (Class B) or Style D (Class A) wiring.
When Style D wiring is used, two circuits are required for each
Style D circuit.
Ground fault conditions occurring on the input circuits are
indicated as to the circuit of origin of the ground fault.

Output Circuits
The MR-2608 provides 2 supervised polarity reversing notification
appliance (bell) circuits, 1 general purpose Form C relay, and
2 system operated Form C relays for alarm and trouble indication.
Ground faults are indicated by notification appliance (bell) circuit.
The general purpose Form C relay operation is program defined. If
there are any supervisory type input circuits, the general purpose
relay becomes the supervisory relay.
The system Form C relays are for alarm and trouble indication. The
trouble relay is normally energized to allow for indication of both AC
power and battery power loss.
