JANELIASOUL PRODUCTION SPECIFICATION and TECHNICAL RIDER – 2015
Please read everything in this document very carefully. Any and all changes must
be to the agreement and approval of a representative of Janeliasoul. or the
Production Manager.
THIS RIDER IS HEREWITH ATTACHED TO AND MADE PART OF THE CONTRACT
DATED _________________________ BY AND BETWEEN JANELIASOUL (THEREIN
REFERRED TO AS “ARTIST”) AND ______________________________________
(HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS “PROMOTER”).
All terms and provisions herein after and hereinbefore set forth are part of one and the
same contract. ARTIST agrees to furnish and PROMOTER agrees to accept for the
engagement hereunder and entertainment unit including the services of the ARTIST
upon all following terms and conditions:
GENERAL PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS
1. The facility stage manager and/or PROMOTER’S official representative, who shall be
familiar with the physical set-up of the venue, and have keys and access to dressing
rooms, electrical power, loading doors etc., and who shall have read and agreed to the
provisions outlined in this rider, shall act as liaison between ARTIST and stage crews,
building authorities, etc.
2. ARTIST shall be afforded a one (1) hour sound check.
3. No other act or performer may use the ARTIST’S equipment on any show hereunder.
In the event permission to use equipment is given, such is to be under the direction of
ARTIST or ARTIST’S Production Manager or Road Manager.
4. PROMOTER agrees that he will not commit ARTIST to any personal appearances,
interviews, or any other type of promotion or appearance without the prior consent of
ARTIST or ARTIST’S Management.
5. ARTIST reserves the right to sell ARTIST’S merchandise during the entire period of
the engagement. Space and tables to be provided by PROMOTER in an area easily,
safely, and visibly located by customers to purchase.
6. PROMOTER agrees to abide by all applicable union rules and regulations and will
secure all licenses, permits, authorizations and certifications required from very licensing
authority, board, agency, guild or association properly having jurisdiction over any
element of the engagement, and agrees to pay all costs in connection therewith.
7. PROMOTER agrees to furnish his personal representative to be available, qualified
and authorized to act as liaison between ARTIST, ARTIST’S organization and
PROMOTER through the time that all equipment of ARTIST has been packed and
loaded on all transportation for departure from the venue.

8. No portion of the performance rendered hereunder may be broadcast, recorded,
filmed or embodied in any way for purpose of reproducing such performance without
written consent.
9. SECURITY
PROMOTER shall provide one (1) security guard which is to be posted at the door of the
dressing room from the time ARTIST arrives at the venue until they leave the venue; 1
(one) personal guard available assigned to protect ARTIST while they are at the venue.
10. DRESSING ROOMS
PROMOTER shall provide comfortable and private dressing room(s) able to
accommodate 8 people. Dressing room(s) shall be clean, dry, carpeted with electrical
outlets, well lighted and heated and/or air-conditioned. Dressing room(s) shall contain at
least 8 (eight) chairs, dressing table, well lighted mirrors, wardrobe rack with hangers.
Dressing room(s) shall be in easy access to clean, private lavatories, which are supplied
with soap, toilet tissue and eight (8) clean, cloth towels. These lavatories shall be closed
to the public. PROMOTER shall supply a first aid kit. PROMOTER shall be solely
responsible for the security of items in the dressing room area from load in until ARTIST
leaves venue. The door to each room should have a workable lock, keys to which will
be given to ARTIST or ARTIST Road Manager upon arrival at the venue. Please provide

LOAD IN/LOAD OUT
NOTE: All crew members described below, except members of ARTIST’S crew shall be
provided at PROMOTER’S expense, and PROMOTER shall be fully responsible for their
conduct.
11. PROMOTER shall have a person in authority at the venue to assist ARTIST’S crew
at least one (1) hour prior to load-in.
12. A total working force of four (4) men plus two (2) loaders shall be available to
ARTIST’S crew during load-in to assist in positioning and setting of ARTIST’S staging
equipment (same work force needed for load-out). This work force must have at least a
working knowledge of and be able to communicate in the English language.
13. There should be ample storage back stage to store empty cases and road boxes.
The storage space area should be totally cleared of scenery, props, hardware, risers,
etc. this storage space should not be accessible to the public.
14. PROMOTER, at his/her sole expense, will provide ARTIST with ample, secure
parking at each venue. Where a parking fee is enforced at venue for engagement
herein, PROMOTER will pay for all of these charges at his/her sole cost and expense.
PROMOTER must inform ARTIST or ARTIST’S Management two (2) days prior to
engagement of parking arrangement. PROMOTER must provide any and all passes for
all access required for ARTIST crew, ARTIST Management, and ARTIST.

