SECTION I
GENERAL INFORMATION
The U750M-HON is designed for an easy installation for the Honda ST1300P Motorcycle. This cable
Harness was designed for a Plug–N-Play installation. In conjunction with the Omega 90 Siren, the output
functions are highly configurable. Once the unit is installed configurations can be made easily without the
necessity of removing the wiring harness from the motorcycle. However, any changes made to the
operational function of the amplifier will require the cover of the Omega 90 to be removed.
The OEM Honda ST1300P Motorcycle is equipped with five (5) control switches numbered 1 through 5,
which are intended for siren and warning light control. The motorcycle also utilizes the vehicle horn button
that will interface with the siren control operations.
Although there practically is no limit to the operating functions available to the end user, our research has
shown than that two (2) primary modes of operation are preferred. This manual will also explain an
additional mode of operation as an example of how a simple modification can provide the effect of a totally
different siren package.
In order to fully understand what this motorcycle harness can achieve, it is recommended that you read the
manual of the Omega 90 Siren so that you can take full advantage of the choices this motorcycle harness
has to offer.
SECTION II
STANDARD CONFIGURATION
Switch 1-2-3 is a progressive slide switch with the 3 Position being momentary. Switch 4 is an on-off
latching rocker switch that will turn on all the warning lights. (Installers can vary these outputs) Switch 5
is an ignition controlled, latching on-off push button switch.
Standard installation disables the vehicle horn and replaces it with an electronic Airhorn. The standard
configuration cable harness interfaces with the OEM Honda as follows:
When the slide switch is in POSITION 1, the rear lights are turned on. (The power to the switch is supplied
through our cable). The Siren is then activated into the Wail function. When the slide switch is put into
POSITION 2, the front lights are added and the Siren is then producing the Yelp function. When the slide
switch is moved into POSITION 3 (momentary) the override function will provide 6-seconds of FUTURA
(The Omega 90 can override the FUTURA tone with Wail)
Switch 4 activates all warning lights (per the Honda Manual) with a simple throw of the rocker switch. At
that time our Harness will energize the TRANSFER function to change the vehicle horn button from
AIRHORN to a ‘Burst of Wail’ when activated. Unless a tone is being generated, via Switch 1 or Switch 2,
Switch 4 will provide a 6-second override of the selected tone. (This is an Omega 90 feature).
When Switch 5 is turned on, the Honda Headlight Flasher is energized. Our current Cable Harness will
then enable the Sweep function. The Sweep function can be activated in two (2) ways. By pressing the

vehicle horn when a tone is being generated, via Switch 1 or Switch 2. Or by pressing the momentary
Switch 3. By simply activating one of these two switches the Sweep function will stop. (This is an Omega
90 feature).
SECTION III
ALTERNATIVE CONFIGURATION
Some agencies prefer to have Switch 1 and Switch 2 control front and rear warning lights only, utilizing the
momentary Switch 3 to provide a ‘Burst of Wail’. To achieve this configuration, remove and cap the white
and gray wire from the screw terminal connector. The reference designator on the PCB is Wail and Yelp;
leaving the green wire connected in the MAN screw terminal. Then by simply moving the jumper (by the
purple wire) to ‘ON’ position, this will allow the Wail function to be activated by Switch 4. To obtain the
Yelp tone by Switch 5, move the jumper (by the red wire) to the ‘ON’ position. The Sweep and Transfer
function will still be activated by Switch 4 and Switch 5, as it does in the standard configuration.
SECTION IV
CUSTOMIZING CONFIGURATIONS
The Honda ST1300P switches one through five control the following colored wires:
Switch 1 provides 12Vdc to the white wire
Switch 2 provides 12Vdc to the gray wire
Switch 3 provides 12Vdc to the green wire
Switch 4 provides 12Vdc to the purple wire
Switch 5 provides 12Vdc to the red wire
By placing the green wire into the CHC (Choice) connector screw terminal, the Omega 90 can provide an
override tone of the users preference by holding the momentary Switch 3 on. (The FUTURA sound is a
common selection) This selected tone will be activated as long as the momentary switch is held on. Or
provide Airhorn by placing the green wire into the HRN connector screw terminal. Switch 2 could produce
the Wail tone by placing the gray wire into the WAIL connector screw terminal, etc.

SAFETY MESSAGES
WARNING
The lives of people depend on your safe
Installation and servicing of UNITROL products.
It is important to read and follow all instructions
shipped with the products. In addition, listed
below are some other important safety
instructions and precautions you should follow:
•
Be sure the siren amplifier and speaker(s) in
your installation have compatible wattage
ratings.
•
Connect all power (not ignition) and ground
wires directly to battery
•
Sound output will be severely reduced if any
objects are in front of this speaker. If
maximum sound output is required for your
application, you should ensure that the front
of the speaker is clear of any obstruction.
•
Install the speaker(s) in a location that
provides maximum signaling effectiveness
and minimizes the sound reaching the
vehicle’s occupants.
•
In order for this electronic siren to function
properly, the ground connection must be
made to the NEGATIVE battery terminal.
•
If wiring is shorted to vehicle frame, high
current conductors can cause hazardous
sparks resulting in electrical fires or flying
molten metal.
Before Installation
Qualifications
•
To properly install an electronic siren you
must have a good understanding of
automotive electrical procedures and systems,
along with proficiency in the installation and
service of safety warning equipment.
SOUND HAZARDS
•
•
Your hearing and the hearing of others, in or
close to your emergency vehicle, could be
damaged by loud sounds. This can occur
from short exposures to moderately loud
sounds. For hearing conservation guidance,
refer
to
federal,
state,
or
local
recommendations. OSHA Standard 1910.95
offers guidance on “Permissible Noise
Exposure.”
After Installation
All effective sirens and horns produce loud
sounds, which may, in certain situations,
cause permanent hearing loss. You should
minimize your exposure times and wear
suitable hearing protection.
During Installation
•
DO NOT connect this system to the vehicle
battery until ALL other electrical connections
are made, mounting of all components is
complete, and you have verified that no shorts
exist.
•
After installation, test the electronic siren and
speaker system to ensure that it is operating
properly.
•
Test all vehicle functions, including horn
operation and vehicle light systems, to ensure
proper operation.
•
After testing is complete, provide a copy of
these instructions to the instructional staff and
all operating personnel.

PA CAPIBILITY:
The J2 connector allow for the utilization of a microphone for the PA function. To utilize this function the
microphone cable can be purchased separately. This Part No. is UCAR. Please note that this microphone
cable incorporates the connector and Microphone Jack only. The compatible microphone Part No. is
UMNCT-SB. Both the microphone and cable can be purchased as a package with Part No. UMNCTR.
Please note that the UCAR includes a speaker wire. The speaker wire will not be used. These speaker
wires are for Radio Rebroadcast and is not applicable with the motorcycle configuration.
COMMON MICROPHONE ADAPTORS:
The J2 connector will also allow for the use of an LM Adaptor. This will allow for one common
microphone to be used for both the PA function or for dispatch radio transmissions. As with the UCAR
cable, disregard the extra speaker wires that are provide with the LM Adaptor. These speaker wires are for
Radio Rebroadcast and is not applicable with the motorcycle configuration. In order to utilize the LM
Adaptor, 12Vdc would need to be applied to the wire pad P5 to activate the LM Transfer function. Power
can be provided from either a remotely mounted switch or any of the motorcycle handlebar switches.
However, if you wish to utilize one of the motorcycle handlebar switches, siren operations may be
compromised. For desired results, if utilizing the LM Adaptor via the handlebar switches, consult the
