1. EINSATZ DER UHR BEIM TAUCHEN

Der Tauchsport ist eine sichere und befriedigende Freizeitaktivität, sofern die Tauchregeln beachtet werden. Dennoch ist stets mit bestimmten Risiken zu rechnen, so z.B. mit Taucherlähmung oder unvorhergesehenen Unfällen. Lassen Sie sich daher vor dem Tauchen in den richtigen Tauchverfahren unterweisen und führen Sie vor jedem Tauchgang die erforderlichen Sicherheitsprüfungen durch. Diese

Uhr sollten Sie erst dann benutzen, wenn Sie sich gründlich mit den Bedienungsanweisungen und Vorsichtsmaßnahmen vertraut gemacht haben und diese in allen Einzelheiten verstehen. Ein nicht in dieser

Bedienungsanleitung vorgesehener und unsachgemäßer Gebrauch kann zu Fehlfunktionen führen.

BESONDERE VORSICHT (Sicheres Tauchen)

Benutzen Sie dieses Produkt erst dann, wenn Sie in den richtigen Tauchverfahren unterwiesen wurden.

Tauchen Sie stets zusammen und mit einer anderen Person.

Diese Uhr ist kein Ersatz für einen Tauchpartner.

Dieses Produkt ist für Sporttauchen bis zu einer Tiefe von 30 Metern vorgesehen, wobei der Tiefenmesser jedoch bis zu einer Tiefe von max. 50 Metern arbeitet.

1. EINSATZ DER UHR BEIM TAUCHEN

Ein möglichst frühzeitiger Batteriewechsel empfi ehlt sich in jedem Fall, wobei die frische Batterie unter normalen Bedingungen eine Lebensdauer von ca. 2 Jahren hat.

Nach dem Tauchen ist unbedingt eine ausreichende Ruhepause gemäß den Tauchregeln einzuhalten. Das Fliegen in einem Luftfahrzeug oder den Aufstieg in größe Höhen direkt nach dem

Tauchen ohne ausreichende Pause kann zur Dekompressionskrankheit (Tauchkrankheit) führen.

Der Tiefenmesser der Uhr darf nur als Hilfs- oder Sicherungsfunktion benutzt werden.

Ein zu rascher Aufstieg zur Oberfl äche beim Tauchen ist unbedingt zu vermeiden, denn dadurch kann der Körper geschädigt u. U. sogar eine Taucherlähmung hervorgerufen werden. Daher ist eine sichere Aufstiegsgeschwindigkeit unerläßlich. Für das Sporttauchen wird eine Aufstiegsgeschwindigkeit von 9 Metern oder weniger pro Minute empfohlen, um die oben genannten Probleme von vornherein auszuschließen.

BESONDERE VORSICHT (Keine Benutzung des Tiefenmessers unter folgenden Umständen)

In Höhen über 4000 Metern: In diesem Fall ist eine präzise Tiefenmessung durch die Uhr unmöglich.

Bei Temperaturen außerhalb des garantierten Temperaturbereiches: -10°C bis +60°C.

1. EINSATZ DER UHR BEIM TAUCHEN

Bei potentiell gefährlichen Tätigkeiten oder Situationen:

Diese Uhr ist nicht für den Einsatz während Notfällen auf See und dergleichen vorgesehen.

Bei erforderlichem Einsatz eines Druckmessers (Nanometers):

Diese Uhr ist ausschließlich für die Messung von Wasserdruckstufen ausgelegt.

Tauchen in einem Umfeld mit Heliumanreicherung:

Diese Uhr ist nicht in einem mit Helium angereicherten Umfeld einzusetzen, da sonst Fehlfunktionen oder Betriebsausfall drohen.

VORSICHT

Bei Aktivierung der Batterie-Warnanzeige: Sobald die Batterie weitgehend verbraucht ist, schaltet das Display autom. von Tiefenmesser- auf die Uhrzeit-Anzeige um, der Sekundenzeiger beginnt mit

2-Sekunden-Schritten zu springen.

Bei erheblichen Anzeigedifferenzen zwischen dem Tiefenmesser (der Uhr) und anderen Tiefenmeßinstrumenten.

Bei Anhalten oder Fehlfunktionen der Uhr.

5. UHRZEIT-MODUS

Zum Wechsel von Tauch-Modus in den Uhrzeit-

Modus müssen Sie den Knopf (B) 2 Sekunden lang gedrückt halten. Zum Wechsel von Stoppuhr-

Modus auf Uhrzeit-Modus dagegen ist Knopf (B) einmal zu drücken.

Die Uhrzeit wird sowohl im 12- als auch im 24-Stunden-Format angezeigt.

Mit Ausnahme der Sekunden läßt sich die Zeit auch in den beiden anderen Betriebsarten ablesen.

5. UHRZEIT-MODUS

HANDHABUNG DER KRONE ÜBER DIE SCHRAUBARRETIERUNG

Zum Entriegeln die Krone nach links drehen.

