Customized water faucet variants for individual lavatories within the Airbus A380 program
supported by the airline and Airbus Industrial Design: Singapore Airlines, Qantas Airlines and
the A380 standard version with optoelectronic sensor or touch sensor (from above to below).
CUSTOMIZED SOLUTIONS FOR WASHING UNITS
Franke Aquarotter developed several models of comfortable
washbasin solutions for the Airbus A380 which will be applied
in the business and first-class lavatories. The various product
solutions were designed in response to specific customer
requirements of several international airlines, and were driven
by special spatial and installation conditions in the individual
lavatory modules.
The innovative technology provides low water consumption of
only 1.5 litres per minute and is mostly concealed behind the
wall. Perceptible are the user-friendly labelled wall mounted
faucets, which facilitate easy temperature selection by means of
two touch sensors and an LED temperature display. A separately
controlled electromechanical thermostat maintains the required
water temperature and at the same time provides safety against
scalding by keeping the temperature at a maximum of 40°C.
The flow of water is triggered either by an optoelectronic user
sensor or a touch sensor on the faucet. Thanks to the integrated
controller, which continuously monitors the faucet functions, it
is also possible to have real-time monitoring of the fresh-water
system within every aircraft lavatory.

WASHING HANDS IN FIRST CLASS
The German office müller/romca designed first-class washrooms for the Airbus A380 aircrafts from Deutsche Lufthansa.
The design team convinced the airline with its spatial concept.
Also on board: the customized lavatory water supply system for
first-class lavatories manufactured by Franke Aquarotter on
behalf of Airbus and Lufthansa.
Franke Aquarotter developed for the German airline automatic
optoelectronic fittings with an impressive elegant, matt chromed
design. With the intuitively usable temperature adjuster as well
as the associated LED temperature display, Franke created a
modular design that can be integrated into the mirror by the
system supplier of the sanitary modules. Invisible and
inaccessible for the user, the technical components are
located behind the mirror or under the washbasin.

Reference: First-class washroom for the Airbus A380 aircrafts
from Deutsche Lufthansa. The optoelectronic sensor, the spout
and the LED temperature display are integrated in the mirror. The
temperature can be adjusted on the left-hand side and on the righthand side there is a soap dispenser which is provided by Dasell.
