z

The fixture is equipped with 3-pin XLR sockets for DMX input and output. The sockets are wired in parallel. Only use a shielded twisted-pair cable designed for 3-pin XLR-plugs and connectors in order to connect the controller with the fixture or one fixture with another.

Occupation of the XLR-connection:

Building a serial DMX-chain:

z

If you are using the standard DMX-controllers, you can connect the DMX-output of the controller directly with the DMX-input of the first fixture in the DMX-chain.

If you wish to connect DMX-controllers with other XLR-outputs, you need to use adapter cables. z

Connect the DMX-output of the first fixture in the DMX-chain with the

DMX-input of the next fixture. Always connect output with the input of the next fixture until all fixtures are connected.

Caution: At the laser fixture, the DMX-cable has to terminated with a terminator. Solder a 120 Ohm resistor between Signal (-) and Signal (+) into a 3-pin XLR-plug and plug and plug it in the

7. HOW TO SET UP AND CONTEROL THE UNIT

z

Regular breaks during operation are essential to maximize the life of this device as it is not designed for continual use. z

Do not switch the unit on and off in short time intervals as this reduces the lamp life. z

Always unplug the unit when it is not used for a longer time. Or before replacing the bulb or star servicing. z

In the event of serious operating problems, stop using the fixture and contact your dealer immediately. z

Important: Never look directly into the laser beam! Don’t use the effect in the presence of persons suffering from epilepsy.

Good to know: Every time you turn the unit on, it moves the motors to their

‘home’ position so you may hear some noises for several seconds. After that the unit will be ready to receive DMX signal or run the built-in programs.

You can operate the unit in 5 ways:

7.1 MUSIC CONTROLLED STAND-ALONE MODE:

z

Set DIP switch number 10 in OFF and 1-9 are stand-alone position.(display show “---” )

9

Laser Show System z

Put on some rhythmic music at the desired level. z

Turn the music sensitivity potentiometer until the laser beam nicely follows the beat of the music.

7.2 MULTI-UNIT WORK TOGETHER(need connect by the

cable)

z

Set DIP of the MASTER laser switch number 10 OFF, and the1-9 is in any mode, and SLAVE lasers’ DIP switch number 10 is ON as below: z

The laser is operating in SLAVE MODE. Connect the SLAVE MODE laser to

MASTER MODE laser (either Auto or Music mode) with standard DMX512 cable, the SLAVE MODE laser is running laser show exactly as the MASTER

MODE laser does. The laser is operating this mode until next setting

7.3 ONE UNIT AUTO CONTORL:

z

Set the DIP switch number9, and 10 ON, and1-8 is on any mode, the laser will be Auto activity.

10

Laser Show System

7.4 DMX OPERATED MODE:

The DMX-protocol is a widely used high speed signal to control intelligent light equipment. You need to “daisy chain” your DMX controller and all the connected light effects with a good quality XLR M/F balanced cable.

Each effect in the chain needs to have its proper staring address so it knows which commands from the controller it has to decode.

This is how you must setup and use the fixture:

z

Connect the unit to a DMX-controller using a suitable DMX-cable. z

Determine which DMX address the laser needs. z

Set DIP-switch number 10 in “DMX” position. z

You will have to set the DMX staring address with the DIP-switches 1to 8. Each of these switches has a corresponding DMX-value written under it. You can combine the values of these switches to obtain any staring address between

001 and 256: z

The display helps you check if the desired staring address is correct. z

Once the address is set you can switch the unit on with the key actuated on/off switch.

7.5 ILDA CONTROL MODE:

This unit has the ILDA DB25 port, and it can be controlled by the PC, There is auto transform set in the inside of the unit to transform the ILDA and the preprogram. when connecting by the 25 pin cable, the unit will be control by PC, when disconnect the unit, it will be preprogrammed program control。 some of the software can not control this unit, for the 4 pin and the 17 pin of the output card has not connect. In fact this is an easy problem. As long as you connect them. It can control this unit.
