Mixers – Equalisers – Antilarsen

The MX8033 preamplifi er-mixer has a certain number of audio inputs that can be further expanded, PHANTOM power supplies for electret microphones and - thanks to the precedence circuit - several levels of microphone priority.

The P8023 single-channel graphic equaliser has 31 adjustment steps in one thirds of an octave. It is used typically in sound-reinforcement systems for acoustic compensation of the rooms.

The P8024-B feedback controller is capable of reducing the effects of speaker-tomicrophone acoustic feedback (better known as the Larsen effect), by attenuating the frequencies at which these effects are initiated.

The DLC9000 is a device for automatically adjusting the sound level for broadcasting in environments featuring variable background noise such as, by way of example, a railway station (the level of the background noise is higher when the station is crowded than when it is not). The DLC9000 automatic volume adjuster uses a microphone, supplied separately, to measure the ambient noise ( M936 or

MC101-P). Support for rack-mounting: 27/2466 (1 U).

The DTM9000 is a device for playing out automatically the messages contained in the DMG9016 digital recorder at intervals of time selected by means of a rotary switch from among the following: 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 minutes. The DTM9000 can only be used together with the DMG9016, by which it is powered and to which it sends the commands for activating the various different pre-recorded messages.

6-zone Control Units for voice/music broadcasts

This equipment will enable a maximum of 6 zones to be selected from a dedicated microphone base. It is possible to connect the system so that it functions with either one or two channels (one or two amplifi ers). With a single dedicated amplifi er for both voice and music, calls to zones will stop any music being broadcast throughout all the zones. If, on the other hand, two amplifi ers are connected (one for music and the other for speech), it is possible to continue broadcasting music to the zones not affected by the call.

The zones will be selected by means of double-contact relays, one of which will be used for the override function (cancellation of any attenuators on the loudspeaker line, threewire connection). There must be 4 inputs for possible auxiliary sources, with a selector switch and level control on the front panel. Six switches on the front panel will enable the music to be activated/de-activated in the various different zones.

On the rear panel it will be possible to connect the microphone stations and, if required, an emergency audio source (message or alarm-tone generator) with automatic priority.

A switch will enable priority of the emergency input to be programmed at a higher or lower level than the basic call. Six LEDs on the front panel will indicate the status of the call in progress. Size: (L x H x D): 482 x 44 x 233 mm. Can be installed directly on a 19” rack, height: 1 modular unit.

LAX range Current Amplifi ers

The amplifi ers of the

LAX range have been designed specifi cally to transmit sound by inductive means, and their particular application is in sound-broadcasting systems for users of hearing aids. Most modern hearing aids have a two-position switch marked with the letters M and T. The M position is for “normal” listening through the Microphone. The T (Telecoil) position is for receiving sound inductively, by means of a special coil built into the hearing aid. The output from the current amplifi er, which is connected to the audio source, feeds a loop made of insulated normal copper wire that is positioned suitably (normally, around the edge of the room). The current fl owing through the loop generates a variable magnetic fi eld inside the room that is “induced” in the coil inside the hearing aid. This means that perfect audio reception of speech, messages and music with no interference will be possible in special dedicated areas for hearing-aid users.

Attenuators for fl ush-mounting

Attenuators enable the audio volume to be adjusted, attenuating the acoustic yield of the speaker units connected to them for constant-voltage systems (100-70-50

V). Models with different rated outputs are available depending on the maximum loads that can be connected to them. Each has an autotransformer, a switch with 11 different positions and a front grille.

The

TL10, TL35, TL35-R and TL50 attenuators can easily be fl ush-mounted in walls using the optional 27/901 box (standard 503). Model TL35-R is equipped with relays for excluding attenuation when priority emergency signals are received by applying a 24 VDC signal – on an additional two-wire line. The attenuators of the “Europa” range, TL12-E and TL36-E can be fl ush-mounted in walls using the optional AC911 box (except for

TL100-RE) or wall-mounted using the optional AC913 and AC914 boxes. Models TL36-RE and TL100-RE are equipped with relays for excluding the attenuator when priority alarm signals are received - using additional cabling to be provided for a 24 V signal. The connections are made by means of pull-out terminal strips with slide-in type contacts.

Selector LS6-R enables selection of 6 different programmes from constant-voltage lines, on one or more loudspeakers. It is equipped with by-pass relays for priority calls and has provisions for connection to an attenuator of the TL range.

ITC2000-C

Intercom counter system

C401-B

The ITC2000-C is a high-quality intercom systems for counters open to the public. It is managed by a microprocessor and its features are extremely flexible. The system has several operating modes and can be configured as a handsfree “listen/speak” system and, if connected to an amplifier, can be included in a soundbroadcasting system. This latter application is extremely interesting, since in addition to conversing through the glass the clerk at the counter can also make announcements to the public or zone calls. These can also be made, with different priority levels, from the microphones of other operators connected to the system (e.g. safety manager or other executives).