Zum Verriegeln die Krone nach rechts drehen, bis sie sich wieder in der Ausgangslage befi ndet.

Die Krone ist nach der Einstellung der Uhr immer in ihre ursprüngliche Position zurückzustellen und zu verriegeln.

Niemals einen Knopf betätigen, während die Krone herausgezogen ist.

Die Krone niemals herausziehen oder drehen, wenn sie naß ist, da hierbei Wasser ins Innere gelangen kann und dadurch Funktionsstörungen verursacht werden können.

HINWEIS: Vergewissern Sie sich zunächst, dass der Betriebsartenzeiger auf „TM“ weist und damit der Uhrzeit-Modus aktiviert ist.

Die Krone des CHRIS BENZ DEPTHMETER Chronographen ist verschraubt und muss erst gelöst werden, um Einstellungen vornehmen zu können! Bitte die Krone nicht im Wasser oder wenn die Uhr nass ist bedienen. Die Uhr ist nur wasserdicht, wenn die Krone verschraubt und somit richtig verschlossen ist.

6. EINSTELLEN DER UHRZEIT UND DES KALENDERS

EINSTELLUNG DER ZEIT:

Ziehen Sie die Krone auf die zweite Position heraus (2) .

Durch drehen der Krone bitte Minuten-und Stundenzeiger auf die gewünschte Zeit einstellen.

Die Krone wieder in ihre Ausgangsstellung hineindrücken.

EINSTELLUNG DES KALENDERS:

Ziehen Sie die Krone auf die erste Position heraus (1) .

Durch drehen der Krone bitte gewünschten Wochentag und Datum einstellen.

Nachdem Sie die Zeit und den Kalender korrekt eingestellt haben, bitte die

Krone in Ausgangsstellung hineindrücken und sicher verschrauben.

HINWEIS: Verstellen Sie Tag und Datum nicht, wenn sich die Zeiger zwischen

21 und 4 Uhr befi nden, da diese dann eventl. nicht richtig wechseln.

Mit dem Registerring können Sie schnell und einfach die vergangene Tauchzeit sowie die noch zur Verfügung stehende Tauchzeit und somit ihre Tauchdauer feststellen.

BESTIMMUNG DER VERGANGENEN ZEIT:

Stellen Sie die Null-Position der Lünette (gekennzeichnet mit einem Leuchtpunkt) auf den Minutenzeiger und lesen Sie die vergangene Zeit auf dem Registerring ab.

BESTIMMUNG DER NOCH ZUR VERFÜGUNG STEHENDEN ZEIT:

Stellen Sie die Null-Position auf eine Wunschzeit und lesen

Sie die verbleibende Zeit auf der Lünette ab.

ABGELAUFENE ZEIT:

Die Abbildung zeigt, dass seit

10.10 Uhr 10 Minuten abgelaufen sind.

Zum Wechsel von Uhrzeit- oder Stoppuhr-Modus in den Tauch-Modus müssen Sie den Knopf (B) 2

Sekunden lang gedrückt halten.

ABLESEN DER TIEFENWERTE

Nach dem Wechsel auf Tauch-Modus setzt mit dem Beginn des Tauchgangs automatisch die

Tiefenmessung ein.

Die Tiefe wird bis zu einem Wert von maximal

50 Metern in 1m-Schritten gemessen und angezeigt.

Meßintervall beträgt 1 Messung pro Sekunde.

ABLESEN DES TIEFENWERTS

Während des Tauchens wird die aktuelle Tiefe vom Tiefenzeiger angegeben. Ab einer Tiefe von 1

Meter beginnt sich der Tiefenzeiger zu drehen, so dass Tiefen unter 1 Meter als 0 registriert werden.

In Tiefen über 50 Meter stoppt der Tiefenzeiger an der Marke für Überschreitungszone

(53 Minuten) und bleibt unverändert in dieser Position stehen, bis der Taucher in Tiefen von weniger als 50 Meter zurückkehrt.

DER MAXIMALTIEFENSPEICHER

Die Uhr registriert (in 1m-Schritten) automatisch die während eines Tauchgangs erreichte maximale Tiefe. Dieser gespeicherte Wert bleibt solange bestehen, bis die Uhr erneut auf Tauch-

Modus gestellt und eine Mindesttiefe von 1m erreicht wird.

ABRUF DES SPEICHERWERTS

Im Uhrzeit- oder Tauch-Modus (bei Tiefenanzeige 0) den Knopf (A) drücken, worauf der Funktionszeiger die maximal erreichte Tiefe anzeigt.

Durch erneutes drücken von Knopf (A) oder nach kontinuierlicher Aktivierung für die Dauer von 30 Sekunden wird die Speicherwertanzeige aufgehoben.

8. TAUCH-MODUS

RÜCKSCHALTAUTOMATIK

Wenn der Funktionszeiger der Uhr im Tauch-

Modus 30 Minuten lang eine Tiefe von 0m anzeigt, schaltet die Uhr automatisch in den normalen Uhrzeit-Modus zurück.

