Fall 2013 Party Add-on Guide – How to make your Basic Party even more fabulous!
Oh, you’re going to have fun Partying this fall!
Start with your Basic Tasting Party (outlined on the Getting Started tab on MyEpicure, and in your Product Selling Tool.)
At a Basic Tasting Party you’ll typically feature 6 Dips of your choice, 1 Hot Dip, Summer Berry Fruit Dip, and Poco
Picante Salsa.
Once you’re familiar with the Basic Party, you may wish to add on a few more products to your presentation. This will
mix it up a bit – Guests and Hosts who have attended Epicure Parties before will have something new to see, learn, and
taste, and their excitement typically translates into sales for you! As with the Basic Party, the key to success is to keep
the add-ons simple – a little is still just enough!
This season, we have 4 add-on Parties for you to add to your personal skillset so that you have new and exciting
solutions to offer your Hosts and Customers. Plus, each of these Add-on Parties has a companion online video for you to
share with Hosts and Party Guests at and/or in advance of the Party!

This Party Add-on Guide is intended to provide you with options and inspiration for how to mix things up at your Tasting
Parties. The items in your Business Success Kit™ really are more than enough to run a successful Epicure business. These
ideas are all optional: do what feels right for yourself and for your Hosts, and most importantly, have fun!
Fall 2013 Party Add-on Guide – How to make your Basic Epicure Tasting Party even more fabulous!

1. DIY Doughnut Bar: A “hole” lot of fun!
Who doesn’t love the idea of baked – not fried – doughnuts that you can decorate however you like? A DIY Doughnut Bar can be an
exciting add-on to your Basic (and fabulous!) Party, or it can be an entire Party theme on its own. Set up a small doughnut bar at one
end of your Tasting Table featuring home-baked – and flavoured – doughnuts, a delicious coating, and 3-5 decorating choices.
No-bake Party Option
One of the first steps in planning your Doughnut Party is to determine whether you will bake the doughnuts at your Host’s home
or prepare them in advance and simply bring the finished product to the Party. You can still engage your Host in planning this
Party – ask him or her to choose the flavour of the batter, the coating, and the toppers, so that you can bake in advance of the
Party.
Share Epicure’s DIY Doughnuts video on Facebook or by email with your Host. Encourage your Host to share the link to the video
with his or her friends in the Party invitation to drive excitement and increase attendance!
TO DO:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
During Host Coaching, ask your Host to choose a doughnut batter flavour, as well as 1–2 coating options. Also ask which
2–3 toppers they’d like to try.
Prepare the doughnuts (see ‘Recipes’ below). Store in an airtight container. Remember, this is a Tasting Party, not a
meal… you only need to provide a “taste” of each item to your guests. Feel free to divide the baked doughnuts into
halves or even quarters. That way, everyone can try a little of each flavour combination you prepare.
At the Party, be sure to pass around the Silicone Doughnut Mold, as well as the jars of any products used in making the
doughnuts.
Show the DIY Doughnuts video to get everyone excited.
Finally, let your Host and Guests sample the doughnuts!
BEFORE THE PARTY
How to coach your Host
Share Epicure’s DIY Doughnuts video on Facebook or by email with your Host. Encourage your Host to share the link to the video
with his or her friends in the Party invitation to drive excitement and increase attendance!
As part of your Host coaching, work with your Host to determine which batter flavour, coating, and decorating options she or he
wants at the Party. This will determine which add-on products you bring in addition to your Basic Party kit. In addition to the Basic
Tasting Party food supplies you’ll ask your Host to provide for the Party, consider asking him or her to also supply the ‘wet’
ingredients (unmixed) for making doughnuts. Alternatively, you can simply prepare the batter recipe in advance and bring it to the
Party ready to be baked.

out your Host’s choices of finishing and decorating options.
 OPTIONAL – Work with your Host to prepare the doughnut batter.

After guests arrive and the Party begins
After your brief introduction (30 seconds or less – for reference, see
the Tasting & Table Talk Party Card), show the DIY Doughnuts video.
Then, show your guests how to make Epicure’s Baked Doughnuts!
Using the Silicone Basting Brush and vegetable oil, lightly baste the
Silicone Doughnut Mold. Snip the corner off your freezer bag of
batter and pipe, filling each mold 2/3 full. Pop the Baking Sheet into
the oven. Bake 2 batches of 12 doughnuts each. While the doughnuts
are baking, approximately 15 minutes per batch, your Guests can
sample other products from your Tasting Table.
When the doughnuts are ready, invite guests to decorate their own
with the products from your DIY Doughnut Bar. As guests are
decorating their doughnuts, share Epicure’s Us vs. Them Doughnuts
fun facts (see below), comparing how much healthier and less expensive homemade Epicure Doughnuts are when compared to fastfood options.
If you wish, make it into a friendly competition: the guests can judge, and you
can offer a small prize (Dip Sampler, Bamboo Spreader, etc.) to the creator of
the “best” doughnut.
Using your Product Knowledge Card, share the details about the DIY Doughnut
Collection. Remember, every collection you sell brings your Host one step
closer to a $500 Party, which means that in addition to getting lots of amazing
FREE products, he or she is also entered into a draw to win the ENTIRE
contents of the Catalogue – valued at over $3800!

