Put a Call on Hold
While you are on a call, press Hold button (red button, lower right). To return to the call, press Hold.
Transfer a Call
1) While you are on a call, press Transfer.
2) Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call.
3) When you hear ringing, press Transfer, or wait for the recipient to answer, announce the call, press Transfer, and hang up.
Make a Conference Call
1) Place or receive a call. Two parties are now on the call.
2) Press Conference.
3) Dial the third party, wait for that party to answer, and then press Conference again. gs up.
Hold. The other parties can talk to each other, but they cannot hear you. (Music on Hold is not played.)
Adjust the Volume
Handset — Lift the handset. Repeatedly press the higher or lower volume control button.
Speaker — Press Speaker. Repeatedly press the higher or lower volume control button.
Headset — During a call, repeatedly press the higher or lower volume control button.
Ringer — While the telephone is ringing, repeatedly press the higher or lower volume control button.
Modify the Display - Adjust the LCD - Backlight Brightness and/or Contrast
Press the Menu button (looks like two pages, outside lower right corner of LCD), then press Down Arrow to scroll to
Phone Settings. Press the OK key (center of arrow keys), then press OK key again at the Modify Display option. Use the
OK key to select Contrast or Backlight and then the Left or Right Arrow keys to adjust. Press the Save or Cancel keys to end this operation, then press Back, and Back again, and Exit, to get to main display menu.
Mute a Call
During a call, press the Mute button. The backlight of the button comes on. You can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear you. To cancel, press the Mute button again.
Forward Incoming Calls to Your Voice Mail
Press the Features button, and at the Call Forward option, press the OK button (center of arrow buttons) to select, then scroll down to Forward to Mail and press OK button. All incoming calls ring once and then go to your voice mail message box. To cancel this feature, press the Features button, and at the Call Forward option, press OK, then scroll down to
Forward to Mail and press OK button again.
Switch Your Telephone to Do Not Disturb
Press the Feature button and use the Down Arrow key to scroll to the Do Not Disturb option and press the OK key (in the center of the arrow keys). The display shows Do Not Disturb. All incoming calls go directly to your call coverage

Park a Call and Retrieve a Parked Call
1) While you are on a call, press the Action button and scroll with the Down Arrow key to Call Park option and then press the OK button (located in the center of the arrow keys).
2) Enter one of the extensions reserved for Call Park or press the Call Park option again to use the default Call Park extension. The default Call Park numbers are 8001 through 8099, inclusive. minutes).
the extension you chose is busy, the system assigns another Call Park extension.
To retrieve a parked call, dial the Call Park extension where the call was parked.
Accessing Call Logs
1) Press the Menu button (icon looks like two pages, to lower right of LCD), then use Down Arrow to Call Logs.
2) On the Display Panel, use the arrow keys to scroll through the list: Received Calls, Missed Calls, Placed Calls, Clear All
Logs.
3) Press the button associated with the list option whose entries you want to view.
4) Press one of the buttons below the Display Panel:
Detail.
Delete. ect a call from the list and automatically dial it, press Dial.
Back.
Power Savings Modes – Explained
1) First Energy Save Option – occurs after a few minutes of non-use: screen save mode - display dims, resulting in 30% power savings.
2) Second Energy Save Option – occurs after a longer period of non-use: power save mode – screen goes completely dark, buttons’ illumination cease, and the message waiting indicator flashes intermittently, resulting in 50% power savings.
3) To bring the phone out of either Energy Save Options – press any key, or pickup the transceiver.