The operator station has a microphone mounted on a flexible stem that is long enough to enable conversations speaking in a normal tone of voice and at a natural volume, with no acoustic feedback problems. For the listening function on the public side, the system must be equipped with a PASO C401-B loudspeaker. Made of aluminium, this loudspeaker is extremely tough and suitable also for applications for which there is a high risk of vandalism (railway and underground stations, chemists open at night, etc.).

There are two standard connectors for 3.5 mm on the rear of the operator station, to which a headphone and/or an external microphone can be connected.

Equipment:

The ITC2000-C intercom system consists of the following:

1. Intercom base equipped with a microphone with a sponge shield to prevent hissing.

2. Junction box (telephone type) equipped with a 6-pole (female) telephone socket.

3. Cable (3 metres long) for the connection between the intercom base and the junction box equipped with

6-pole (male) telephone plugs.

4. External power supply, 230 Volt AC / 18 Volt DC, 500 mA.

5. Electret microphone for wall-mounting equipped with a shielded cable (length 3m).

This microphone is designed so that it can be installed on the glass above the counter, thanks to the vibration-damping bi-adhesive layer with which it is equipped.

Note:

The loudspeaker, non included in the supply, is the model C401-B (16 Ohms, 3 W)

Technical specifications:

Mains power supply: 15 Vdc

Absorption: 60 mA ÷ 200 mA

Sensitivity of the microphone capsules:

Microphone for wall-mounting: - 47 dB (0 dB = 1V/Pa a 1 kHz)

Station microphone: - 48 dB (0 dB = 1V/Pa a 1 kHz)

Frequency response (-3 dB): 270 ÷ 8000 Hz

Rated output power:

With internal 8-Ohm loudspeaker: 1 W

With external 8-Ohm loudspeaker: 1 W

With external 16-Ohm loudspeaker: 0,6 W

Microphone station:

Station microphone (mm): 200 x 158 x 81

Hole for flush-mounting a station (mm): 190 x 180 (maximum depth 72 mm)

Net weight of microphone station (kg): 1

Note:

It can be used with the LAX50 current amplifier.

CS1066 Basic system for open conferences

The CS1066 is effi cient and inexpensive. It does not need to be programmed and does not require an operator in order to function. It is a system for free discussion, in which the

Chairperson (Moderator) station has priority. It is suitable for conferences with a maximum attendance of 66 people apart from the Chairperson and the Secretary, if any. The cable for connecting the microphone stations is not included and must be purchased separately.

Central discussion unit: this has been created for managing small discussion systems without an operator. Its strong point is the versatility of the audio output connections, together with the separate and independent level controls for the input signals. It runs up to 66 Delegate Stations plus a Chairperson

Station, followed by a Secretary Station. It provides automatic internal level control of the signal from the units so as to prevent distortions if a high number of Delegates try to speak at the same time. The units are connected in a chain with three lines: two delegate lines for 33 stations each and one line for the

Chairperson and Secretary Stations.

Thanks to its wealth of technology, skill and experience, which has enabled the company to win the confi dence and appreciation of the main world markets – on which it is also present through its American Subsidiary PASO Sound Products Inc.

PASO S.p.A. owns the GELOSO intellectual property, trademarks and patents.

PASO is one of the few specialised companies able to boast its own integrated original design, industrialisation and manufacturing system for a full range of products, from the most complex and sophisticated systems and equipment down to the simplest accessories.

This new catalogue, “simply audio”, includes some totally innovative product lines. As well as a token of the Company’s constant commitment, it is intended as a useful tool for designing and creating sound amplifi cation systems for small and medium-sized applications.

PASO also offers complete audio solutions for sound-broadcasting systems applied to emergency services and for congress systems.

PMS2000 SYSTEM

Sound-broadcasting system

Increasingly often, and especially if they are complex and require high levels of safety and fl exibility, sound systems have to be integrated with sophisticated systems for managing and running diagnostic checks on the various different components, for monitoring the lines, the power supplies and the amplifi ers, for selecting the inputs and outputs fl exibly and for interfacing with external peripheral units. The PASO PMS2000 solution is just the thing for these and for even more demanding applications. It is an extremely versatile modular professional amplifi cation “system”, capable of complying with the most complex system specifi cations.

PMS2000-VES

PASO EN 60849 Certifi ed Sound-broadcasting system

Wherever the public are present in large numbers, it is essential to have a suitable soundbroadcasting system capable, when activated by the fi re-fi ghting service, of managing an emergency, enabling guided and controlled evacuation of the building. The current applicable European standard is EN 60849 (CEI 100-55). It defi nes specifi cally the characteristics of an electro-acoustic evacuation and emergency system in terms of design and installation so that it complies with the safety and reliability requisites

The PMS2000-VES sound-broadcasting system is PASO’s current answer to the features specifi ed in the legally applicable EN 60849 (CEI 100-55) standard.

Conference systems

The secret of a smoothly run and successful conference lies partly in the possibility of managing it properly, placing speakers in a logical order, regulating the timing of their contributions and how they are provided and requesting and receiving rapid and clear responses from the meeting. All this must be achieved with perfectly clear and intelligible sound messages. PASO conference systems can meet all these needs simply yet elegantly.