2. Appy Maker Party: Get appy!
Making appies is a great way to enhance your Basic Party, or it can be an entire Party theme on its own! Along with the Dips you are
already planning to sample with veggies or crackers, make a few more to use as fillings for your super-easy, amazingly delicious
appies.
No-bake Party Option
One of the first steps in planning your Appy Maker Party is to determine whether you will prepare and bake the appies at your
Host’s home or make them in advance and simply bring the finished product to the Party. You can still engage your Host in
planning this Party – ask him or her to choose the flavours for the filling, the dips, and the toppers, so that you can bake the appies
in advance of the Party.
Share Epicure’s Appy Maker video on Facebook or by email with your Host. Encourage your Host to share the link to the video with
his or her friends in the Party invitation to drive excitement and increase attendance!
TO DO:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
During Host Coaching, ask your Host to choose 2–3 fillers, as well as 1–2 toppers. You don’t need to offer as much variety
if you pre-make the appies. See some flavour suggestions in ‘Host checklist’ below.
Prepare the appies (see ‘Recipes’ below). Store in an airtight container. Remember, this is a Tasting Party, not a meal…
you only need to provide 1–2 appies per Guest. Feel free to divide the baked appies into halves or even quarters. That
way, everyone can try a little of each flavour combination you prepare.
At the Party, be sure reheat the appies in the oven and, meanwhile, pass around the Appy Maker and Dip & Spreader, as
well as the jars of any products used in making the fillings.
Show the Appy Maker video to get everyone excited.
Finally, let your Host and Guests sample the appies!

your Guests how to make fantastic Appies using Epicure’s
Appy Maker!
Place the Appy Maker on the counter with the small appyside up. Roll out the dough and place overtop. Using a rolling
pin, firmly roll over to cut through dough. Have guests pick
the filling and make their own appy. Simply place a dollop of
filling of choice in the centre of the widest end of the triangle
(1/2 tsp for small appies). Starting at wide end of triangle, roll
up. Place seam-side down on Baking Sheet lined with Silicone Baking Mat.
Using Silicone Basting Brush, lightly brush milk overtop, then top with topper of choice. Bake until puffy and light golden:
approximately 10 minutes per batch.
While the Appies are baking, your Guests can sample other products from your Tasting Table.
If you wish, make it into a friendly competition: the Guests can judge, and

 If your Host has chosen Belgian Chocolate as a Dip or topper, melt 3 Tbsp (45 ml) in a Prep Bowl. Simply heat on
medium power in the microwave at 30-second intervals and stir. Use caution – chocolate burns easily. Often, it will be
ready even though it looks as though it’s not yet melted. Be sure to remove and stir every 30 seconds.
 If your Host has chosen Hot Buttered Rum Apples (see ‘Recipes’ below) as a topper, simply heat on medium power in
the microwave for about 1 minute.
 Assemble the tools and ingredients you will need to make Waffles:
 Place the Silicone Waffle Mold on the Baking Sheet.
 Set out the Basting Brush and a small bowl of vegetable oil.
 Place your prepared Waffle Batter close by, along with a scoop.
 Preheat oven to 425° F (220° C).
After guests arrive and the Party begins
After your brief introduction (for reference, see the Tasting & Table Talk Party Card), show the DIY Waffles video. Then, show your
Guests how to make Epicure’s Baked Waffles!

Using the Silicone Basting Brush and vegetable oil, lightly baste the Silicone
Waffle Mold. Pour approximately ¼ cup (60 ml) batter into each mold, filling
all corners. Pop the Baking Sheet into the oven. While the waffles are baking,
12–15 minutes, or until golden, your Guests can sample other products from
your Tasting Table.
When the Waffles are ready, cut them into halves or quarters so Guests can
try a few flavour combinations. Invite Guests to dip & top their own with the
options from your DIY Waffle Bar. As Guests are preparing their Waffles,
share Epicure’s Us vs. Them Waffles fun facts (see below), comparing how
much healthier and less expensive homemade Epicure Waffles are when
compared to prepared frozen options.
Using your Product Knowledge Card, share the details about the DIY Waffle
Collection. Remember, every collection you sell brings your Host one step closer to
a $500 Party, which means that in addition to getting lots of amazing FREE
products, he or she is also entered into a draw to win the ENTIRE contents of the

4. Silicone Spill-No-More – Never cry over spilled water again!
The Epicure Spill No More demonstration, coupled with a highlight on the Take 5 That’s Amore Bundle can be a perfect add-on to
your Basic Party. Start your Party with a little demonstration: bring a pot of water to a boil, add pasta, and let it continue to boil.
Amaze your Guests when the water doesn’t spill and your pasta cooks perfectly.
No-cook Party Option
One of the first steps in planning your Spill No More Party is to determine whether you will cook pasta at your Host’s home or
simply sample the That’s Amore Dips with breadsticks at the Party. You can still engage your Host by demonstrating how the Spill No
More works with a pot of boiling water.
TO DO:
1.
2.
3.
At the Party, be sure to pass around the Spill No More, as well as the jars of any products used in making the samples.
Show the Spill No More video to get everyone excited.
Finally, let your Host and guests sample the sauces!