ALLGEMEIN

Tiefenwerte unter 1 Meter werden nicht abgespeichert.

DEAKTIVIERUNG BEI FEHLFUNKTION

Wenn die Uhr bei fehlerhafter Arbeitsweise des Tiefenmessers auf Tauch-Modus geschaltet wird, zeigt der Funktionszeiger auf die

Überschreitungszone-Markierung, so dass eine Tiefenmessung unmöglich ist. In diesem

Fall müssen Sie auf den Uhrzeit-Modus zurückschalten.

Sobald die Batterie weitgehend erschöpft ist, werden die Daten im Tiefenwertspeicher gelöscht. Daher empfi ehlt es sich unbedingt, wichtige Tiefenwertdaten in einem Logbuch schriftlich festzuhalten.

Bei erstmaliger Nutzung dieser Funktion ist die Anzeige der Daten aus der Produktprüfung durch den Hersteller möglich.

Tiefen über 50 Meter werden als Überschreitungszonen-Anzeige gespeichert.

8. TAUCH-MODUS

MASSNAHMEN FÜR PRÄZISE TIEFENMESSUNG

Kurz vor Beginn des Tauchgangs die Uhr auf Tauch-Modus stellen.

Bei erheblichem Unterschied zwischen Luft- und Wassertemperatur ist die Uhr zunächst

2 bis 3 Minuten ins Wasser einzutauchen und erst dann auf Tauch-Modus zu schalten.

Der Betriebsartenzeiger muss auf „DIV“ und der Funktionszeiger auf „0“ weisen, nachdem der

Tauch-Modus aktiviert wurde. Bei falscher Zeigerstellung ist eine Gesamtrückstellung erforderlich.

HINWEIS: Während des Tauchens dürfen Sie keinesfalls die Krone herausziehen oder drehen bzw. die Knöpfe drücken. Andernfalls kann Wasser in das Uhrengehäuse eindringen.

8. TAUCH-MODUS

TAUCHEN IN GROSSER HÖHE/BINNENGEWÄSSER

Bei aktiviertem Tauch-Modus erfolgt die Tiefenkalibrierung auf 0m abhängig vom Umgebungsluftdruck. Daher ist die Uhr auch beim Tauchen in Binnengewässern selbst in großer Höhe einsetzbar, sofern der Tauch-Modus jeweils direkt vor Ort aktiviert wird.

Allerdings ist in Höhen über 4.000 Meter eine genaue Tiefenmessung unmöglich. Vermeiden Sie daher unbedingt die Benutzung der Uhr in solchen Fällen. Außerdem ist zu beachten, dass die Tiefenmessung der Uhr auf Salzwasser (mit Standarddichtte von 1.025) basiert, so dass im Süßwasser die tatsächlichen Tiefenwerte jeweils 2,5% größer als die gemessenen Anzeigenwerte sind.

Tauchen Sie in Binnengewässern bzw. großen Höhen erst nach

Abschluss eines ausreichenden Sicherheitstrainings.

HINWEIS: 20m (angezeigter Tiefenwert) x 1.025 = 20,5m (tatsächliche Tiefe).

Die Stoppuhr kann bis zu 50 Minuten in

1/20 Schritten (0.05 Sekunden) messen.

Nach Ablauf von 50 Minuten stoppt die Messung und die Stoppuhr wird auf ihren Anfangswert rückgestellt.

Der 1/20-Sekundenzeiger der Stoppuhr bewegt sich 30 Sekunden lang und kehrt dann in die

Betribsbereitschaftsposition „0“ zurück. Die gemessene Zeit wird angezeig, sobald die Zeitnahme mit der Stoppuhr abgeschlossen ist.

RÜCKSCHALTAUTOMATIK

Wenn die Uhr 3 Minuten oder länger die

Anfangswerte für Stoppuhr-Modus anzeigt, schaltet die Uhr automatisch in den normalen

Uhrzeit-Modus zurück.

10. FEHLERBEHEBUNG

DER SEKUNDENZEIGER BEWEGT SICH IN 2-SEKUNDEN-SCHIRTTEN

Das passiert, wenn die Batterie-Warnanzeige aktiviert wird, die den Benutzer warnt, dass die Batterie weitgehend erschöpft ist. In diesem Fall sollte so schnell wie möglich die Batterie ausgewechselt werden. Die Uhr zeigt dann noch korrekt die Zahl an, doch andere Funktionen sind wie folgt beeinträchtigt:

Die Alarme ertönen nicht.

Das Umschalten in den Tauch-Modus (Bereitschaft-Status) ist deaktiviert.

Das Umschalten in den Stoppuhr-Modus ist deaktiviert.

IM STOPPUHR-MODUS: Der Stoppuhr-Minutenzeiger weist nicht auf „0“. Der Stoppuhr-Sekundenzeiger weist nicht auf „0“. Der Stoppuhr-

1/20-Sekundenzeiger weist nicht auf „0“.

