SAIA-Burgess PCD4 H442, H444 Motion control module User Manual

The PCD4 H442 and PCD4 H444 modules are powerful motion control modules for servo drives with linear and circular interpolation. The modules can control 2 or 4 servo motor axes independently or with linear or circular interpolation to produce rapid and smooth motion due to selectable velocity profiles with trapezoidal or S-shaped forms. The modules are autonomous and have their own program memory to take almost all the load from the PCD4's CPU, leaving it free for process control. Programming and parameter definition is possible with the CP tool or via FBs from the PCD4 CPU, giving users complete freedom to exploit the capabilities of the modules.

Frequently asked questions

Each module can control 2 or 4 servo motor axes.

The velocity profile can be selected as trapezoidal or S-shaped for each axis.

Yes, programming and parameter definition is possible with the CP tool or via FBs from the PCD4 CPU.

The modules' own program memory allows for autonomous operation and takes almost all the load from the PCD4's CPU, leaving it free for process control.

Motion parameters are stored permanently in EEPROM and are not lost when the module is powered off.
