Microwave Presence Detection

Microwave Presence Detection
APPLICATIONS
BENEFITS
Corridors and stairwells where a high level of impact/
vandal resistance is required.
• Microwave presence detectors are integral to the
luminaire, providing added vandal resistance.
The integral sensor is invisible from the outside.
Microwave presence detectors respond to every movement
of people or objects within the detection range, so the
following guidelines should be followed:
• Luminaires must be securely fixed to a solid surface
to avoid false-triggering caused by vibration.
• Microwave presence detectors can detect through
partition and single thickness solid walls.
• Keep the detection area/sensitivity at the lowest
setting that provides adequate coverage.
•
Two stage dimming process, upon detection the
luminaire switches on at 100%, after 5 minutes the
luminaire will dim to 10% output for a further 5 minutes
before switching off.
• Integral daylight sensor to ensure luminaire will only
illuminate during hours of darkness.
• All settings for time delay, light level and detection
range (sensitivity) can be adjusted by the user via
dip switches within the luminaire.
• Ensure the detection area is free of fixed sources
of movement such as fans & blinds.
• For wall mounted versions there must be a facing
wall no further than 10m from the luminaire.
Further distances could lead to false detections.
• The daylight sensor is integral to the luminaire. In order
for the sensor to detect daylight the lamp must have
completed a time out cycle and switched off.
