Formaldehyde Multimode Monitor Cat. No 780-001 Spec

Formaldehyde Multimode Monitor Cat. No 780-001 Spec
Three monitoring options!
Highly accurate and reusable‡ colorimetric
sensor cartridge
 Detection range is 20 to 1000 ppb
 Accuracy is ± 10% at 40, 80, and 160 ppb
Lightweight, portable base unit
 Uses photoelectric photometry to read sensor cartridge
 Reads absorbance change in the sensor caused by
exposure to formaldehyde
 Automatically re-zeros between readings
Large, easy-to-read LCD display
 Select from ppb or μg/m3 concentration display
Operates with alkaline batteries or AC adapter
Stand-alone Passive Sampling
Measure concentrations in multiple
locations. Before and after sampling
measurements are compared
and conver ted to formaldehyde
concentration, and result is displayed.
Direct or Continuous Monitoring
Mount base unit with sensor cartridge.
Select monitoring: short-term (direct) or
continuous.
Datalogging
Actual tripod not shown
 Download data via USB connection and Data
Filing Software
 Generate graphical reports

How it Works
The reusable‡ sensor cartridge contains a porous glass insert
treated with ß-diketone. Formaldehyde diffuses from an area
of high concentration (the air) to an area of low concentration
(the sensor cartridge). A chemical reaction occurs between the
formaldehyde and the ß-diketone on the cartridge, resulting
in yellowing the porous glass. This reaction is measured by a
photoelectric photometer inside the base unit with accurate
readings to < 20 ppb formaldehyde without significant crosssensitivity from typical background compounds.