11. WERKSEINSTELLUNG ZURÜCKSETZEN (RESET)

VORGEHEN

Die Krone aufschrauben und herausziehen.

Alle zwei Knöpfe (A) und (B) gleichzeitig drücken und loslassen.

Die Gesamtrückstellung ist abgeschlossen, wenn sich der Funktionszeiger leicht bewegt.

Durch Drücken von Knopf (A) lassen sich Betriebsarten- und Funktionszeiger gleichzeitig bewegen.

Diese beiden Zeiger sind auf „0“ zu stellen. Durch Gedrückthalten von Knopf (A) werden die beiden

Zeiger schnell vorwärts bewegt.

Durch Drücken von Knopf (B) den Sekundenzeiger auf „0“ stellen.

Der Zeiger bewegt sich rasch vorwärts, wenn Knopf (B) gedrücktgehalten wird.

Nun die aktuelle Uhrzeit einstellen. Hierzu gemäß den Anweisungen im Kapitel „EINSTELLEN DER UHRZEIT UND DES KALENDERS“ vorgehen.

Die Krone in ihre ursprüngliche Position zurückstellen, dann auf sie drücken und dabei drehen, bis sie arretiert ist. Die Uhr schaltet daraufhin auf den Uhrzeit-Modus zurück.

12. UMGANG MIT DER BATTERIE

LEBENSDAUER

Eine frisch eingesetzte Batterie hat eine Lebensdauer von ungefähr zwei Jahren.

MITGELIEFERTE BATTERIE

Die beim Kauf der Uhr bereits eingesetzte Batterie dient beim Hersteller als Stromquelle für die Funktions- und Leistungsprüfungen vor dem Versand. Beachten Sie bitte daher, dass diese

Batterie in Sonderfällen nicht zwei Jahre vorhalten kann.

AUSTAUSCH DER BATTERIE

Überlassen Sie bitte den Batterieaustausch dem Fachmann. Wenden Sie sich daher bei verbrauchter Batterie an einen CHRIS BENZ Fachhändler oder direkt an unser Service Center.

Beim Batteriewechsel sollte auch eine Prüfung der Wasserdichtigkeit, der einwandfreien

Funktion aller Teile sowie ein Austausch des Dichtungsmaterials erfolgen.

Vor längerem Gebrauch der Uhr im Ausland empfi ehlt sich ein Batterieaustausch, da u. U. diese

Dienstleistung dann vor Ort und Stelle nicht verfügbar ist. Der Batterieaustausch, die Inspektion der Uhr sowie der Austausch von Ersatzteilen ist - auch in der Garantiezeit - gebührenpfl ichtig.

13. DEKOMPRESSIONSTABELLE

Auf dem Kautschukarmband der CHRIS BENZ

Modelle sind die dekompressionsfreien Bereiche gemäß dem „American Navy Diving Manual“ aufgedruckt.

Die Nullzeit ist beim Tauchen mit Drucklufttauchgerät die durch die Dekompressionstabelle vorgegebene Zeitspanne, in der man ohne

Dekompressionsstopp (zeitliches Verharren in einer bestimmten Tiefe) an die Wasseroberfl äche zurückkehren kann. Je tiefer man taucht, desto kürzer ist die Nullzeit.

1. DIVING WITH THIS WATCH

Diving can be safe, enjoyable activity when diving rules are properly followed. It is always, however, accompanied by certain risks including diver´s paralysis and unanticipated accidents. Before diving please obtain proper dinving instruction and be sure to conduct safety checks. Please use this watch only after you have read and fully understood the operating procedures and cautions in these instructions. Using this watch other than as indicated in these instructions may result in failured of the watch to function properly.

Always use the buddy system. This watch is not a substitute for a diving partner.

This product is recommended for sports diving to depths of up to 30 meters, although the depth indicator will measure depths up to 50 meters.

1. DIVING WITH THIS WATCH

Early battery replacement is recommended. A new battery will last approximately 2 years.

However, this will very greatly depending on the frequently of depthmeter use.

Be sure to reset suffi ciently after diving, as specifi ed by diving rules. Riding in an airplane or moving to a high altitude too soon after diving may cause decompression sickness.

Use the depthmeter function of this watch only as an auxiliary or backup instrument.

Avoid rapid ascents when diving, as these adversely affect the human body, including causing diver´s paralysis. Maintain a safe ascent speed while diving. An ascent of 9 meters or less per minute is recommended for sports diving to avoid various possible problems.

WARNING (Do not use the depth meter when)

In locations with altitudes exceeding 4000 meters (13124ft):

The watch will be unable to measure depth accuretly.

In temperatures outside of the warranted temperature range: -10°C bis +60°C.

In potentially dangerous activities or conditions: This watch is not designed for use in maritime emergencies or to prevent sea disasters and such like.

A substitude for a pressure gauge is needed: This watch is not designed to gauge pressures other than those associates with water depth.

Diving using a helium enriched area:

This watch can not be used in a helium enriched enviroment/area, as this may cause malfunction or breakage.

