Recording From the Guide
Whether you are choosing a program from the Guide or you are
currently viewing the program when you decide to record it, the
process to create a one-time recording or a series recording is the same:
If you have found a program that you would like to record in the
Guide, highlight it and press the Record button on the remote
control. The recording options appear and include One-Time and
Series. Both have additional options you can customize.
For Series Recordings, arrow over to Series.
The Series Recording Options will display.
Choose how many episodes to Keep at Most at any given time.
The default option is 3 episodes. Options are 1-10 or All
episodes. Use the Left/Right arrow buttons to make
your selection.
Choose the Show Type you wish to record. You can record All
episodes of a program or only New episodes.
Choose when to Start Recording. You can begin ‘on time’
when the program is scheduled to begin, or you can choose to
start the recording up to 30 minutes early.
Choose when to Stop Recording. You can stop the recording
’on time’ when the program is scheduled to end, or you can
choose to stop the recording up to 60 minutes later.
Choose the Folder where you want to save the recording. By
default it will save to ’All Recordings’ but you can choose
another existing folder or create a New Folder.
If you have multiple DVRs in your location, you will be able to
choose which DVR you want the program to record on.
Choose whether to AutoTune.
Recording From the Guide

watch. When you highlight a program it expands to show more
information, or you may need to press the Info button, depending
on your Settings.
To start playback of the recording, press the Play or OK button on
the remote control.
If the program is one that has been previously viewed, you may

Rewind, Pause, Skip Back, Skip Ahead, or Stop the playback.
When you reach the end of the program, you will be asked if you
would like to delete or keep the recording.
Your television can be set to remind you when a program is about to
start and to automatically tune to a program you don’t want to miss.
To set a reminder, press the Guide button and use the arrow
buttons to find and highlight the upcoming program you wish
to flag with a reminder. Press the Record button on the
remote control.

reminded, and whether to automatically tune to the channel when
the program starts. Arrow down to Create Reminder and press OK.
A reminder icon will appear in the Guide next to that program.
A reminder popup will appear at the top of your screen at the
designated time. To tune to that program, press OK on the remote.
If you have set an AutoTune, it will tune automatically when the
program starts.
Working with your DVR
Your DVR is capable of recording three programs while you watch a
fourth. You can easily tell what your DVR is doing by pressing the OK
button. When you see the red light indicating that something is being
recorded on the DVR, you can quickly find out what program is recording.
Press the OK button on the remote control to see what is Now
Playing. In the example, the television is tuned to Ch 33, as
indicated by the TV symbol. Ch 154 is recording, as indicated by
the red circle symbol.
You may view any of the listed programs by using the up/down
arrow keys on the remote and pressing the OK button. For example,
you can choose to view the program as it is being recorded on
channel 154.
When you view the recording program, the system will start at the
last time you viewed that program. You have access to Rewind, Skip
Back, Skip Ahead, and Fast Forward to move within the recording.
If you like to be able to surf within only a specific set of channels, you can
create Favorites lists. By default, your set top box has grouped channels
into several pre-set Favorites lists, including All Channels, Subscribed
Channels, Movie Channels, Sports Channels, Music Channels,
Entertainment Channels, Kids Channels, News Channels, Business News
Channels, Infotainment Channels, Religious Channels, Regional Channels,
and HD Channels. You may create up to five additional Favorites lists.
Press the Menu button to access the main menu. Use the arrow
buttons to move down to highlight Settings, then arrow over to
Edit Favorites. Press OK.
All available channels will display. Use the arrow buttons to move
through the list of channels. When you are on a channel that you
want to add to your list, press the OK button to mark it.

through multiple guides and menus. The shortcut key from live TV is the

and the Radar with the Yellow button.
The What’s Hot app gives you a whole new way to find something to
watch! The shortcut key from live TV is the Yellow button; press OK and
arrow down to select What’s Hot. This is a list of the current, most
watched TV programs on NDTC TV. You can also see the most popular
Series and Recordings.
Restart TV service allows you to Restart a TV program that is already in
progress. Running late and missed the beginning of the news? Restart
it! In the Guide there are channels that have a green and white restart
icon in front of the channel number. This indicates a Restart TV
Channel. Currently the SD & HD local channels are all Restart channels,
with an additional 12+ channels in our lineup!
In the Guide, highlight a Restart TV indicated channel
press the Green button on the remote. This will restart the program
from the beginning. You can record the program or use Fast
Forward, Rewind, Skip Ahead, and Skip Back functions.
Access the What’s Hot App by pressing the Yellow button and arrow
down to What’s Hot. Highlight any program that has the Restart TV
icon in front of it and press the Green button.
DVR Service is not required to watch Restart TV. Even customers with a
non-DVR STB can take advantage of this great service!
Subscribers to NDTC phone service and Caller ID get a screen popup on
their TV announcing incoming calls. The shortcut key to the Phone app
from live TV is the Green button. You can view Caller ID, listen to
Voicemail messages (on your TV!), and view any system messages that
have been sent from NDTC.
On Demand & PPV
On Demand & PPV provide the ability to purchase movies, music,
sporting events, and other special events from the comfort of your
home! The On Demand button on the remote control opens the Library
to view all categories that are available. Use the arrow key to go down
to the Movies on Demand category to view only movies. PPV events
are shown on Channel 399 in SD and some events are shown on
Channel 999 in HD.
Be aware that some events have ratings of Adult and TVMA. Remember
to set your Parental Controls to block any programs or titles that you
don’t want shown.
