For slat aprons with a larger surface area, use a PL3 motor. In accordance with the French standard, C15-100, a 30 mA differential circuit breaker must be installed at the head of the line. The motor system comprises the AQUAMAT 3001 motor, its control panel and the PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). The motor should only be operated with the AQUAMAT control panel. Operation of the motor without the AQUAMAT control panel is dangerous and therefore not recommended. Due care and vigilance should be exercised when opening and closing the pool using the AQUAMAT motor. Upon encountering the slightest problem while rolling the cover up or out, stop it (position 0 on the key switch) and contact a technician. PREPARATION PRIOR TO INSTALLATION - The motor can only be installed on automatic covers equipped with a DELTA drive shaft. If you have another type of drive shaft, please contact us. - The motor has been designed to fit all DELTA throughwall flanges, model 1998 or later. Use an adapter for models older than 1998. - As a rule, the AQUANAUT motor must be operated with a AQUANAUT control panel. Any use of the motor without the AQUANAUT control panel is dangerous and not recommended. - The motor has an IP65 rating, this means that it is protected against splashing but not submersion. The motor must therefore be installed in a pit fitted with a drain and a sump pump. The pit must be sized in accordance with the DELTA civil engineering diagrams. - The key switch box must be installed in a location that provides an unobstructed view of the pool. MATERIALS PROVIDED - AQUAMAT 3001 motor with connection box - AQUAMAT control panel - Water sling - Motor pin - U-shaped pin TOOLS REQUIRED - Small electrician's flat head screwdriver - Philipp's screwdriver - Wire stripper - Wire clipper - Utility knife - Percussion drill with Ø 8 drill bit for concrete 11/16 2010/01 - Indice de révision : D - code : 0034401 INSTALLATION OF THE MOTOR Position the axle such that the groove is facing upwards. Mount the motor by sliding the pin into the groove on the hollow shaft. Push all the way in. If the motor does not slide smoothly, make sure that the pin is correctly positioned. Install the U-shaped pin, making sure that it protrudes from the bottom of the lower mounting flange. Connection box Use a Ø 8 drill bit to bore a hole in the wall above the AQUAMAT motor and mount the connection box. INSTALLATION OF THE CONTROL PANEL Install the control panel in a location protected from the elements and humidity. The control panel must absolutely not be installed in the motor pit. Attach the control panel support frame to the wall first, then attach the control panel itself. Fix in position using the screw provided. ELECTRICAL WIRING CONTROL PANEL POWER SUPPLY In accordance with the French standard, C15-100, a 30 mA differential circuit breaker must be installed at the head of the power line. Connect the 220 V power supply to the N, Ph, T (neutral, live, earth) terminals, located at the bottom right-hand side of the control panel. Clip the ferrite ring around the power cable. KEY OPERATING SWITCH Connection: - Terminal "0" of the control panel to the upper right side of the key operating switch with the shunt already in place. - Terminal "1" of the control panel to the bottom right side of the key operating switch. - Terminal "2" of the control panel to the bottom left side of the key operating switch. Use a 3 x 1.5² cable. CONNECTING THE AQUAMAT 3001 MOTOR Connect the “+” and “-” terminals of the control panel to the “+” and “-” terminals of the ’AQUAMAT 3001 motor. If the distance between the control panel and motor is less than 40m use a 2 x 42 cable, for distances greater than 40m use a 2 x 62 cable. CONNECTING THE END OF TRAVEL SENSORS Connect the terminals “A”, “T” and “C” in the control panel to the terminals “A”, “T” and “C” in the AQUAMAT 3001 connection box. Use only a shielded cable to make this connection, the metallic braid should be connected to the “B” terminals in the control panel and the AQUAMAT 3001 connection box. WIRING IN THE MOTOR CONNECTION BOX Once the AQUAMAT 3001 motor is wired in, plug the two quick fit connectors of the connection box into the motor. Connectors are “fool proofed” to prevent confusion. Tighten the quick fit connector nuts by hand. 12/16 2010/01 - Indice de révision : D - code : 0034401 CONNECTION OF THE CLEANING MANIFOLD BOOSTER PUMP (Option) The booster pump is powered via a cable 3 x 2.52 connected to terminals 2 and 6 of the contactor located to the left of the 220 V power supply. Connect the earth wire of this cable to the earth terminal. Note: The cleaning manifold is not compatible with pools more than 6 metres wide. The cleaning manifold will clean the cover each time it is opened or closed if its control switch (to the right of the on/off switch) is closed. PROGRAMMING THE ENDS OF TRAVEL: - Press buttons 2 and 3 simultaneously, hold them down for 3 seconds. - Release them, and press button 1. - The red LED on the control panel starts to blink and continues to blink until programming is complete. If the LED does not blink, switch off the control panel then switch it back on ans start over. - Using the key switch, roll the cover out fully over the pool, stop it when the leading slat touches the wall opposite the axle. - Press button 2 to confirm the closed position. The LED will continue to blink. - Roll the cover up fully, stop it when the leading slat is 10cm below the water level. If the pool features a shaped step (Roman or square), stop the slat apron 10 cm behind the beam. - Press and release button 3. The LED goes off. Programming is complete. Perform 2 “open/close” cycles to check that the cover is being rolled up and out correctly. The cover should stop by itself at the end of travels in both directions. 14/16 2010/01 - Indice de révision : D - code : 0034401 CAUTION In the event of a power cut while programming the ends of travel, (LED blinking), no information will be saved to memory. Recommence programming from the beginning. OPERATING ERRORS The PLC continuously monitors operation of the AQUAMAT 3001 motor. In the event of an anomaly, the motor stops and the LED blinks a specific code sequence: The LED remains lit for 5 seconds, then blinks a certain number of times before remaining lit again for 5 seconds. Count the number of times the LED blinks, this number corresponds to an error code: -Error 1: Read error. The programme cannot read the slat apron position. Cut the power supply and reenergise. If the problem persists, replace the electronic board. - Error 2 : Write error. The programme cannot save the slat apron position. Cut the power supply and reenergise. If the problem persists, replace the electronic board.. - Error 3 : Electronic sensor fault. Check the connections of the shielded cable linking the motor and control panel. Check the coding wheel and the sensor in the motor. - Error 4 : The motor is turning in the wrong direction. Inverse the + and - wires between the control panel and the motor. - Error 5 : Not in use. - Error 6 : Key error. The motor turns while the key is in the “0” position. Cabling error or short circuit in the control panel. RECOMMENDATIONS Remain vigilant while operating the motor. Before operating the motor, check: - that there is no-one in the pool before you close the cover. - that no floating object or automatic cleaner could impede the movement of the slap apron. - that the water level is correct (not too high, not too low). Keep watching while the slat apron while it is in motion. MAINTENANCE AND WINTERIZING The AQUAMAT 3001 motor does not require any specific maintenance. Simply check that the pit in which the motor is installed is not too wet or full of water. During winter, the motor should be removed from the pit once the cover is rolled out over the pool : - Unscrew the quick fit connectors and pull them our of the motor leaving the box mounted on the wall. - Remove the U-shaped pin by pulling upwards and take out the AQUAMAT 3001 motor. - Store the motor in a location protected against bad weather and humidity.