CAUTION

The low-battery warning indicator is activated: As the battery approaches the end of its life, the display switches automatically from the depthmeter display to the time display and the second hand begin to move in 2 second steps.

The watch its depth readings differ greatly from those of other depth measuring instruments.

GENERAL

The time mode displays both 12 and 24-hours time.

With the exception of the second hand, the time may be read even while using the other modes.

HANDLING OF THE SCREW LOCK CROWN

To open the crown screw it to the left side.

To close the crown screw it to the right side until to the position before opening. Check the crown to ensure waterproofness.

Always return the crown to its original position and lock it when fi nished setting the watch.

Do not press any buttons while the crown is pulled out and open.

Do not pull out or open the crown when it is wet. Doing so may allow water to seep inside the watch and cause a malfunction.

The crown of your CHRIS BENZ DEPTHMETER Chronograph model is a screw-lock type and has to be opened fi rst before settings can be made! Please don´t open the crown in the water or if the watch is wet. The watch will be only water-resistant if the crown is locked and securely closed.

Pull the crown out to the second position (2) .

You can set the minute and hour hand by turning the crown.

After setting please push back the crown.

SETTING THE CALENDAR:

Pull the crown out to the fi rst position (1) .

You can set the weekday and date by turning the crown.

After setting time and calendar please push back the crown in basic position and screw it securely.

ATTENTION: Don´t set weekday and date between 9:00 PM and

4:00 AM otherwise it could impete proper function of your watch.

ABOUT DEPTH READINGS

After switching to the diving mode, depth readings will commence automatically when diving begins.

The depth will be measured and displayed in 1 meter increments up to 50 meters.

Measurement interval: Once/Second.

READING THE DEPTH

While diving, the number indicated by the depth indicator hand (the function hand) is the present diving depth. The depth indicator hand begins to function at a depth of 1 meter.

It registers depths less than 1 meter as 0. At depths over 50 meters, the hand stops on the

Over Zone Marc (53 minutes) and remains there until returning to depths less than 50 meters.

THE MAXIMUM DEPTH MEMO FUNCTION

This watch automatically records the maximum depth reached during a dive (in 1 meter increments). This memo is retained until the watch is set to the diving mode again and a depth of

1 meter or more is reached.

CALLING THE MAXIMUM DEPTH MEMO

While in the time mode or diving mode (a depth of 0 is displayed) press button (A) . The function hand will display the maximum depth.

Pressing button (A) a second time or leaving the memo displayed continuously for 30 seconds will release the maximum depth memo display.

8. DIVING MODE

AUTO-RETURN-SYSTEM

The watch automatically returns to the time mode if the function hand remains at

0 meter for longer than 30 minutes in the diving mode.

ABNORMAL ACTIVATION PREVENTION FUNCT.

If the depthmeter is functioning abnormally for some reason, the function hand will point to the Over Zone Mark when the watch is switched to the diving mode, and depth measurement will not be possible.

In such a case, switch back to the time mode.

GENERAL

A depth less than 1 meter is not recorded.

The data in the maximum depth memo will be cleared when the battery reaches the end of its life. Be sure to record necessary memo information in a log book.

The fi rst time this function is used, it may display data that was used in product testing.

Depths over 50 meters will be recorded as the Over Zone Mark.

8. DIVING MODE

MAKING ACCURATE DEPTH READINGS

Switch the watch to the diving mode shortly before diving.

When there is a great difference between the air and water temperature, immerse the watch in the water for 2-3 minutes before switching it into the diving mode.

Confi rm that the mode hand points to „DIV“ and the function hand points to „0“ when the watch is switched to the diving mode. If the hands are in the wrong position an all reset is required.

ATTENTION: Never pull out or turn the crown or press the buttons while diving.

Doing so may cause water to penetrate the case.

8. DIVING MODE

HIGH ALTITUDE/FRESHWATER DIVING

When the diving mode is activated, the depth is calibrated at 0 meter based on the surrounding air pressure. This enables the watch to be used while diving at high altitudes and/or in lakes, as long as the diving mode is activated at the altitude.

However, an accurate measurement is not possible at altitudes over 4.000 meters. Do not use this watch when diving in such places. Further, this watch displays changes in depth based on a standard of seawater (density 1.025). Depths indicated in fresh water will actually be about 2.5% over indicated.

Be sure to complete appropriate safety training before diving in fresh water or at high altitudes.

ATTENTION: 20 meters (indicated depth) x 1.025 = 20,5 meters (actual/real depth).

ATTENTION: Changeover to another mode is disabled during the chronograph measurement.

GENERAL

The chronograph can measure up to 50 Minutes in 1/20 steps (0.05 seconds).

After 50 minutes measurement will stop automatically and the chronograph will return to the reset position.

The chronograph 1/20 second hand will move for 30 seconds, after which it will return to stand-by at the „0“ position. The time measured will be displayed when chronograph measurement is stopped.