STAGING; ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
15. A minimum staging area of 24 feet wide by 24 feet deep plus two (2) (6 foot x 8 foot
minimum) sound wings is required for the staging of ARTIST’S equipment and
performance. This area must be free of any steps or platforms. Circular or revolving
stage surface must be free of weak spots or gaps that might be likely to cause ARTIST
to lose their footing while performing. The stage should be capable of supporting 200
lbs. per square foot minimum. The stage area must also be appropriately barricaded
such that the general public cannot gain access to the stage before, during or
immediately after the performance.
16.Riserplatforms: One (1) 4’ X 8’ (Drum riser) height minimum at 12 inches to 24
inches high and should be positioned down stage.
17. PROMOTER shall make sure that there are well-lighted steps provided at each side
of the stage so that ARTIST can gain entrance to the stage area.
18. House electrician will be available and on-call from load-in through sound check to
make sure all electrical requirements are met by the ARTIST or Production Manager.
19. ARTIST’S electrical power requirements are as follows: There should be stable
120V 60Hz 60A power available. Five (5) quad boxes 120V 60Hz drops positioned per
stage plot illustration. (pg. 10)
LIGHTING REQUIREMENTS
NOTE: Lighting specifications can be adjusted according to size of venue and availability
of said lighting equipment.
20. The promoter at his/her expense shall provide a theatrical lighting system as
follows:
 A lighting control console with no less than 32 channels with programmable
scenes and bump buttons with operator
 No less than 32 par64 cans (single or double layer) upstage and downstage
truss mount.
 One (1) to two (2) spot lights with multi-color gels with operators.
 Comm system link between lighting desk operator and spot operators.

SOUND SYSTEM - FRONT-OF-HOUSE P.A. SYSTEM
21. The front-of-house sound system must be capable of 110dB SPL at the front-ofhouse mix position and 125dB SPL peak with a frequency response of 50Hz to 18 kHz.
Preferred speaker brands: JBL, EAW, L’Acoustics, Turbosound, Meyer, Martin, Apogee,
Showco, Clair or Electro Voice. NO MUSIC STORE PRODUCTS ARE ACCEPTABLE.
22. The main house speakers will be made up of the following components: Discrete
stereo 4 or 5 way active system (including dual element 15” or 18” subwoofers at a
minimum 2:1 ratio of full-range cabinets to subs) capable of coverage all areas (with
appropriate fill speakers or clusters) of the venue where patrons view the artist with
clean, clear undistorted sound.
23.MIXING CONSOLE: Minimum 40x8x2 house console with the following
characteristics:
Minimum two (2) band fully parametric EQ per channel
Minimum six (6) aux’s per channel
Eight (8) sub mixes or VCA’s
Minimum four (4) programmable group mutes per channel, sub group and stereo
master.
Examples: Yamaha PM Series, Soundcraft Series 4 or 5, or Midas consoles or
equivalent.
24. PROCESSING AND EFECTS:
Two (2) channels of 31band, 1/3 octave professional quality EQ (for FOH) and one band
per venue fill as required.
Crown Crest or QSC power amplifiers, all necessary power distro and cabling (per
electrical codes) with enough power to drive loudspeakers undistorted to their full
potential
Stereo active X-over network with limiters for each channel or appropriate digital system
controller
Digital recording/playback format (CD or DAT – no portables)
Two (2) DBX 160X or XT Limiters (or equivalent)
Three (3) DBX 166 Dual Channel Limiter (or equivalent)
Three (3) 2-channel Noisegates (Drawmer DL210 or equivalent)
Two (2) Professional quality reverbs (Lexicon PCM or equivalent)
Two (2) Professional quality Digital Multi-effects units (Yamaha SPX990 or equivalent)
One (1) Professional quality Digital Delay (TC Electronics or Roland SDE3000 or
equivalent)

25. MICS, STANDS, & DIRECT BOXES (Refer to Microphone / Input List for layout)
Minimum three (3) professional quality UHF Diversity Wireless RF hand held
microphones and one (1) UHF Wireless RF Headset microphone (Shure, Sennheiser,
AT, Sony or AKG)
One (4) Vocal microphones (Shure Beta 58’s or SM58’s)
Minimum four (4) pro quality condenser microphones (Shure or AKG)
Minimum eight (8) microphones for drums
Four (4) Misc. instrument microphones (Shure SM57)
Eight (8) direct boxes
Twenty four (24) professional quality microphone stands with booms & appropriate mic
clips
Fifty (50) pro quality mic cables
26. MONITOR SYSTEM
SPEAKERS:
Six (6) two-way, bi-amplified floor (wedge) monitors (12” or 15” with a 2” compression
driver/horn).
Two (2) 3-way active sidefill monitors (lows, mids, highs).
One (1) 3-way active drum monitors (with sub).
ELECTRONICS:
One (1) 40-channel monitor mixing console with the following characteristics:
Minimum 4 mixes
Minimum 2 bands of parametric eq per channel
Four (4) additional auxes per channel’
Minimum four (4) programmable group mutes per channel
Inserts on each channel and subgroup
EXAMPLES: Yamaha PM Series, Ramsa 840M, Soundcraft SM12, Midas Heritage or
equivalent
One channel of 3 band , 1/3 octave EQ for each mix (minimum 12)
Six (6) channels of compression
Four (4) channel of gates
Two (2) Professional quality Digital Multi-effects units (Yamaha SPX990 or equivalent)