Initialize Your Voice Mailbox the blue MSG button and follow the voice prompts to set up your mailbox number and create a password.
Access Your Mailbox
From Your RVC Telephone
1) Pick up the handset and press the blue MSG button or dial 6245 (spells M-A-I-L on telephone keypad).
2) Enter your password.
3) Follow the prompts to listen to your messages. If you have no messages, the voice prompt presents the Main menu.
From Any Internal RVC Telephone
1) Pick up the handset and press the blue MSG button or dial 6245.
2) At the password prompt, press *.
3) At the next prompt, enter your extension number and then #.
4) Enter your password.
From Any External Telephone
If you can dial your telephone extension directly:
1) Press * during your greeting.
2) At the prompts, enter your extension and password, and then press #.
If you dial your organization’s voicemail telephone number (815-921-6245):
1) At the prompts, enter your extension and press #.
2) Then enter your password, and press #.
Retrieve Messages
1) Pick up the handset and press the blue MSG button or dial 6245 (MAIL).
2) At the prompt, enter your password.
3) Press 1 to access the Messages menu.
4) From the Messages menu: deleted messages.
5) From the New, Saved, or Deleted Messages menu:
6 to forward a message.
-forward 10 seconds in the message.

Reply to a Message
1) From the New, Saved, or Deleted Messages menu, press 4, and then 1.
2) At the prompt, press # to record an announcement for the recipient of the message.
3) Press # at the end of the recording.
4) At the prompt, enter the destination extension.
5) Press # to send the message.
Forward a Message
1) From the New, Saved, or Deleted Messages menu, press 6.
2) At the prompt, enter a destination number and press #.
Mailbox Options
1) Pick up the handset and press blue MSG button or dial 6245 (MAIL).
2) At the prompt, enter your password.
3) From the Main menu, press 9.
4) From Setup Options menu, press 1.
5) From the Mailbox Setup and Greetings menu:
1 to change your password. ss 2 to record, review, rerecord, or delete a normal, busy, or extended absence greeting.
3 to manage scheduled personal greetings.
4 to record and review your name announcement.
6 to modify what you hear as you review messages.
9 to set up print options.

Message Waiting Indicator(MWI)
Display Panel
Description
There are four soft buttons below the Display Panel. The bottom of the Display Panel shows the functions of the four soft buttons, which vary with the state of the telephone. You can choose different functions by pressing different soft buttons.
The MWI LED lights up when there are unviewed messages in the voice mailbox, and blinks when an incoming call is present or in power save mode.
The Display Panel displays the telephone state and call information.

Speaker button
Press the Menu button to enter the configuration menu of the telephone, or exit the menu and return to the standby interface.
The navigation buttons include four direction buttons and one OK button. You can use the navigation buttons to perform such operations as select menu items in the configuration menu, adjust contrast/brightness, or switch between lines when multiple calls are present.
Press this button to directly access the voice mailbox and listen to voice messages.
Use this button to transfer calls. To transfer the current call to a third party, press the Call Transfer button, dial the number of the third party, and press the Call Transfer button again. Functionality of Transfer is also dependant on the type of transfer being performed, please refer to the
VCX Admin Guide for details.
Use this button to establish a multi-party conference call.
While on a call, press the Conference button, dial the number of the person you want to conference in, and then press the Conference button again to start a 3-party conference. To conference more people in, repeat this step.
Press this button to redial the last telephone number that you called.
While on a call, you can press the Hold button to place the current call on hold. If the administrator has configured the
Music on Hold (MOH) service, the held party hears music; if not, the held party hears silence.
Activated when the telephone is in speaker phone mode.
For best results, keep the area around the microphone free of obstructions. The microphone is directional; it performs best when you are directly in front of the telephone.
The number pad has twelve buttons: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8,
9, *, and #. Press the number buttons to enter the number of the person you want to call or for any other feature code or digit entry.
Press the headset switch button to switch between the handset and a headset. The backlight of the button is on when a headset is used. If you choose the headset mode, you need to speak through the headset after the call is put through.
Press the Speaker button to use the speakerphone mode.
In this mode, the button is illuminated, you can hear the party you are speaking to on the speaker, and speak through a microphone.

Press this button to lower the volume of the ring while your telephone is not in use, lower the voices of you and the other party while you are talking through the handset and headset, or lower the volume of the speaker while in speakerphone mode.
While on a call, you can press the Mute button to prevent the party you are speaking to from hearing you. When the telephone is muted, the backlight of the Mute button is turned on.
Press this button to raise the volume of the ring while your telephone is not in use, raise the voices of you and the other party while you are talking through the handset and headset, or raise the volume of the speaker while in speakerphone mode.
Pick up the handset to talk to the other party of a call.