AUTO-RETURN-SYSTEM

The watch automatically returns to the time mode if the function hand remains at 0 meter for longer than 30 minutes in the diving mode.

10. FAULT RECTIFICATION

THE SECOND HAND GOES AT 2-SECOND INTERVALS

This action occurs, when the battery rundown warning is activated, which warns the user that the battery will run down soon. In this case, replace the battery in advance of its lifetime. The watch keeps rect time during this occurrence. However, when this warning function is on, other functions are inhibited as follows:

All alarms do not sound.

Changeover to the diving mode (Ready state) is disabled.

Changeover to the chronograph mode is disabled.

11. FACTORY SETTING (RESET)

PROCEDURE

Unscrew the crown to release it and pull it out two steps.

Simultaneously press button (A) and (B) and then release them.

The all reset is complete if the function hand moves slightly.

Pressing button (A) will allow the mode hand and the function hand to move simultaneously.

Set both of these to the „0“ position. Move the two hands forward rapidly by pressing button (A) continuously.

Align the second hand in the „0“ position by pressing button (B) .

Move the two hands forward rapidly by pressing button (B) continuously.

Set the correct time.

Refer to capter „SETTING THE TIME AND CALENDAR“ for instructions.

Push the crown back to its original position, press down and turn it to screw lock it back in place.

The watch will restart in the time mode.

12. THE BATTERY

BATTERY LIFE

The new battery installed in this watch will last approximately 2 years.

THE ORIGINAL BATTERY

The battery in the watch at the time of purchase is one to test the function and performance of the watch. Please be aware that this battery may not last for the 2 years estimated for normal batteries.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

All battery replacements should be done by our Service Center. To replace the battery, please contact the place of purchase or contact a Service Center directly.

When replacing the battery, inspection of water resistance and other parts should be conducted and packing materials replaced as necessary.

Before using this watch for long periods overseas, it´s recommended that a battery replacement as well as service of your watch should be executed. A charge for battery replacement and related inspection and parts replacement will issued, even within the specifi ed warranty period.

13. NO DECOMPRESSION LIMITS CHART

On the rubber strap of your CHRIS BENZ model you can read the decompress-free areas according to the „American Navy Diving Manual“.

A no-decompression limit (NDL) is a time limit.

No-decompression limits vary from dive to dive.

A diver who stays underwater longer than the no-decompression limit for his dive can not ascend directly to the surface, but must break periodically as he ascends to avoid a high risk of decompression sickness. A diver should be never exceed a no-decompression limit without specialized training in decompression procedures.

1. PLONGÈE AVEC CETTE MONTRE

La plongée est une activité sare et agréable pourvu que certaines régles soient correctement respectées. toutefois, certains risques, tels une paralysie du, plongeur et des accidents imprévisibles rstent toujours inhérents á cette activité. Avant de plongeur, familiarisez-vous avec toutes les instructions concernant la plongée et veilez á effectuer les contréles de sécurité. Utilisez cette montre uniquement aprés avoir lu et compris parfaitement fes procédures d´utilisation et els précautions mentionnées.

L´utilisation de cette montre d´une maniére différente de celle indiquée dans cette brochure pourrait entrainer un mauvais fonctionnement.

AVERTISSEMENT (Pour une plongée sans danger)

Utilisez cet instrument uniquement aprés avoir recu les instructions nécessaires á une plongée en toute sécurite.

Plongez toujours en „tandem“. Cette montre n´est pas un substitut pour un coéquipier.

Cet instrument est recommandé pour la plongée sportive á des profondeurs d´environ 30 métres, bien que son indicateur de profondeur puisse mesure des profondeurs allant jusqu´á 50 métres.

1. PLONGÈE AVEC CETTE MONTRE

Nous recommandons de remplacer la pile sans attendre son équisement. Une pile neuve durera environ

2 ans. Cependant, cette autonomie varie fortement selon la fréquence d´utilisation de l´instrument.

Reposez-vous suffi samment aprés la plongée comme l´imposent les régles. Voyager en avion ou passer trop rapidement á une altitude élevée aprés la plongée peut provoquer le mal des caissons.

Utilisez la fonction profondimétre de cette montre uniquement á titre d´instrument d´appoint ou de réserve.

Evitez les remontées rapides qui sont néfastes au corps humain et qui peuvent entrainer la paralysie du plongeur. Une vitesse de remontée voisine de 9 métres ou moins par minute est recommandée pour les sports sous-marine afi n d´eviter divers problémes possibles.

AVERTISSEMENT (Situations impropres á l´emploi du profondimétre)

Dans des endroits dont l´altitude dépasse 4000 métres:

Un substitut de manométre est nécessaire. Cette montre n´est pas concue pour mesurer des pressions autres que celles associées á la profondeur de l´eau.

Plongée dans un environnement enrichi á l´hélium:

Cette montre ne peut pas étre utilisée dans un environnement enrichi

á l´hélium car ceci pourrait provoquer une défaillance ou une panne.