TRANSPORTATION/LODGING
27. PROMOTER will provide 7 - 10 round trip airline tickets from BWI (Baltimore
Washington International) for ARTIST and ARTIST’S crew. Business Class airline
tickets for overseas travel. PROMOTER will pay all transportation and cartage fees.
28. If requested, a 12 foot lockable cabover truck with lift gate and competent truck
driver to meet group at airport, take equipment to sight of performance, and return same
to airport. PROMOTER shall make arrangements for truck at least two (2) weeks prior
to the date of the engagement and contact ARTIST’S Road Manager for flight schedules
at least two (2) weeks prior to performance.
29. PROMOTER shall provide ARTIST with limousine and cargo van for the period
during the ARTIST engagement; one (1) limousine to be available for ARTIST use at
their discretion. ARTIST shall establish an appropriate schedule for the limousine
drivers.
30. PROMOTER shall provide all hotel accommodations. Hotel shall not be more than
5 miles from venue. Unless otherwise prearranged with ARTIST’S Management.
Holiday Inn; equivalent standard or better.
Number of hotel rooms as follows:
Single rooms for ARTIST & ARTIST’S crew
FOOD
31. PROMOTER shall provide dinner (hot meal) for ARTIST and ARTIST’S Crew on the
evening of each engagement at PROMOTER’S sole expense. This must be first-quality,
catered food and shall be served following sound check or after ARTIST’S performance.
PROMOTER shall consult with ARTIST’S Road Manager in advance of the engagement
to plan a suitable meal for ARTIST.
32. Should ARTIST wish to modify the food arrangement, PROMOTER will be notified.
PROMOTER agrees to use its best efforts at all times to guarantee that ARTIST is
provided with top quality, well balanced, full course meals.

33. Dietary Needs:
40% green vegetables, 30% Carbohydrate, 30% protein (Fish must always be present
but may add chicken & beef for band members)
Prefers Asian, Caribbean and African quinine to include but not limited to the following;

CONDITIONS/PROVISIONS
34. PROMOTER shall provide, at his/her sole expense, 20 passes and 20
complimentary tickets or a guest list. This should be given to the ARTIST’S Road
Manager at the time of load-in. A separately identifiable set of backstage passes should
be provided for ARTIST and ARTIST’S crew and representatives. Upon prior request
ARTIST shall be provided with additional complimentary tickets at no charge where
family or similar requests create a need.
35. Guaranteed payment shall be made prior to commencement of performance:
a) All percentage payments provided for herein shall be paid prior to stage
performance. Promoter’s failure to furnish such payments on time shall excuse ARTIST
from further performance hereunder, but such non-performance shall not excuse
PROMOTER from any of PROMOTER’S obligations hereunder.
36. ARTIST’S obligations to furnish the entertainment unit referred to herein is subject to
detention or prevention by sickness, inability to perform, accident, means of
transportation, act of God, riots, strikes, labor difficulties, epidemics and any act or order
of any public authority or any cause, similar or dissimilar, beyond PROMOTER’S
control. In the event of riots or civil disorder which could result in injury to the life or
property of any member of the entertainment unit, ARTIST in its judgment, shall have the
right to cancel this contract without liability.
37. It is understood and agreed that the contract may not be changed, modified or
altered, except by an instrument in writing, signed by both ARTIST and PROMOTER.
The contract shall be construed in accordance with laws of the State of California.
Nothing in this contract shall require the performance or any act contrary to the law or
the rules and regulations, or any union, guild, or similar body, such law, rule or regulation
shall prevail, and this contract shall prevail, and this contract shall be modified to the
extent necessary to eliminate such conflict. This is the sole and complete agreement
between the parties with respect to the engagement. Nothing contained in this contract
shall be construed to constitute the parties as a partnership or joint venture, and ARTIST
shall not be liable in whole or in part for any obligation that may be incurred by the
PROMOTER in carrying out any of the provisions hereof, or otherwise.
38. Each one of the terms and conditions of this contract is of the essence of this
agreement and necessary for ARTIST’S full performance hereunder. Those obligations
of the PROMOTER which are to be performed hereunder prior to any performance of the
ARTIST are conditions precedent which must be performed in full by PROMOTER
(unless waived in writing by ARTIST or by ARTIST initialing the paragraph to be waived)
before ARTIST is required to perform hereunder. Failure to fulfill any such condition
precedent will subject PROMOTER to liquidate damages in any amount equal to the full
contract price hereunder as well as costs and disbursements incurred by ARTIST’S
goodwill for ARTIST’S failure to appear resulting from PROMOTER’S failing to meet
such conditions precedent. With respect to those obligations of PROMOTER which
must be performed during and after ARTIST’S performance hereunder, therein will
constitute a breach of this agreement by PROMOTER.