AVERTISSEMENT

L´indicateur de décharge de pile est en service: Lorque la pile est presque épuisée, l´affi chage passe automatiquement du profondimétre á celui de l´heure et la trotteuse commence á se déplacer par paliers de 2 secondes.

Les valeurs affi chées par la montre différent fortement de celles d´autres instruments de mesure de profondeur.

Pour déverrouiller, tournez la couronne vers la gauche.

Pour verrouiller la couronne dans le sens horaire jusqu‘à ce qu‘il soit à nouveau dans la situation initiale.

Ramenez toujours la couronne á sa position originale et verrouillez-ia, une fois la montre réglée.

N´actionnez pas les boutons lorsque la couronne est tirée.

Ne tirez pas sur la couronne et ne la tournez pas si la montre est mouillée, car une pénétration d´eau pourrait provoquer une défaillance.

La couronne de votre CHRIS BENZ DEPTHMETER Chronograph est vissée et doit seulement être dévissée pour faire des réglages. Veuillez ne pas manipuler la couronne dans l’eau ou lorsque la montre est mouillée. L’étanchéité est garantie que si la couronne est parfaitement vissée.

Tirer la couronne, la mettre en position (2) .

L’aiguille des secondes s’arrêtera lorsque la couronne sera en position (2) .

Tourner la couronne pour le réglage de l’heure.

Une fois le réglage effectué, appuyez, puis vissez la couronne.

Nous rappelons que, pour garantir l’étanchéité, la couronne doit être vissée à fond.

RÈGLAGE DU JOUR ET DE LA DATE THE CALENDAR:

Tirer la couronne, la mettre en position (1) .

Tourner la couronne, dans un sens vous allez faire le réglage du jour et, dans l’autre sens, le réglage du jour.

Une fois le réglage effectué, appuyez, puis vissez la couronne.

Nous rappelons que, pour garantir l’étanchéité, la couronne doit être vissée à fond.

RÈFÈRENCE: Nous vous conseillons de régler la date et l’heure entre 5 et 21 heures.

7. LA LUNETTE

Avec la lunette, vous pouvez rapidement et simplement déterminer le temps de plongée écoulé ainsi que le temps de plongée restant et, ainsi, déterminer le temps total de votre plongée.

LECTURE DE LA PROFONDEUR

Pendant la plongée, le nombre indique par l´aiguille du profondimétre est la profondeur actuelle de plongée. L´aiguille du profondimétre fonctionne á partir d´une profondeur d´1 métre. Toutes les profondeurs inférieures á 1 m sont enregistrées en tant que 0. Pour les profondeurs excédant 50 métres, l´aiguilles s´arréte sur le repére de dépassement (53 minutes) et y reste bloquée jusqu á ce que la profondeur revienne á moins de 50 métres.

MÈMOIRE DE LA PROFONDEUR MAXIMALE

Cette montre enregistre automatiquement la profondeur atteinte (par incréments de 1m) durant la plongée. Ce mémo reste en mémoire jusqu á ce que la montre soit á nouveau spécifi ée sur le mode de plongée et qu´une profondeur d´1m au minimum est atteinte.

MEMOIRE DE LA VALEUR

Tandis que la montre est dans le mode de l´heure ou le mode de plongée (une profondeur de 0 est affi chée), appuyez sur le bouton (A) . L´aiguille de fonction affi chera la profondeur maximale enregistrée.

En appuyant sur le bouton (A) une seconde fois ou en laissant le mémo affi ché pendant 30 secondes, le mémo de profondeur maximale ne sera plus affi ché.

8. MODE PLONGÈE

RETOUR AUTOMATIQUE

Cette montre revient automatiquement au mode de l´heure si l´aiguille de fonction reste sur 0 metre pendant plus 30 minutes dans le mode de plongée.

GÈNÈRAL

Les profondeurs inférieures á 1 métre ne sont pas enregistrées.

FONCTION DE PRÈVENTION CONTRE

UNE ACTIVATION ANORMALE

Les données fi gurant dans le mémo de profondeur maximale sont effacées lorsque la pile est épuisée. N´oubliez pas de les enregistrer dans votre carnet de plongée.

Si le profondimetre, pour une raison quelconque, fonctionne anormalement, l´aiguille de fonction pointera sur le repére de dépassement lorsque la montre sera spécifi ée au mode de plongée et la mesure de profondeur sera impossible. Dans ce cas, revenez au mode de l´heure.

Pour sa premiere utilisation, cette fonction peut affi cher des données qui ont été utilisées lors des tests de produit.

Les profondeurs supérieures á 50 métres seront enregistrées en dépassement.

Lorsqu´il y a une grande différence entre la température de l´air et celle de l´eau, plongez la montre dans l´eau pendant 2 ou 3 minutes avant de régler le mode de plongée.

Assurez-vous que l´aiguille de mode pointe bien sur „DIV“ et que l´aiguille de fonction est bien sur „0“, lorsque la montre passe au mode de plongée. Si les aiguilles sont á une mauvaise position, veuillez vous référer á total de la provision.

RÈFÈRENCE: Ne tentez jamais de tirer sur la couronne, de la faire tourner ou d´appuyer sur les boutons pendant la plongée. Dans ce cas, l´eau pénétrerait dans le boitier.

8. MODE PLONGÈE

PLONGÈE EN HAUTE ALTITUDE ET EN EAU DOUCE

Lorsque le mode de plongée est activé, la profondeur est calibrée á 0 métre sur la base de la pression d´air environnante. Ce principe permet á la montre d´étre utilisée pour plonger á des altitudes

élevées et/ou dans des lacs, aussi longtemps que le mode de plongée est activé á cette altitude.

Cependat, une mesure précise est impossible á une altitude supérieure á 4.000 métres. N´utilisez pas cette montre lorsque vous plongez dans de tels endroits. De plus cette montre affi che les changements de profondeur en fonction des normes de salinité de l´eau de mer (densite 1.025).

Les profondeurs indiquées lors de la plongée en eau douce seront en réalité supérieures de 2,5%

á celles indiquées. größer als die gemessenen Anzeigenwerte sind.

Accomplissez un entrainement approprié sur la sécurité avant de plonger dans de l´eau douce ou en altitude élevée.

RÈFÈRENCE: 20 métres (profondeur indiquée) x 1.025 = 20,5m (profondeur réelle en eau douce).

RÈFÈRENCE: La permutation á un autre mode est invalidée pendant le chronométrage.

GÈNÈRAL

Le chronométre peut mesurer jusqu á 50 minutes en unités de 1/20 steps (0.05 secondes).

Au bout 50 minutes la mesure s´arréte automatiquement et le chronométre revient á la position de remise á zéro.

L´aiguille 1/20 seconde de chronométre va courir pendant 30 secondes, avant de revenir en mode d´attente á la position „0“. Le temps mesuré est affi ché lorsque la mesure chronométre cesse.

RETOUR AUTOMATIQUE

Cette montre revient automatiquement au mode de l´heure si la remise á zéro du chronométre reste affi chée pendant plus de

3 minutes.

10. ÈLIMINATION DES DÈFAUTS

LA TROTTEUSE SE DÈPLACE À INTERVALLES DE 2 SECONDES

Ce mouvement de la trotteuse se produit pour signaler que la pile est presque épuisée. Dans ce cas, replacez la pile le plus tót possible. La montre conserve sa précision dans ce cas. Notez cependant que les fonctions suivantes sont inhibées quand cette fonction d´avertissement est en service:

Aucune sonnerie ou alarme ne retentit.

La permutation au mode plongée avec affi chage (Prét) est impossible.

La permutation au mode chronométre avec affi chage est impossible.

11. TOTAL DE LA PROVISION

APPROCHE

Dévisser la couronne pour la libérer et tirez-la sur deux crans.

Appuyez simultanément sur les boutons (A) et (B) , puis reláchez-les. La total de la provision est terminée si l´aiguille de fonction se déplacce légérement.

Appuyez sur le bouton (A) pour que l´aiguille de mode et l´aiguille de fonction a se déplacent simultanément. Réglez-les sur la positiono. Faites bouger les aiguilles rapidement en gardant le bouton (A) enfoncé.

Alignez l´aiguille des secondes sur la position „0“ en appuyant sur le bouton (B) .

Faites-la bouger rapidement en gardant le bouton (B) enfoncé.

Réglez l´heure correcte. Reportez-vous á la instructions sur le „RÈGLAGE DE LA DATE ET DE L´HEURE„.

Repoussez la couronne á sa position d´origine, appuyez dessus et tournez-la pour la revisser en place. La montre repassera au mode de l´heure.

12. LA PILE

LA DURÈE DE VIE

La durée de vie de la pile est d’environ 2 ans.

UTILISER LA PILE

Il est nécessaire à votre revendeur, afi n de vérifi er le bon fonctionnement de votre montre, de mettre la pile en route. Il se peut alors que la pile n’atteigne pas l’autonomie normale de 2 ans.

REMPLACEMENT DE LA PILE

Veuillez obligatoirement faire remplacer la pile auprès d’un revendeur agréé CHRIS BENZ, ou auprès de notre service client CHRIS BENZ.

Il est fortement conseillé de faire contrôler l’étanchéité de votre montre lors du remplacement de la pile, voir de procéder au remplacement des joints.

Le remplacement de la pile ne peut pas être pris en charge par la garantie. Donc, il sera à votre charge même si la pile n’atteint pas sa durée de vie standard d’environ 2 ans.

Sur le bracelet caoutchouc est imprimée une table de décompression selon le „American Navy

Diving Manual“.

Le temps zéro est lors d‘une plongée avec table à air comprimé plongée de décompression spécifi é par le périphérique, la période de temps pendant laquelle vous pouvez retourner sans décompression (persistance temporelle à une profondeur donnée) à la surface de l‘eau. Le plus profond de vous plonger, plus le temps zéro.
